Top 10 Best DragonForce Songs
DragonForce is a band that has always stood out in the metal scene for their fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping songs that blend blistering guitar solos, high-pitched vocals, and a fantasy-inspired vibe. If you've ever dabbled in power metal, you probably know that DragonForce is one of the most iconic names in the genre. Their brand of music, often dubbed extreme power metal, is a unique combination of speed, technical prowess, and larger-than-life storytelling. The band first gained worldwide attention with the release of their third album, Inhuman Rampage, and particularly with the single Through the Fire and Flames. This track catapulted them into mainstream recognition, especially after it was featured in Guitar Hero III, a game that made it infamous for its insane difficulty level. However, DragonForce's career stretches much further than just one hit. Their discography is filled with songs that push the boundaries of what you think is possible on guitar while also making you feel like you're on some kind of epic, fantasy-fueled quest.
Founded in 1999 by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, DragonForce has gone through several lineup changes over the years but has remained focused on delivering the same high-energy sound. The lyrics often reference warriors, dragons, and mythical battles, bringing that immersive fantasy world to life. Over time, they've polished their sound and explored different styles within their core framework, even incorporating electronic elements and shifting from their earlier rawer productions to more refined, anthemic sounds.

Easily one of the harder guitar solos. This song is a whole seven-and-a-bit minutes of awesome, action-packed rock. It's the hardest song I have ever heard in my life. It's excruciatingly difficult to play but still playable. There are many covers for it, ranging from violins to piano. I am attempting to play the piano version, and I can tell you it is hard as heck!
The fastest-sounding song and one of the hardest. I am trying to play this painful intro, and yet, there is one song that sounds as fast as this song: Dyers Eve. But this is one even a beginner, unlike me, can almost play. I can almost get to the speed that Herman Li plays it, and I'm an amateur. So, this is and always will be the best and fastest song ever.

First-time listener to this band. I've listened to Through the Fire and Flames, Fury of the Storm, and Heroes of Our Time a few times. I found Fury of the Storm the best. I liked it the first time. Their music almost wears you out if you're not used to listening to this type of fast-paced music, and the songs are so long too.
I think it'd be a bit unfair to choose Through the Fire and Flames, as that one is the DragonForce song almost everyone knows.
I think those Rock Band games should really put more DragonForce songs on there, like this one or Where Dragons Rule. I'd totally love that.

This is the best one. Not only the guitarists' skill level but also the phrases and wording it has.
When listening to this song, I can visualize myself on a medieval battlefield, fighting off hordes of enemies. It puts you there, in the Valley of the Damned.
In my opinion, this is the best song DragonForce has ever made. Yes, Through the Fire and Flames is their most popular song, and it made the band famous through Guitar Hero 3. That's how I discovered them. However, other songs of theirs are even better. Awesome ending too!
If you are new to listening to DragonForce, try out some of their other songs before deciding that Through the Fire and Flames is their best.
THIS IS JUST MY OPINION (You don't have to hate on me).

By far, this is what you expect when listening to DragonForce. Maybe it's just me or everyone except a few like me, but the soul in this one is much closer to DragonForce than their latest songs like Through the Fire and Flames and more. I'm not saying these songs aren't good, just not what you expect from DragonForce's main soul.
This is a great song, I think, from this band because the guitar solo is very difficult, and for me, it took a long time to learn it.
Their music video for Heroes of Our Time is also great! I love it so much.

Such a wonderful song. It's hard to pick as there are many I would vote for: Trail of Broken Hearts, Three Hammers, Through the Fire and Flames, The Last Journey Home, and many more.
But Operation Ground and Pound is the song I just go wow to every time I listen to it.
Through the Fire and Flames + Heroes of Our Time = Operation Ground and Pound. One of my favorite songs ever.
It just sounds so perfect. There really isn't any other word to describe it.
For me, this runs a close second to Valley of the Damned. Great song title. Amazing dual guitar intro and trademark catchy singalong chorus.
Wonderful mix of melody and power balanced nicely with keyboards. "Live tonight!"

This song contains everything DragonForce is: Good vs. Evil lyrics, awesome guitar, great riff, and a chorus you can't help but scream out.
It's my favorite song to listen to after I wake up and head off to work.
Very feel-good song and epic at the same time. The guitar solo is striking!
It's the first one I ever heard from them, and it got me hooked for life.

This is my number one favorite song of all time. There is no question why this is up here. The first time I heard this song, it was the fifth DragonForce song I heard, which I played on Guitar Hero. The first thing that caught my ear was the screaming. Then I heard the techno sounds and the "time to try and hold on," and finally that epic guitar sequence after the awesome "heaviest riff ever," as Guitar Hero called it. This is without question the best guitar sequence I have ever heard. The rest of the song is epic too.

All of their songs have amazing intros, along with fantastic duo guitar solos, and great sound effects with some nice synth melodies to follow up.
I feel this song has all of this mixed in really well.
This song is their very best, if you ask me. I used to really dislike metal, but this song has changed my mind. The first time I heard it, I was convinced immediately.
This song is just extraordinary. Lots of diversity, incredible vocals and lyrics, different types of sounds, and one of the best intros to a song I've ever heard.
10/10.

This is my second favorite DragonForce song. I mentioned in Revolution Deathsquad how epic the guitar sequence was, but in terms of overall epicness, this song takes the cake. It took me a while to get the hang of it, mainly because the lyrics don't repeat until the end. In my opinion, the opening sequence is what elevates this song so much.
Normally, I despise the overuse of techno sounds in music, which is why I didn't gravitate toward E.P.M. However, I like it when they mix it well with the rest of the music. In that respect, the opening sequence of this song is my absolute favorite.

Easily one of their most memorable songs. I won't be surprised if this becomes their most iconic in the near future. Beautiful verse, especially the short mid-verse solo that takes you completely by surprise, and an astonishingly catchy chorus. I have no words for the bridge. I just feel blessed to have heard it.
If you check out this track before voting, it will automatically make its way to the top. No doubt about it.
After listening to this album for the first time months ago, this instantly became my number one pick for any DragonForce song. Not only are the lyrics structured perfectly with a foggy but consistent storyline, but if you were to put the lyrics into a storyboard, they would fit perfectly as events.
All aspects of this song truly deserve praise: vocals, solo, chorus, theme, and a perfect opening bridge.
The Newcomers

Very rarely is a cover of a song from a movie better than the movie. But DragonForce took this CĂ©line Dion ballad and transformed it into a metal banger perfectly!

It's about Starship Troopers. That alone is enough for it to rank a few places higher.
This is a great song to get motivated by.

I love this song! I think it's their best ever. It sounds so amazing. It's perfection.

This is my sixth favorite DragonForce song. This song is probably DragonForce's most easily and dangerously catchy song. The lyrics are a piece of cake to remember, and the transition from the slow and steady part to the fast and furious part is epic. The guitar solo is awesome. All you need is Chuck Norris.
Wow! I cannot get the chorus out of my head, and the intro and ending show the softer side of DragonForce, if there is such a thing. Somehow it works.
When I heard this song for the first time and heard the guitar drop with JP singing "Where dragons rule!" I knew this was going to be a new favorite of mine.

This is my third favorite DragonForce song. It was a close call between this and "The Last Journey Home." In my opinion, the opening sequence wasn't epic enough. Initially, I had "Soldiers of the Wasteland" in this spot because of the middle part where it's slow and the guitar riffs are cool. But that rapidly went down the list once I came across this song, which has a much cooler guitar sequence in the middle, plus that wicked keyboard solo afterward.
I don't know what to say. Let me tell you, people have forgotten to listen to songs. Why is this song so low in position?
This song has everything a metal song needs: what a solo, keyboard work, awesome riff. So vote for this song, guys.

This is actually one of my favorite DragonForce songs and is in my top 10.
I'm surprised this and Black Winter Night aren't higher up, especially this one. The chorus gets me every time.

DragonForce's new album is easily their best. This track and Tomorrow's Kings immediately became my two favorites. Give the Maximum Overload album a listen.
An awesome song, telling the story of how it's all about the important things in life that matter.
This is the perfect song to listen to after you've had a bad, frustrating day.
This song sounds like it's on crack. Played at 240 bpm, it's their fastest song to date. Best of all, it's an awesome song!

This is my ninth favorite DragonForce song. It's one of the first DragonForce songs I ever heard, and it definitely deserves to be in everyone's favorites. This is like the ideal image of an epic metal song. The beginning sequence is just epic. No other words can describe it. It's only this low because there were just eight better ones.
I'm shocked that this isn't first. This song got me to listen to DragonForce. I hope this song rises in place!
This song is the best song ever, way better than Through the Fire and Flames. If you haven't heard it, you should.

This song has very emotional lyrics, and they are especially brought out in its acoustic version. In my opinion, it sounds like it is speaking of repairing one's soul after a tragedy.
This is now my favorite DragonForce song! Keep up the good work!
Okay, their latest and best song, it's so epic they made a damn acoustic version for it, and it's rated 30? This is stupid as hell.
This song is the best. I've heard all the ones on the top of this list, and this one is still better. I'm sure everyone agrees.
Absolutely amazing song. I have heard every song they have created, and it is hard to pick a favorite.
However, I believe this is one of their most creative, catchy, fast, and brilliant songs.

Probably the best DragonForce song, in my opinion, and possibly the best song I've ever heard. The soft piano start gives you a feeling of relaxation and happiness, and then it builds up with an acoustic guitar while still giving that feeling.
The heavier parts give you the "Oh yeah! I'm gonna do it!" feeling.
Every part of this song is to love. This song is so great that I wished it was longer.
This song is more beautiful than Through the Fire and Flames. It reflects a new world with harmony, glory, and happiness, without wars and conflicts.
Especially the intro with acoustic guitar and the beautiful solo of Herman with Sam.

Yeah! This song has a great chorus! I think it should be ranked higher.
It should get the first rank of best DragonForce songs! Truly epic, great solo, and magnificent chorus. This song also has a good melody too. Best song ever from DragonForce!
Lovely everything. Besides, I also feel that DragonForce is way too underrated. To me, it is one of the best bands ever made.
Great progressive feel at the start, incredible guitar (what else would you expect from DragonForce?). Just an epic song.
It's so hard to pick a best song from these guys. Rock on, DragonForce!

In my opinion, this should be in the top 5. It's one of their most well-written songs, if not the most well-written.

The key changes in this song are absolute solid gold, and the whole track is genius. This song is much better than Heroes of Our Time.
The only reason it is so low is that nobody knows anything about them before Guitar Hero 3. Valley of the Damned is the best album, period.
I don't know why this song is so far down. It is an insane song. I really love the chorus. Such a great song.
Perfect mix of everything. It's one of my favorites.

The song is pure beauty. Slow, soft, and unlike other DragonForce songs, but the solo is still comparable to others. The lyrics are just amazing, and ZP rocks too.
I can't say this is the best song by DF, but it's different and something I'd like to listen to once in a while when I'm not in the mood for power metal.
Trail of Broken Hearts... it's a timeless song of mythological love that has crossed time and spread beyond. It's a new window.
It makes us feel that not getting what you want can be epic sometimes!
Very good ballad and very good guitar solo!

Most motivational and touching DragonForce song ever. ZP's vocals are outstanding and really touch your soul.
One of my favorite songs from them. Probably in my top 5.
The best one is finally starting to get recognition?

Probably one of my favorites and by far the most dramatic song.
