People can say whatever they want about a shock performer, but that fuels their fire. Shock performance is about shock, and shock arouses feelings of hatred and disgust. If he wanted to please parents he wouldn't have decided to be in the performing arts/entertainment industry.

My parents hate him, and I love him. I won't buy any of his actual CDs, because I know my parents would forbid it. I buy them from iTunes instead.
It's a shame Antichrist Superstar isn't sold on iTunes in Canada.

It's good that parents hate him. That's what he wants. Fear and hatred makes him what he is, and he has some incredible music so I can't thank those against him enough.

Ok but he actually sucks. He's a satanist and he looks like a 300 year old dead alien that wears human clothing and he has a weird voice to hide his satanic messages

I know I'm sound rude for saying this but the parents who think that all rock/heavy metal bands are bad influences should go to hell. That's a question I will not tolerate. I've been listening to rock and metal my whole entire life and nothing bad has ever happened to me. There are some rock/metal bands that are really good role models. In fact, some rock and metal can prevent suicide and murder because most rock/metal songs tell them that they're not the only ones who are angry in the world.

edgy nu metal, and every band listed here is either commercial stuff, emo, surface layer bands, or extreme metal. I can't imagine anyone's parents outwardly hating osdm and black metal bands when there's derivative dribble like Slipknot around...

Haha, my parents hate Slipknot. They find the masks to be overly eerie and can't relate relate to the music much. Sucks to be them though, they're missing out.

it's kind of understandable. Slipknot are really loud and some of their music videos are disturbing. however, the parents who call them Satanic have no idea what the hell they're talking about

I love them but my parents hate them with a passion! They only focus on the explicit stuff and don't realize that they actually have songs with a lot of meaning :(

Imagine liking these clowns in the first place.

They smoke weed.
Play autotuned pop music.
One member had a relationship with
that pop country singer.
They want just getting rich.
Some One Directioners & Beliebers are crazy!
Teen girls become fangirls who can't
stand/understand constructive critics about One Direction

Oh yeah,I can see why.
But it's just a phase.
I hope.

Everyone hates One Direction. So is it really a surprise?

I don't get why so many parents hate them...

They need to die

Yeah they are definitely not the kind of band my parents would like. Regardless I don't like them that much either. My mom would freak out listening to them

So many people only listen to the songs about sex, drugs, and partying and ignore the songs that truly have meaning.

I'm wearing a Hollywood Undead shirt right now!

I was gonna vote Misfits, but they aren't here so I went My Chem basically because parents are generally either annoyed, disgusted, offended, or frightened after finding out their kid likes My Chem a lot more then the other "teenager" bands instead of just certain their child is a murderer (However, there are the select few that endorse the bands)

They are not a bad influence MCR is just an emo band, so they are bound to get hated on by parents.

Probably because they're "Emo".
