Country music has had a pretty big year in 2026, with so many big names releasing songs, like Luke Combs with a hit album and Morgan Wallen releasing a new song. Then, the elephant in the room has to be Ella Langley. This has been her year over anyone else in country music. It's official she's reached superstar status. I'm excited for what's to come next for country music.

I think this is Luke's biggest hit song on his latest album The Way I Am. I love the bold instrumentals in the very beginning.
This song is a heartfelt ballad about missing someone. In Luke's case, it's about missing his wife while he's on tour, and how he's kinda stuck in this hotel room dealing with the feeling of loneliness in the middle of the night, with howling winds and the TV being on at 2 AM, and that feeling of not being able to sleep because of being lonely and thousands of miles away from home.
This is one of those songs that a lot of people can relate to, especially those who travel for work on a regular basis or are just a long way from home, and the mental toll being far away from loved ones takes on someone.
Be Her - Ella Langley

This song came out in late March 2026 and has seemingly blown up in popularity since then. I kind of like the clinking glass and silverware at the very beginning of the song. It's a nice touch.
This song is basically her describing the ideal woman who has her life together, like "she drinks wine by the glass not by the bottle" and isn't dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. It then talks about how she's a mother, lover, sister, and wife, and doesn't need any validation. Basically, she's comparing herself to this ideal woman she has in her mind, kind of admits her insecure feelings, and says how she wants to be that woman so bad it hurts.
Honestly, the funny thing is that I think this song was meant for women to relate to, but it's really kind of the guys who have fallen in love with this song. I also love the guitar outro at the end of the song too.

The other biggest hit from Luke Combs' album The Way I Am is a smash hit. The song Be By You is a love song to his wife Nicole and basically how he wants to stay close to her no matter what. He says, "Where you are is where I belong," and the whole song is this sweet, intimate love song.
The whole song uses imagery and comparisons to basically say, "I don't wanna come off too strong, but I wanna be by you." It's kinda showing shades of his other songs like this such as Beautiful Crazy and Forever After All.

I'm actually surprised that I like this song as much as I do because I'm a non-Swiftie. Yes, people forget she can be country when she wants to. Of course, there are some pop elements in there as well. Taylor Swift returns to her country side.
Obviously, there were a lot of Easter eggs and social media speculation leading up to the song's release. This song was written for Toy Story 5, especially for Jessie, who is obviously the main character in this movie.

This song is one that came out of the blue and really put Stella Lefty on the map. This song is kind of a blend between country and pop.

It has this bittersweet breakup feeling to it between these two ex-lovers who are clearly done with each other, but they can't get each other out of their minds. Even when they try to convince themselves that they're over each other, the memories and emotions keep pulling them back to thinking about each other.
I like how this song has a contemporary yet modern feel, which is a style that Ella has really mastered herself.

Morgan Wallen is back at it again with yet another hit song, releasing on July 24, 2026, as his lead single from his next major album. My initial thoughts are that this song is definitely more pop than country, but this is a Morgan Wallen song we're talking about, so it's to be expected that he has a little more pop than country. This song has a kind of catchy beat to it.
Morgan Wallen's song talks about a stagnant relationship and how it's clearly run its course, the way both parties feel distant from each other. I mean, this is kind of what Morgan Wallen is known for, these relationship songs talking about things going wrong and spiraling into trouble. This song kind of fits that same vibe of if this relationship was truly meant to be, we would've made it work by now.
