Top 10 Megadeth Songs with the Greatest Guitar Solos
The very best guitar solos by any guitarist from Megadeth.
Absolutely the correct place for this song. It not only deserves the first place here, but it's the best song in metal history. Don't be mistaken. It's the best metal song, with awesome lyrics, awesome drums, and an epic guitar solo. Hats off to Marty Friedman, an epic but the most underrated guitarist. I love Slash, and I have heard people talking about him, but I never hear anyone talk about Marty Friedman. In fact, in my school, I was the only one who knew about these two guitarists. Megadeth! The name alone suggests how extreme they are, and this is the best song by this band and the best ever in metal history.

I love Tornado of Souls, but it's Dave Mustaine playing on it, so he probably created it. However, the Holy Wars solos are far better for me. This should be number one. A masterpiece indeed.
This solo is a masterpiece. A huge piece of art. From the sweeping buildup to Mustaine's shredding part, it is a flawless guitar solo and definitely their best.
Oh come on, how is this not number one? It makes the other solos look rather lame. The buildup is so epic. Not to mention the vocals and riffs give class to other songs!

The second part is just jaw-dropping. No one can understand it the first time, but once you understand it, you'll really admire Mustaine's work.
Marty Friedman's guitaring here is just epic beyond measure.
Dave Mustaine, however, once again proves to the world that he is the greatest guitarist who has ever lived!
This track has the fastest, most, and best solos of any other Megadeth tracks!

This is better than Tornado of Souls, in my opinion.

How can this not be number one or two? I think everyone would agree that this is one of Megadeth's best solos, which certainly comes next to Tornado of Souls.
Not their very best, but this one's getting my vote as it is so awesome! Also, I like pretty much any of the solos off Rip. That was Marty at his finest!
This needs to be higher. The solo is unbelievable. Sadly, it's not one of their most known songs. Also, I miss "Victory" and "Rattlehead" in the top 10. I recommend listening to them as well.

A very good and appropriate solo! It's simply perfect for the song. I could hear it 1,011,312,312 times and I would never get tired of it!
Absolutely legendary! Deserves to be in the top 15 at least. This is a hidden gem that fans conveniently forget.
The most underrated solo ever!

Are you kidding me? #19? This solo is absolute classic Friedman. It is pretty much impossible to listen to this and not feel amazed or like a badass. This is my most favorite Marty solo from his whole career with Megadeth. Better than Tornado in my opinion.
This is one of the greatest guitar solos ever, let alone among Megadeth's.
The solo that made me fall in love with Marty Friedman.

The second part is madness! These solos are wonderful!

Fits the rhythm perfectly. The first solo by Marty just sets perfectly in your head. The second solo by Dave is one of the fastest he has written. I found it hard to play.
In this album, we can find the finest guitar performance by Megadeth. In every Megadeth album, there is a special song dedicated to guitar lovers. I think Lucretia is the one representative in Rust in Peace.
It's hard to pick between Lucretia and Tornado of Souls, but this solo wins the battle. I don't understand why it's so low on the list!
The Newcomers

Sounds great. It is really hard to play.
From the beautiful acoustic intro to the electric guitar, it is just magical.

How come that one wasn't even listed? An absolute masterpiece by Dave Mustaine himself, and one of the earliest thrash shredding classics.
Great solo! That tapping at the start of the solo is genius. Definitely deserves to be in the top 10.
This one struck a nerve. It's my all-time favorite.

In the beginning, there are only subtle bends (done by Chris) which create a beautiful melody. Behind it is a clean rhythm, then Dave lets loose. Listen and be amazed.
That intro solo is the most bone-chilling, emotion-building lump of guitar magic I've ever heard.
Chris Poland's solos are so underrated. There need to be more of them on this list.

The intro solo is just amazing.
This and Tornado of Souls are their best.

That lick in the final solo that he keeps coming back to (and eventually ends it with) is so addictive. Great shreds and unique to fit that part seamlessly into the rest of the solo.
The little shreds that Marty does are just amazing and really melodic. I'm really surprised that this solo was not on the list.
Mustaine's solo at the end gives me goosebumps. This is the best track from Rust in Peace, for sure.

This is my second favorite Megadeth solo (behind Tornado of Souls). In my opinion, this should be at least in the top 5. I think the reason it's so low is that it's not one of Megadeth's most popular songs and is kind of underrated. But it's an amazing solo.

Great solo! Marty, as usual, combines exotic scales, bends, major-7 chords, and arpeggios in a fast, but very melodic way.
A thing of beauty, as all of these top-voted ones are. But this one always gets me over and over.
This solo might be a bit under the one from Tornado, but the song as a whole is so much better. I'd put it at number one!

Oh god, I played this song like 100 times the first day I downloaded it! The lyrics make you think about a lot of things.

Very nice. Tornado of Souls, then Trust. That's my top 2, I mean for real.

The music was made by Mustaine when he was in Metallica. That's why two bands play it with different lyrics. By the way, awesome riffs and solos.
This one immediately follows Dave's second solo. It's only a couple of seconds long, but Poland plays the absolute best notes anyone could have played at that time! It starts off with an awesome fast run and then some godlike bends. It's easy to miss, but if you listen for it, it's genius.
I love this solo. Tornado of Souls is hands down the best, but Wake Up Dead is my personal favorite because it's very fun and easy to cover, especially since I've only been playing for six months.
I agree with the other guy. As soon as the Arabian scale kicks in, this becomes the best solo in Megadeth's catalog!

This solo is really funky and fun to listen to. He goes all over the place but somehow keeps it all flowing together. The technicality of it is great, too. Marty Friedman shredding at its finest.
