Top 10 Scariest Sci-fi Movies
When we think of Sci-Fi we think of Star Wars and computers etc. But Sci Fi does have a dark side to it, here is the list of Scariest Sci-Fi films of all time!Cursed me with insomnia and nightmares for weeks. Whenever the name "Alien" is mentioned, my little-kid-scary-first-encounter memories return.
By far the scariest sci-fi movie ever made. Scary locations, a scary monster's look, and a scary score. Brilliant acting from the whole cast made it look even more impressive.
In its day, the most unique movie ever made - a great combination of space, horror, suspense, and drama.
All of the other sci-fi movies on this list are amazing, but none have the psychological, gut-ripping, gory, horrifying, suspenseful terror that The Thing provides.
I go back and forth between this and Alien being the greatest horror movie of all time, but this one wins out.
I'm a huge sci-fi/horror fan, and I've seen most of these movies, but The Thing is by far the scariest.
Laugh out loud, the Alien series in general is the best sci-fi ever! Predator sucks and is the only franchise coming to mind that I would like to discredit.
All other sci-fis are awesome, though. Xenomorphs rule! They look great and have awesome abilities, which, in my opinion, ranks them at the top of the evil alien list.
What James Cameron does to make this terrifying is make you become emotionally invested in its two lead characters (Ellen Ripley and Newt) and put them in dangerous circumstances with Xenomorphs, which are crazy as hell.
Predator is my favorite sci-fi/action movie of all time. A solid performance by Arnie, great action, horror, and plot twist, not to mention an excellent score and endlessly memorable quotes.
Yeah, the aliens in Alien are friggin' scary, but Predator is more advanced and carries awesome guns and knives!
Could you wish for a more iconic creature?
It was one of the best movies I've seen in a while.
To me, it was scary, especially considering that this could be a possibility sometime in the future.
Oh my gosh, freakiest alien movie ever. I watched it before I went to sleep and couldn't stop thinking about the scene where Bo says to her dad, There's a monster outside, and there's a massive, buff, glaring figure like an impersonation of the devil.
Also, the 7-year-old birthday party in Brazil on TV - if that was shown on actual TV, people all over the world would be crapping their pants. Honestly, brilliant but damn creepy. God bless all who watch.
One of the creepiest movies you will ever see, especially when you see the alien on the roof!
This should be number one - not just the scariest sci-fi movie, but one of the scariest movies of any genre.
This movie should be the scariest sci-fi movie ever. It had me on the edge of my seat for the first 45 minutes, and the rest of the time I was riveted, except for the Tim Robbins scenes.
You guys should watch this movie - a real masterpiece from Carpenter and quite creepy.
Excellent. They do not make them like that anymore.
