Chester definitely deserves the number 1 spot without a doubt. The rest of the top 5 (in no order) should easily be Corey Taylor, M. Shadows, Matthew Tuck, and perhaps either Amy Lee (who is an amazing singer by the way, even though I don't listen to Evanescence all that often), Serj Tankian, or Benjamin Burnley, who I think is extremely underrated.
Anyone who is unwilling to accept or notice these people's talents, as well as my great respect for the others who are very close behind the top 5 and who are some of my top 5-10 favorite bands, clearly doesn't understand diversity and the meaning of Nu-Metal.

He can sing and scream like hell (Faint). He can sing calm, soothing songs (The Messenger). He can sing like a rapper (Papercut). He can make deep lyrics (Leave Out All the Rest). He can sing weird but really cool songs (Blackout). He's gone across at least six different forms of rock, and he's only in his 30s. Enough said.

What is M. Shadows doing up there? He is a Heavy Metal singer, not a Nu Metal singer. Corey Taylor is way better than all the Nu Metal singers. He should be number 1 on the list due to his extremely aggressive and strong vocals.

Slipknot has some Nu Metal songs, but I'd rather call them a proper metal band instead of Nu Metal. Their riff style differs from general metal riffs, but their songs are arguably some of the heaviest modern metal songs.

Come on, man, this guy totally rocks. Nu Metal songs like Duality, Wait and Bleed, Psychosocial, and Before I Forget prove that he is the best. He should be number 1 or 2. Chester Bennington is also cool. Amy Lee and M. Shadows suck. They don't deserve this place.

Jon's voice is amazing. He can sing metal and has an awesome deep growl, but if he wants, he can sing emotionally. Not to mention, the lyrics come from the heart and have a deep meaning to all the songs he writes.
His scat is unbelievable and the best I have ever heard. In addition to his amazing ability to play instruments of all types, like guitar, bass, drums, bagpipes, violin, harp, and piano, Jonathan Houseman Davis is the greatest Metal/Rock singer of all time.

Jonathan 'HIV' Davis was ranked #16 in the top 100 metal vocalists of all time. He's the best vocalist of the Nu Metal genre. No one here was ranked higher than him. I love Chester Bennington of Linkin Park and Corey Taylor of Slipknot/Stone Sour, but I feel they are not as good as Jonathan Davis.

She is great. Compared to other Nu Metal singers, her place is separate and unique. Whoever hears her voice falls in love because she is a miraculous angel! Her lyrics and voice are so beautiful, dark, haunting, and charming.

His voice is so unique. He does great in both his solo career and System of a Down. I don't know anyone else who can make those growling noises on just a microphone. He did it amazingly at Rock in Rio about two years ago. Serj Tankian is amazing, and System of a Down is amazing.

Have you ever even heard this guy sing? He is a way more talented singer than Chester Bennington or Corey Taylor. He's even great solo. What more can you ask for?

I have been listening to Nu Metal, Metal-core, and Heavy Metal since I was about 7 years old. Out of all the bands and vocalists I listened to, I liked David Draiman from Disturbed and Device the best. I don't fully understand why Amy Lee and Linkin Park are here because, while they did some Nu Metal songs, they can't be classified as Nu Metal singers or bands when most of their songs are classified under Hard Rock and Alternative Rock. If we were talking about Heavy Metal vocalists and bands, I would choose Austin Carlile from Of Mice and Men 100%. I believe that Austin Carlile is possibly the best Heavy Metal vocalist of the 21st century.

Chino Moreno has a great voice that can fit into all kinds of songs that they have composed. Throughout their long-standing career, he has proven that he can scream, rap, sing melodically, sing softly for more mellow or acoustic songs, and has even contributed to a large number of other songs in collaboration with other artists of varying genres.
Besides, he is one of the few vocalists who are still in the same band that is considered relevant in the industry and to the younger generation today.

Chester isn't a nu metal vocalist. He is a great vocalist but not in nu metal because it needs rap, and Chester can't do it. Same goes with Amy Lee.
Chino, Corey, Serj, and David are the gods of nu metal voices. And Fred Durst is the worst vocalist of all time.

He annoyingly beautifully sings, raps, and screams. Wow, man, this guy is awesome. Fred Durst is the best Nu Metal singer. He should be number 1. Matt Shadows and Matt Tuck are not Nu Metal. Amy Lee is a great singer, but her band is emo.

Chad Gray

He has a very distinct voice, and every sound that comes out of his mouth is perfect. I am a big fan of several of the singers on this list, but Amy Lee doesn't deserve to be on any list of professional merit. She may be super talented, but she is definitely super childish. I haven't listened to her since the release of Sober.

Read Mudvayne lyrics, and you will see Chad Gray is the most talented and consistent artist this century. Alongside David Draiman, that is.

Mike is a good rapper and made a good pair with Chester, but now he makes a good pair with Emily. He created many songs and has fully rebooted Linkin Park to become the most successful rock band currently.

A fierce death growl from Ben should scare the crap out of Chester Bennington, who really sounds like a chicken scream. Ben Burnley's voice could melt your heart until your knees weaken, or his death growl could chill your spine and break the irony. He is the best singer, and no one can beat his growl.
