Top 10 Best Album Covers

The Top Ten
1 Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon

This album cover is so simple, but after listening to the album, it will stick with you for the rest of your life. The spectrum that emerges from the prism is representative of different topics in life, each covered by a different song on the album. Truly a god among men when it comes to album covers.

This is the only album cover on here that is good, sorry but its true. The only good ones is this and the one on the items list. Sorry, but why do I always find heart or sarah brightman on every single music list? , anyway, not trying to hate on this list but its just I always see heart on a music list.

Even if you are the minority like myself that doesn't like the album, you can admit that the cover is intriguing with the rainbow coming from the pyramid against the black background. It really catches your eye and sticks with you.

Most recognizable album cover. The light coming in represents the unity, the prism represents society and the spectrum represents disbanded unity. Just shows how a picture can speak 1000 words. And the music is even better

2 The Beatles - Abbey Road

There are albums listed higher than this that have artwork that I have never seen or simply don't know since there's no picture beside the entry. How is this lower? It should be #1! I'm horrified to see that it didn't even make the top 3.

Who doesn't know this one. Black and white silhouette on a cheap T and you know what it is. The Best.

It might not be the best, but it's the most famous and iconic. It gets my vote.

The only cover so great it appeared twice!

3 The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground

Yes, its only a banana, but, its designed by andy warhol, and he knows his stuff.

I like bananas

4 The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Honestly feel like most of these are high because people love the album itself. This one I agree though it's a great cover not just a great album.

Easily the best... It sums up the whole revolution that not only The Beatles themselves influenced, but all those that came before them at the time. A perfect cover for a perfect album.

Instantly recognizable and the most expensive album cover they made, all the actors, the fancy uniforms, just so classic.

As far as the Beatle's music goes this albums amazing but not their best release. But as far as their album covers go this is truly a work of art.

5 Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
6 Patti Smith - Horses
7 Nirvana - Nevermind

What?! The only cool/artistic items on this list are Dark Side Of The Moon and Nevermind. The rest are just pictures of famous people in weird poses. Toptens seems to attract all the fanboys...

This picture is awesome. A A baby swimming under water lolz. Nirvana forever.

Naked baby for the win

Should be in the top ten.

8 The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
9 Sarah Brightman - Fly
10 Jackie Evancho - Awakening

The only thing better than Awakening is the dvd Awakening Live at Longwood Gardens. Jackie has developed a richer, mature voice to go along with her interpretive genius. On Awakening she shows great versatility, wielding her golden Voice in the service of classical, sacred, and pop songs. Something for everyone.

Jackie Evancho has a classic voice. One of the best Classical Crossover artists of all time. This 14 year old young women has a sense of music far beyond her years. Can't wait for Awakening to be released.

No more appropriate image than that of the young lady herself, emerging as a teenage chanteuse whose voice is even more stunning than when she first burst upon the scene.

That is 14 years old? ! Hope her Dad keeps his 12 gauge nice and clean.

The Contenders
11 Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast

The way Eddie is controlling the best like a puppet and the beast controlling Eddie with a smaller puppet is very creative! And the music on the album is even better. P.S. I am Lostdream258, I lost my password and I had to create a new account.

How is this underneath Evanescence and Jackie Evancho?

Almost every Iron Maiden cover is awesome.

Iron Maiden have the best album covers.

12 Dio - Holy Diver

Never judge a book by its cover...

13 Def Leppard - Hysteria

I saw this in the 80's and was instantly taken by it. Awesome music and an instant fan is what followed.

14 Green Day - Dookie

I think this cover represents animals tired of taking crap from humans so they decide to fight back using their own crap. Literally!

There's so much going on in the album cover! This is my favorite with the resistance by muse close behind.

This is probably Green Day's best album cover ever. It really relates to other peope. Dookie is really a cool album cover.

15 Cream - Disraeli Gears
16 Evanescence - Fallen

Let's take a moment of silence for the fan-boys who voted for their favorite album rather their favorite ALBUM COVER like this one. Apparently putting a close-up image of yourself as your album cover makes up for a good one

Best cover ever. Amy is really pretty on this cover.

She is so cute and beautiful.
Amy is the best singer.

Fallen cover is definitely number 1.

17 Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond
18 Heart - Little Queen

The girls are just to fine. This is not art it's the real thing . Ann and Nancy looking great.

19 Michael Jackson - Thriller

This one is have tobe on top of the list. This album is the best of all. Greetings from Lithuania!

20 Avenged Sevenfold - Nightmare
21 Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory

God this album introduced me to rock music and will always carry a special place in my heart. The vocals, the rawness in the lyrics and music itself. One of the best albums of modern days still. It sucks that Chester had to leave this world, guess all that anger and despair came from somewhere, we all fight our battles, and in the end I doesn't always matter. Rip, music legend.

Hybrid Theory has a very creative cover...

The cover shows what is the music like and I think that's what cover is supposed to do

22 Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Bring this to #1. Please.

23 Metallica - Ride the Lightning
24 The Clash - London Calling

Image as rock. Anger. Lashing out at the very thing that supports you. It's this one or The Who's "Who's Next" with the group urinating on a monolith. Talk about being pissed off...

Come on people! What could be cooler than Paul Simenon smashing a bass guitar in black and white!?!

Pretty cool photo

25 Cyndi Lauper - She's So Unusual
