If he's such a hero, why is he siding with a crazed criminal in Civil War? He's nice in the comics, but in the MCU he is nothing like he was in the comics.
Spider-Man is my favorite superhero, but Captain America is the best Avenger.
The Avengers would be nowhere without his brilliant leadership.

Iron Man
Iron Man is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Iron Man has the brains, the attitude, the looks, and a heart just as brave as Cap's where it counts. He's by far the most human and has the most flaws, making him one of the most relatable characters because of it.
Unlike almost every other MCU character, Tony doesn't need to be a super soldier, a super spy, a wizard, a god, a titan, or an alien. He's competent enough to design technology that allows him to hold his own (and often prevail over) each and every one of those. The Avengers would've lost, badly, a long time ago if it wasn't for Iron Man.
I think it's important to make sure the hero is Tony Stark behind the Iron Man suit. He is Iron Man.

Personally, I'm fine with her relationship with the Hulk, even though it's a little bit weird and out of character for both of them.
Seriously though, she is absolutely, positively, BY FAR, the most badass heroine of all time, in my humble opinion. And I love Scarlett's acting!
Though I despise her relationship with the Hulk, she doesn't deserve the hate she gets because of it. Don't blame the character, who was awesome in four other movies.
She doesn't have powers, yet kicks a ton of a$$. Respect.
