Most Possible Future SuperpowersEver since the collapse of the Soviet Union, America has been the only super power. But what do you think could become the next super power. Show us and have reasons why for your decisions.
India has a large population, growing faster than China and overtakes them in population in the next decade. They have a highly educated western workforce with IT skills and computer skills as well as engineering. China has an aging population and large skills gaps, particularly in cyber as population ages. It will struggle to maintain its existing capabilities. This will happen in lock step with cultural blowback from the rest of the world from an attempt at overreach. Demographics cripple China as a future power.
India has 4th strongest army in the worl. The britishers took away about 47 trillion money from India in the past.Even then India is one of the strongest.Within a span of 73 years
India became one of the strongest nation in the world .Imagine what India will become in the coming 70 years
India becoming a superpower is debatable, though not impossible. I will say that India has made marvelous strides. It has one of the largest economies in the world that will continue to grow, it is governed by a functional democratic government, it has dismantled a centuries-old caste system (though there is still work to be done on the social divide), and it has lots of young people (the last one is extremely important). It has the second largest population in the world and a strong and modernizing military force. I applaud India for it's successes. It still needs work however. It is still lagging behind China in development and strategic viewpoint (India's own political elite have stated that India's inevitable rise is unrealistic). Millions of its citizens still live in poverty. There is also high inequality and entrenched corruption. Plus India is hemmed in by a vast ocean, the tallest mountains in the world, China, and Pakistan who just might end nuking India if a war breaks out. ...more
India is still a growing country, but its growth is way faster than any other country, and at its speed it will reach and become a superpower by 2030. recent statics have shown that India has found enough plutonium for approximately 10,000 more nuclear ICBMs or any other type of nuclear weaponry. Indian soldiers also have the highest moral known in the world. This means that the are willing to give their lives for their country, this almost gives them extra strength and confidence and the ability to achieve anything, even at the cost of their life. And economically their economy and society will slowly get better, considering it has only been 60 years since India got their independence from Great Britain. So it is still a new country, but its growth is truly immense considering the fact of when the got their independence.
China is the country I believe is most likely to become a superpower, sure India has potential but China has even more. China has a more efficient and effective government, China has a hardworking population and China is the biggest trading partner for most countries.
China's population is growing all the time, but rather than living in poverty (which exists, as it does in all countries, but isn't as common.), people are rich, middle class, poor, or working for the government. The government uses workers on low wages to help China become a superpower- it's working. It offers an alternative to the US and is different from it; the cruelty of poverty comes directly from the government, rather than corporations. The trade-off with this making poverty more common is that the poverty goes to use. The method is efficient, even if I disagree with it. It's got a huge military, and a huge economy. China is going to be the second world superpower.
China is going to be a second superpower. It's economy will soon at least equal that of the United States. It's still modernizing a military that is still a force to be reckoned with, it has an excellent and growing technological base, and the world's largest population. It still has a lot of problems such as pollution, human rights abuses, income inequality, it needs more democratic reforms, and it has to solve it's problems with Tibet and Taiwan. Plus it's surrounded on all sides by US-Allies, India, and Russia.
Even though its economic growth have started to shrink, it might become a economic superpower. However it would be hard for China to achieve military dominance in its territory since it share borders with US-Allied nations, India, Russia and some other nations that are no pushovers. China is also in lack of allies and there is few nations that tend to tighten its bonds to China.
It's already a superpower! It has major companies like Apple and Amazon, has the best economy and GDP in the world. And that's just financially. They've got nukes and very strong-armed forces. They can destroy many countries in months if they wanted to. It has a large population and is a big country. The U.S. has many natural resources. USD is the dominant currency all over the world, and its culture is everywhere. Great education too. Very nice and safe country to live in, I've lived there about five years before moving back to India. All in all, the United States is a very powerful and great country. Love from India!
America was built on principles never before seen and still not seen in any other country in the world. It is the model of the future of the world and as long as the rest of the world does not offer the freedom and liberties that america is built upon, no country will ever match up to us. India, China, and the Soviet Union are drowning in poverty and corruption, they have many more issues to solve before becoming a superpower, and the European countries will just be there, but they wont overtake the US. The best brains that come to the US and those who wish to protect the idea of a free world will never let the US down, we might get hurt economically now and then, but that will never be enough to bring down the greatest nation on the face of this earth.
The United States will continue to be a superpower. It's got a large population that is continuing to grow. It is one of the largest countries in the world with abundant natural resources. It's bordered by neighbors that pose no threat to the north and south, while being bordered by oceans to the west and east. This pretty much makes invading the United States, a logistical nightmare and impossibility. It has the largest economy in the world with massive industrial and agricultural bases. Many of the largest corporations are home here and the USD is the dominant world currency. Plus American culture is pretty much everywhere. Not to mention we also have the most powerful military in the world with enough firepower to end the world fifteen times over.
Who ever said that 30% of the population make up Indian in usa. Man you don't know what you talking about just because 30% of Indian makes up usa population don't mean we are weak. Why you think all these Indians are over here getting? American education of course. And before a vast of Indians came here we been a superpower country. So you don't know what you talking about. American citizens made usa a superpower not foreign relations. You need to read up on American history before you try and put usa down. Because way before all these statistics you seeing. We been on the rise without help and been dominating. Now it's about protecting our freedom and other countries freedom to be whatever they want to be. So like I say don't mistake usa like we never did nothing on our own because this is what we do and who we are
Japan enjoys a very large economy, but it really suffers from population decline. 127 million people and only 54 million available manpower.
Now of course, 54 million people is a huge number, but it will rapidly decline to 50, 45, 40, 35 before its 2060. And this, of course also damages the economy really bad.
So, if Japan can manage to stabilize its population, rewrite their constitution for army expansion and war, and eventually develop weapons of mass destruction, they will sure become a superpower.
Japan have the 3rd biggest nominal GDP, and is home to the best products and branches on earth. They also have a very low level of corruption, and are among the ones, who live the longest.
However, their military isn't much dominating, and their security also largely depends on the US - Japan Mutual Security Treaty.
Japan because they are one of the richest, and probaly the most advanced population in the world. However, they are lacking a bit when it comes to millitary. They have a popualtion of 125m, and since they are so rich, they definitely should consider increasing their millitary, if they want to achieve superpower status.
Japan. Their stable economy, heavily industrial base, and huge trade networks will expand and Japanese corporations will grow in power, probably exceeding American corporations in power.
Pakistan can never be a Superpower, Pakistan is surrounded by 3 Powers - India, China, Iran, if Pakistan ever expands, It would really have a Hard Time. Second, Pakistan's Economy is not one of the Fastest Growing Economy, So just how can it be a Superpower like that. Third, Pakistanis are also facing problems in Terror Attacks as well. Fourth, Though China is it's allies, India has a Extremely Large Relation With India, Compared to Pakistan - US Relation, Pakistan and US isn't really a Big Allied Countries, And Afghanistan can just attack Pakistan from the West, Now Pakistan is surely cornered. Fifth, Some Pakistanis doesn't know how to Speak English and has Limited Internet which makes Pakistan, doesn't Process that Much.
Pakistan is one of the few countries to be solely created based on an idea/dream...This makes it immune to boundaries or materialism. One can mark a boundary on another planet and can call it 'Pakistan' because of the idea of a freedom of spirit embedded in a materialistic human body...Of course the struggle was for Islam but the core behind is the freedom of spirit to shift the lordship of man to the lordship of God...This struggle brings evolution in the process towards the ultimate goal of freedom perusing the dream...
Because the ideas are bulletproof, the idea of Pakistan at its core is impeccable and in the path towards the freedom of spirit, the resiliency and the hardships by the material body and possessions are merely the stops of the train and once it matured by the experiences, it would continue to run and evolve...
We are forgetting the Housing bloom in Pakistan where ten new cities have been created out of nothing by only one group, the Behria town. The housing market alone has generated a trillion dollars economy, likely o multiply five times by 2020. Pakistan also sits on one of the largest Gold reserves (estimated two trillion dollars), the China Pak economic corridor will link Kashgar with Gwader port in Pakistan at the cost of 35 billion dollars, ushering in huge trade and commerce. Pakistan could move up economic ladder at a surprisingly fast pace linking Central Asia with warm waters. Pakistan is also becoming an energy conduit from Gulf and Central Asia to energy hungry India and China, th prospects are unimaginable.
Yes it is fair to say that: the government is corrupt; 40% of the country is below the poverty line; it still has lots of terrorism - however it has the basis of becoming a superpower.
Pakistan is a country that is looked down by literally everyone and even some of Pakistan's own men and women, but inside Pakistanis are fighter, are brave, there's a sense of unity inside them. When earthquakes hit Pakistan, Kashmir what happened? Well on the negative side lots of people died, but on the positive everyone of those people affected stayed strong.
But still I bet most people think of this as inspirational rubbish - so I'll throw a few factors showing Pakistan having actual signs of development: Firstly, the the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor - prediction says that the project will result in the creation of upwards of 700,000 direct jobs between 2015 "2030, and add 2 to 2.5 percentage points to the country's annual economic growth and much more is yet to come from ...more
I don't see any chance of that happening since Russia occupies the worst location in the world with no clear access to warm seas. At the same time it has almost unmanageable borders. With mono product economy and high corruption levels and lack of any truly distributed representation the chances of becoming a superpower are almost none.
What I mean by superpower is not just military nuclear power. At the same time the Russian people are highly intelligent and deserve a much better government to live under. Maybe with those type of changes it could be, fully in contributing member of the human family vacatio at the same time the Russian people are highly intelligent and deserve a much better government to live under. Maybe with those type of changes it could be, fully in contributing member of the family of nations.
Russia can be superpower country in the world because its has only potential to be superpower in 21 century. Russia is only one country who had experience about global affairs in politics, military, economic, foreign policy, etc. Russia had most advanced sophisticated weapons in military hardware. Its has world largest stockpile of nuclear weapon and chemical weapon. Finally, Russia (USSR) was once superpower country in the world when America play role to demolished to USSR because America want to be replace in superpower country in world by not showing as brave nation instead of coward nation in the world. As we can see still at present time too by war with undeveloped power country.
The Soviet Union collapsed because of poor and weak leadership. Presidents like Yeltsin and Gorbachev prostituted and destroyed the reputation the USSR once had. But now under the leadership of Vladimir Putin, a hardcore patriot, Russian pride has been restored and its economy has stabilized. Western Europe trembles in fear at the thought of Russia, none of the European nations can take on Russia, even less with China as Russia's ally.
Russia is definitely a potential superpower, because it is the 2nd strongest country, as well as the largest nuclear-state in the world. They are also the biggest country, and one of the permanent UNSC member. What Russia faces as a problem, is probaly its weakened economy, a declining population, as well as corruption problems. Though Russia still has showed a tiny piece of its power, when Putin declared war on ISIS, as well as backing the Russian rebels in Ukraine.
Most of brazilians are european descendants and preserved many good costumes of Europe, they already have huge industrial areas, advanced industrial tecnology, half of the citizens have an european behavior and european way of life and the country have most advanced universities in Latin America since many decades ago, Brazil is already in the deep way of the progress. Brazil is crisis at the moment, but prepare, because this country have a such huge future.
Brazil is an ethanol and oil superpower, a food superpower, a minerals superpower, it has developed its own space technology, manufactures its own weapons, makes its own cars, it has an enormous territory that can be populated by working migrants and on top of that is a very attractive country where most people are happy.
Brazil is already the 6th largest economy, and it has the 5th largest population and area. Brazil is industrialized, it has a strong military industry (and it has the technology to produce nuclear weapons since the 70's).
Brazil is rich, Brazil is on a crisis at the moment, but all the countries get into crisis someday, it's getting better quickly, it's a peaceful country, free, educated, industrialized, so yeah.
Ridiculously low placed. Germany and France together through the EU are already are super power status. Once Germany lives up to the defence spending it should invest they will be a formidable force not only in soft, but also military power. Correcting for the obvious Anglo bias in this rating.
Being the leader of European Union, Germany has strong political ties with several countries strategically placed around the world. Germany heads the EU which will completely dominate the 21st century and teach the world how to grow back up after being in the middle of a world war. Germany survived two drastic world wars and continues to dominate the world GDP. Volkswagen,BMW, everyone is there, living in Germany, breathing in Germany. Unlike Americans, Germans feel no shame in paying a heavy tax and boosting their economy to the limit. Germany is the savior of Europe in the middle of a refugee crisis, and will be continue to be the king of Europe.
People forget one very important thing about Germany. It has the largest diaspora! There maybe only 80 million citizens of the Germany. BUT, there are nearly 80 million German-Americans. Then, there are the German-Dutch, Swiss-Germans, Austrians, Danes, Swedes, Germans in Mexico, South America. Nearly 250 million world wide.
Germany as a lone nation is not a super power. However, a peaceful Germany that learns to draw on its Diaspora for principles and values could very well be a formidable super power.
Germany is definitely a contender. It has the largest economy in Europe and it pretty much carries the rest of the EU (expect for the U.K, Italy, and France). Germany has nuclear latency and one of the most powerful militaries in the world. A lot of innovation (seriously, haven't you seen Germany engineering), skilled labor force (which is the largest in Europe excluding Russia), and low levels of corruption. Plus German food is delicious.
Turkey is developing day by day with their president. They started to participate in middle east. Turkish alliances are very powerful and they don't have any chance to not support Turkey against ISIS. Turkey changed the strategy. They are side anymore but they develop their relations between whole countries such as Russia, China and Arabia. Turkey will be very valuable alliance in the future. East side and West side Should be aware of because Turkey has a very powerful army and developing economy and they will be the centre of the energy in the future. It will be like switzerland in the future.
Turks are battle seasoned and have surpassed German engineering & technology. They also established the Turan Union which is a Turkic Union and will have a role similar of that to NATO and is currently has the highest number of active military of 2.8 Million which is greater then China. The Turks could defeat the Germans in a few hours. It's only having political problems at the moment other then this the country is in no threat. I think people watch to many Hollywood movies & are not exploring true facts. Every American war & operation was a absolute failure & loss. Not only this America and 40 other countries can't even defeat a terrorist group of 15,000 Isis. Payed soldiers that's all they are. When the times comes.
Turkey has a burgeoning economy, and ranks 17th in the world. Turkey also has the tenth strongest military in the world with the 9th most powerful army. Turkey has the second largest army in NATO, and Turkey is continuing ongoing high profile production of military equipment such as tanks, helicopters, missiles, ground defense systems, etc. Not to mention, Turkey is currently building a nuclear power plant which will also enable it to make nuclear weapons which is the only difference between the present day Turkish military and other militaries of countries that are currently superpowers. Turkey is also constructing an air craft carrier which will allow it to confront some of the most renowned navies in the world such as the American or Russian navies. Also, Turkey is in a logistically strategic location which enhances its potential to be a world superpower. Not to mention, once the boron mine in Niğde opens, the world will be greatly dependent on Turkey for this white gold of the ...more
A younger and a growing population with a growing quality higher education. Great geopolitical location. Tremendous investments in its infrastructure, know-how in advanced technology. Has been the third largest but first based on GDP donor nation behind the U.S and U.K in the world which she has achieved in a span of 12 years (from $85M annually to $4 but $6 including its contribution to Syrian and Iraqi refugees. Improved ties with 6 former USSR Turkic nations with tremendous oil and natural gas reserves and other minerals. All of whom make up more than 200,000,000 citizens. Turkey has also strong ties with its former Ottoman Empire States in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. One of the strongest military powers. Military technology and equipment dependence was reduced to 51% from 90% only in 10 years and aiming to reduce it to below 10% by 2023 which is also the time Turkey wants to become one of the top ten economies in the world. Turkey is currently 17th largest economy in the ...more
Great Britain could be a superpower once again. We remain a centre of engineering and research- with the fastest developing tertiary sector globally. Furthermore, London is the finicial Capitol of the world. Our main problem is our aging population and hence lack of. However this can be solved through the commonwealth, which is becoming a more crucial part of British society. Great Britain is playing a long game and instead of investing in nuclear capabilities and military forces we have developed the greatest espionage network, one of the most sophisticated cyber systems and is one of the safest places on earth. We must remember that in the future, wars will be fought through computers and we are the only country equipped to deal with this threat whilst being allied to current superpowers and being the leading middle power!
As patriotic as I am, Britain will never be a superpower again - within the far foreseeable future at least. Our dominance on the world stage has been rapidly declining for decades now.
This list is being voted for by quite nationalistic people. Pakistan is very unlikely to be a superpower, as is Brazil, as is Turkey and so forth. China and potentially India in a long time are the only real potential superpowers. Russia may be strong military and in terms of global influence but their economupy is not growing at the rate of China's.
Britain is no longer even a big name player.
In short, Britain has very little chance of becoming a superpower.
Population and natural resources is what holds this country back. It holds arguably the 'City of the World' in multicultural London, a booming culture that has influenced every corner of the globe, the most 'soft power' of any country, the largest financial centre, strong military (though it needs reinvestment), strong allies as shown by the Commonwealth and US links. Regardless of Brexit economic fears, trade and business has boomed whilst unemployment is at a major low. It is an elite technological player dedicated to scientific research- as shown by its influence on inventions. Arguably, it is the most developed country on earth in terms of its sophistication and social care. Rule Britiannia!
Great Britain WILL become a world super power once again. However, there are a few hurdles in the way of our success. Once we leave the EU, close our borders to over increasing immigration, breath life back into our national pride and support, focus our attention on the commonwealth and our allies and vote in a party (such as UKIP) that has true faith in the British public, values and way of life. Our time will come again, we shall grow stronger than ever before. If we believe in each other, our heritage and our nation we can succeed! Watch out, the Britain is coming back onto the world stage once more!
As we head into the future, countries, especially India, China and USA are hungry for energy and resources. So countries with an abundance of natural resources and energy are those with the most potential to become a superpower, like Canada. Canada does not only have the energy, like petroleum and uranium, but also has food and fresh water. Canada has the largest reserve of fresh water in the world and great agricultural soil. Food and drinkable water are essential for life, but are not generally in abundance.
Global warming is noticeably having a large effect on our planet, but it might have the ability to shape up Canada into a world power. As global warming melts the north, there will be a large abundance of fresh water, farmland and natural resources (oil) available, adding to Canada's already sufficient amount of resources. Not only will global warming grant more resources for Canada, but also an northwest passage. This will be essential for international trade, which is ...more
With access to near unlimited natural and unnatural resources, and a well fortified network of trade to numerous nations worldwide, Canada would effectively become an economic superpower. Despite a small military, it has the technology and workforce to kickstart a massive military production if it had to. In the Second World War, Canada went from a small military to actually possessing the fifth largest navy at the time. And despite a population that is a little over 50 million, its immigration system is open to anyone as long as they have an education and are of working age. In other words, Canada only takes in the most intelligent and work-ready people. And because of Canada's use of peaceful measures and not force during times conflict, Canada is well respected, have few to zero enemies.
Canada's has the natural resources and potential to be an economic superpower. Canada also process tons of the worlds next gold, fresh water. The United States could end up paying Canada billions for this in the future. If Canada puts a hold on the northwest passage they'll be rich using it as an international trade route. Also If anything were to go wrong, Canada has one of the best situations in the world if not the best. This includes; Self sustaining food (more hen enough), and and loads of material (including gas, lumber, pot ash, uranium, the list goes on). And SPACE. As global warming kicks in more of Canada's arctic will melt turning into usable farm land making Canada even more of a recourse giant. All Canada needs is to do is make better decisions and get more people by possibly increasing the immigration limits. Long way to go but set up for success
Geoffrey Hinton, Yoshua Bengio, and Richard Sutton. If these names are not familiar, then: artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning and reinforcement learning.
Canada has the world's highest concentration of top AI researchers and the most recent AI revolution started here. With public and private investment in R&D, and immigration of the world's brightest minds, Canada will see at least 10 unicorns (billion dollar valuation) AI/tech companies in the next 5 years and at least 5 massive AI/tech companies to rival Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple in 10-15 years. Canada would have the intellectual critical mass to win the global race for general artificial intelligence.
Canada's AI advantage, its quantum computing research leadership, strength in soft power, global reputation and attractiveness to immigrants will make Canada a global leader, especially with America's recent retreat from multilateralism. Combined with nation building initiatives to grow the ...more
I do believe that Indonesia has the needed aspect to become a superpower in the future. We have an abundant of natural resources that none other country in the world has. Our population is the 4th biggest in the world. Our military is considered one of the best and the strongest. And there are just so many more.
The problem is, Indonesia is not that good in using all of those "Gifts" to it's advantage. Our natural resources are being exploited by other countries, just like the colonization era. Our population, it may be the biggest, but many of our people don't even get proper education, or education itself.
Don't even get me started of all of the problems we have now. It's just so frustrating seeing the people in charge using the citizen's money. Not for the greater good, but for their own benefit instead. And don't even get me started on the religious problems we're facing as of now, I'm sick and tired of seeing people arguing with one other about a problem that ...more
Our natural resources aren't the greatest in the world. In reality, Indonesia isn't as rich as it seems. However, if the government would invest in new types of energy, a superpower status would certainly be in our reach. An advanced agricultural technology may also be required. Spreading out the population from Java island may be a good action too. But most importantly, the military... PLEASE!
Indonesia is incredibly rich in natural resources compare to other countries. No Doubt! We have gas, bright & clear sun, wind, soil, and GOLD (now capitalized by USA), imagine how rich we are if we were able to take our Gold Mine off from USA. But political stability has been a Huge issue so far, there is not enough figure who can manage our political stability as well as our human resources
- Most populous country no.4 in the world
- Strategic location (between Asia & Australia; between Pacific Ocean & Hindi Ocean)
- Lot of natural resources; This is the largest archipelago county with more than 17000 islands.
- Unity in diversity; More than 300 ethnic groups and 700 languages in Indonesia and they live in peace.
Mexico has more than enough natural resources to make it to the top; they supply the US with agriculture and labor, two things that the US can not do without. Their industrialization is growing and fast. All they need to do is build their military up and get involved in the world stage. Mexico has a tendency to shy away from the world disputes, and they also don't put enough military pressure on the drug lords.
With its Economy expected to be 5th in the world by 2050 Mexico is more than certainly going to be a Superpower. It is in fact only a matter of time before it catches up to Brazil economically. And once it does it will become the most powerful country in Latin America, the Second most powerful in the Americas and the Western Hemisphere.
The corruption has always been there, so why haven't the Mexican people done anything about it? How can it become a superpower if it won't help it self. Mexico needs to start thinking about her citizens and the citizens need to start thinking about others and not themselves.
I've witnessed the economic boom first hand. Its another sleeping giant, but you'd never guess given thd constant barage of negative media that loves portraying that country as a failed state.
If North and South Korea reunified under the South Korean government it would have major implications for the balance of power in East Asia. Korea would easily become a major power. Cheap labor and massive amounts of natural resources from the North combined with advanced technology and currency from the South would have have an economy bigger than Japan's. Not to mention a excellent education system, the Korean Wave, and one of the most deadly militaries in the world.
South Korea is basically on a highway to success. If the nation
A. Defeat North Korea* (the more likely option, since SK's neighbors aren't exactly allies)
or B. Merges with basically any neighbors
than They will definitely succeed
*SK is neutral to Japan, so NK is really the only one they'd go into a war with
North Korean and South Korean population combined would provide a powerful new workforce with double the land and natural resources from the north. A united Korea has the potential to become a major power and if their cards are played properly, as the number 1 country for asian pop culture, Korea could advance as a superpower.
If South and North Korea reunite, they would certainly overpower neighboring Japan. The reason being the North's vast supply of natural resources, and the South's advanced technology and superior economy.
France will need to continue its mission of soft power projection in Africa and the European Union. With the nuisance of Britain out of the way from its continued obstruction of the European Union, France will now be the unquestionable and dominant European power. It is through Africa and Europe that France will be able to get the US, China and Russia on their knees.
The spread of multiculturalism and unreasonable immigration are becoming a heavy weight for many Europeans country. French assimilation and blind color and ethnic policy encourage the integration of the new comer. The others tend to look the same.
European Union promote provincialism to enforce its future federalist sate. Europe nation state are cracking up everywhere except in France. Britain with Scotland, Cataluna in Spain, "Liga" that is about to cut Italy in half. The centralized state in France turn into it favor.
In addition to, France position in the 21 century look the same of its golden age XVII century. A Europe divided and prominent population. In 30 years France is the most populated country. Germans are getting old and it will impact drastically on its economy. France has a "rendez vous" with history.
For all I know, France has the best engineers and a certain talent for mathematics. It is the third country that have the most company in the Global ...more
They're ambitious. They fight fiercely but they lack the capability of staying a global power. If they are lucky and they can exploit weaknesses in the current superpower, why not?
Actually France is better that what we think about it, for instance France is Europe's most innovative nation and the third in the world (Bloomberg Reuters), behind United States and Japan as usual, but before Germany 4th and South Korea 5th. Sometimes France does not like to spread too much its good figures, French have this 'to keep a low profile' way to be.
Iran has all the resources needed to become a superpower. That is natural resources like oil (4th largest) and gas (2nd largest) and mineral resources but most importantly Human resources. Highly educated skillful population and is advancing fast in science and technology and becoming self sufficient thanks to international sanctions. millions of university students the majority of which are harder working females who would like to prove that they are better or at least equal to those few who believe otherwise, as they indeed are. Once being a superpower (Persian Empire) and of Aryan race I say that they will be very likely the next superpower. Yes sir.
After these sanctions are listed Iran will boom. It is very difficult for "the West" to influence Iran, and with Russia as an ally. The sky really is the limit, especially when one considers their young and highly educated population. The women may have to veil themselves, but this country is no Saudi Arabia with women being educated in sciences and the arts.
Luckily, Iran may have once been enemy number 1, the lifting of sanctions will mean that they will burst onto the world stage. This is not a country to be ignored, especially with their substantial oil revenues as well as technological advancements, anyone thinking that Iran the only country in an unstable region to be unaffected and hold onto their power will not be a major player in the years to come are kidding themselves
Having the largest oil-gas reserves of the world, Iran has also the highest growth rate in science production which stands at 11 times higher than the world's average. currently Iran is among the top 10 countries in the world in fields of nano-tech, bio-tech and space-tech being the 9th who was able to send her own satellite to space. having said that, Iran is constantly pushing the boundaries of middle-east and Asia by investing as much as she possibly could in science and health. Iran is becoming a major international hub for health tourism as she offers highly advanced and really cheap healthcare plans for tourists from all around the world. Iran enjoys significantly robust foreign policy as she plays part in almost every corner of the world from latin-america to Africa and Asia controlling events everywhere.
Population is the basis of power and growth. Iran has around 80 million people mostly young, talented and educated. It has been located in a very strategic area where it is a natural route for trade from east to west and south to north. It has been able to raise from ashes 4 times during its 2500 years of existence and become a superpower. It is rich in all the resources that a country needs to grow.More importantly, Iranians or Persians have the guts to dream big and move towards their past glory.
Top 10 education system, geopolitical location in central-western Europe (yes, check where Europe's midpoint is) that is an advantage in 21st century, a century of trade, ecclectic and exciting culture, great English skills (English Proficiency Index), very peaceful (World Peace Index), low levels of corruption (Transparency International Corruption Perception Index), high globalisation (Globalization Index), top quality of the media (Reporters Without Borders Press Freedom Index), very high development (Human Development Index)...
Perhaps not enough to become a superpower but enough to become a power. Oh, wait! Poland is a regional power already!
Poland is a country that occupies both the best and the worst location in the supercontinent of Euroasia. It sits on the brink of an opportunity that could make it up so much of superpower militarily which is still somewhat necessary but a superpower in the realm of intellect. What I mean by that is that a good potential he show a new way of humanity to develop peacefully and with a benefit for all. It professors somewhat hidden however very positive psyche. It's people are smart, vibrant, highly educated, entrepreneurial and kind. It's economy is highly diversified with the robust internal market and not only an export market. Currently it is going through some political challenges however nothing unsurmountable in our near future. These are the reasons why I vote for Poland.
Of course needs time but the trends in Poland are in favour it can happened. EU is in troubles. Germany army is a joke! Only Great Britain and France have meaningful military power. GB in few years will be out of EU. France is plaques with Islamic influences so Germany. Only Poland is free of this plaques and can stand up to fights the catastrophe of Islamic califats in Wester Europe like centuries ago Polish King Sobieski did save Vienna! How many remembered that. History likes to be repeat. Poland can't relay on Germany wchich invaded her in 1939. France and England did nothing in this case not to mention they have obligations and signet two way tractat. Poland can count only on its own power of course with the help of USA. European Western countries heading to self destruction. They are on one way street with death end.
Current superpower countries politics in region of Middle East Europe are expansive (Russia, Germany). History have shown that before the fall the sin of pride walks... Poland will have a chance and will re-unite historical Intermarium Empire from our fraternal nations. In other countries of the region there are the same ideas and they are strong. Ex. Hungarians... our (Poles) greater Ally.
Situation like it is now in the world about Poland is like that because of GREAT SHAME all of so called allies after WW2 who try to cover the truth... But Poland will call for justice again. Remember who stopped Turks (at Vienna 1683), who stopped Bolsheviks (at Warsaw 1920; together with Hungarians), who finally conquer Ancient Roman Empire... Namely "Vandals & Huns" (ancestors of: Vandals - name coming from Vistula river and one of first queens "Wanda" means nation lived at today's Poland territory, our great great ancestors; and Huns - ancestors of Hungarians and ...more
I believe the Philippines has a different approach to being a "Super Power". It won't be through economic and military might but by its greatest weapon... Women. A lot of guys from all over the world come over to the Philippines to the women, some order the women online, some go here to fall in love and bring back their women to they're home country. I'm not just talking about white guys. Asian guys too. Japanese, Chinese, Korean. They all come to the Philippines for the ladies. I've never been to a country without either a Filipino or a Filipino hybrid. Never. To be fair, the ladies are HOT HOT HOT. The Philippines is only 1 of 3 countries to win all 4 major beauty pageants and they did it in record time (just 3 years). There's a reason why they win all them beauty contests. The Philippines will conquer the world by mixing their genes with every person and people in the world.

The Philippines has a lot of potential. It has a lot of natural resources: oil, gold, iron, wood, et cetera. With the invention of the salt lamp by a Filipino, the nation can use the thing it is most abundant in for electricity: salt water. If war ever starts between the Southeast Asian nations and China, the Philippines has a strong ally in the USA. The Philippines has a decent army. Its culture is now being recognized around the world and more and more tourists are coming to the country because of its breathtaking tourist attractions: ancient rice terraces, almost perfect cone-shape volcanoes, white beaches, rivers with water so clear that you can see its very bottom, elegant churches, towns with Spanish-style classical architecture and an abandoned island with nothing more than an abandoned arsenal. It has a rising economy and is fairly successful, considering that it has only been only around for 69 years since independence from the USA and it is extremely in debt since Marcos' ...more
We have a lot of oil, gold, chrome, and iron deposits in our territory. We just don't mine them to protect mother nature. Get ready if we will use our resources wisely!
The UK and its commonwealth could easily take on almost anyone and win, it has public healthcare, 6th best education system, best special forces and massive global influence.
Great Britain is the best country in the world!
Already up there
Israel is a potential superpower of the future. Jerusalem is it's capital and is pretty much regarded as one of the holiest cities on Earth. Thanks to a well-trained, well-equipped, and battle-experienced military that has been destroying its enemies since it's foundation, Israel will continue to curb-stomp anyone in the Middle East that's a threat. Not to mention they also have excellent "insurance". It has the most advanced economy in the region along with a high-quality education system. Not to mention advanced technology and even now rapid economic development. Plus it's got the backing of the United States, currently the sole superpower. Won't be surprised if an Israeli Hegemony comes into existence.
It has one of the best air force. At the edge in cyber and agriculture. At the top class of the intelligence some say even no. 1 it it. It has plenty of atom and hydrogen bombs. And the best thing in Israel is innovation and technologies. Israel was rated no.2 in both research papers and patents per capita. The amount of new nanotechnology in Israel is rated number 1. Israel invents many technologies that all countries want them. Even USA, European countries. And let alone Asians like India and African countries. To me, resources don't count. Look at the Arabs they have plenty of resources but third world countries. What that matters is brains and technologies. You can have plenty of air planes but all of them can be vulnerable to backlash attack. But one super advanced airplane or drone that Israel has can't be attacked. So this shows you that quality outperforms quantity. And Israel is always the edge of technology.
Israel is a likely candidate for a superpower. Being surrounded by people who hate the nation, it's logical he needs to be somewhere in the Salty Spittoon. (Reference)
Of course, after defeating a couple countries, Israel may be on its way do eliminate any threats, and might gain much.
I can totally see Israel becoming a superpower. Since it is surrounded by Enemies, Israel has to have a powerful military. Its got a badass military already. Eventually, with the help of the U.S., Israel will probably take control of Syria, Saudi Arabia and all of its enemies to create a vast empire! It may be a small nation, but they are used to going to war and will remain a great power if they don't become a superpower.
Australia has no land borders, massive amounts of resources and vast room for expansion within its own boarders. Australia has currently powerful allies which it can rely on for military support whilst it quietly builds. Key weaknesses in population size and large scale manufacturing ability must be rectified however. Australia's have proven to be very resourceful and inventive in the past and anyone who looks past the great southern land as a possible world power ( it already punches far above it weight! ) is a fool... Australia teamed with NZ for a future world super power! And let there be beer and meat pies for everyone!
Australia has a high potential, large geographically, abundant natural resources and newer infrastructure that is turning largely towards sustainability. There are many perks to being a young country. It is well located with ties to the UK, the US as well as across south east Asia. Culturally we have progressed far in the last ten years in finding a stronger national identity and as the years progress I believe Australia will flourish. Although I would say that although it is possible for Australia to become a Superpower, it would require a change in stance in global politics as we traditionally opt for co-operation rather than leadership. Australia could certainly be one of the first majorly Soft Power based Superpowers in the future.
Australia has some of the largest deposits of natural resources in the world. Along with this, they have a strong economy with a stable parliament behind it. Australia also has strong allies with other, powerful nations such as the United Kingdom and the United States as well as increasing trade links with China. As a result of this, Australia can be certainly be seen as a possible superpower in the near future.
Australia Has Great Potential to make it among the world superpowers. They have most of the worlds Uranium in their backyard. We Don't use it however. Only 1 nuclear reactor that is used to manufacture medicine. Our military may not be as Big as america IE, Aircraft carriers. Actually that's the only thing we don't have. We have everything else. Navy. Airforce and Army. As well as our Special forces.
The Swedish Military has the greatest opportunity to become a world power, because it is not limited by the many redundancies a country would receive in Nato, And the Swedish people have the willpower to strive for more power, unlike the U.S. and other Natori powers whof let there military whittle and rot away over time. Sweden also has little poverty unlike India, China, Russia, and Turkey.
If anything from The Norway above, Sweden is more likely than Norway, DUe to Sweden's Military Is the strongest one in Nordics.
If it wasn't for corruption, South Africa would grow and the economic improvements could definitely cause it to become a major world power.
Loads of potential. Rich in mineral wealth and infrastructure
Bangladesh can be a superpower thanks to its large population, fertile land, increasing manufacturing growth and low wages as well as the development of strong services sector. The wider Bengali population in West Bengal and the Northeast can increase Bangladesh's leverage and trade and relations with China can make it a superpower
Bangladesh has vast amount of resources and huge work force, just the government needs to be corruption-free and wise enough to use these in the country's own favor. Bangladesh has the potential of becoming an economic superpower, but it will take time and undergo a lot of hardship.
Bangladesh is a country with huge young population where 60% of the them are youth and most importantly this nation has different religion where 90% of them practice Muslims. Bangladesh is a moderate Muslim country where there is no conflicts between the religions.
I think Bangladesh has a great chance to be one of top powers in the world.Using vast population it already started it's economic growth and will become a developed country by 2041.With great economic power it can certainly be a top contender for military superpower in future.
We have to do it. Create a terrifying empire of international economic cooperation, sustainable development and social welfare. We will raze the lands of our enemies and leave behind consumer protections and cell phone plans with no international roaming charges. All neighboring states will fear our vast army that will assist in managing the controlled migrations of populations and ensuring peace in conflict ridden areas. No one will dare go against our demand to come to democratic compromise in which every party has its voice heard. This will be the empire of empires.
It's Europe, all the might of the colonial powers, combined. They should probably kick Italy, and add Russia and Turkey tbh.
The European Union has an enormous potential to be a superpower. It's democratic, forward thinking, technologically advanced, has some very progressive members such as The Netherlands and Sweden and if Macron succeeds with his reforms the EU can truly become a superpower of the 21st century.
Europe has an aging population and overall shrinking economy. The only way they'll be able to compete with other super powers (China and the US) in military might, economy, and workforce, they'll have to unite
