Top 10 Most Hit or Miss Music Artists

These are music artists who sometimes make good songs and other times make bad songs. If there are any I've forgotten, feel free to add them.

Do I think he's the best music artist of all time? No. Do I think he's the worst pop singer of all time? Also no, because Chris Brown and Jason Derulo exist.

A lot of his early stuff is pretty subpar, although I will admit that Sorry is kind of catchy. Nothing mind-blowing, mind you, but serviceable enough.

Taylor Swift Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She was born on December 13, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift is best known for writing personal songs and has won 13 Grammy Awards... read more

I like some of her older stuff. Her newer material is pretty hit or miss.

Look What You Made Me Do is a career low point for her and something that just wasn't necessary.

I also kind of dig the song Style. It is pretty charming, I suppose.

Nickelback Nickelback is a Canadian post-grunge band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. The band consists of guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair... read more

They're the most hit-or-miss band I can think of.

How You Remind Me is a hit. Something in Your Mouth is an automatic miss. Not a fan of that one. Feed the Machine is a hit, but at the same time, Figured You Out is pretty bad lyrically.

Maroon 5 Maroon 5 is an American pop/pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California. Before the current group was established, the original four members, Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick, formed a band known as Kara's Flowers in 1994, while they were still in high school.

They had about two or three good albums before making generic commercial songs you'd probably hear at Walmart.

One More Night is probably one of their catchiest songs from the 2010s and one that I genuinely like. It's kind of heartwarming, and at least it's better than Animals. Honestly, anything is.

Coldplay Coldplay are a British pop rock band formed in 1996. The band consists of Chris Martin (lead vocalist and pianist), Jonny Buckland (lead guitarist), Guy Berryman (bassist) and Will Champion (drummer and backing vocalist). Manager Phil Harvey is often considered an unofficial fifth member. The band renamed... read more

Never was a big fan of them, but I never actively despised their music either.

Fix You is a pretty good song. I'll admit I love the melody, but some of their newer material seems a bit generic and kind of boring. There are exceptions, of course. Viva La Vida is also pretty iconic, I suppose.

Pearl Jam Pearl Jam is a grunge/alternative rock Band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. The band had comprised of Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament... read more

I've always considered them to be the least interesting band of the grunge era, especially with Vedder's constant yarling.

That said, they do have some good songs, most of which are from their first album. Lightning Bolt has a few highlights but also a few boring songs. They're the most hit-or-miss '90s band I can think of.

OneRepublic OneRepublic is an American pop rock band. Formed in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2002 by lead singer Ryan Tedder and guitarist Zach Filkins, the band achieved commercial success on Myspace as an unsigned act.

Despite being a massive fan of them and loving their first three albums, their newer stuff leaves a lot to be desired.

Secrets is one of my all-time favorite pop songs, and Love Runs Out is another catchy tune. It's mostly their newer material that just doesn't feel the same to me.

Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold is an American alternative metal band formed in 1999 in California. Their longest lineup consisted of M. Shadows (vocals), Synyster Gates (lead guitar), Zacky Vengeance (rhythm guitar), Johnny Christ (bass guitar), and The Rev (drums)... read more

No offense to fans of this band, but I can never fully enjoy any of their material.

Afterlife and Almost Easy are pretty good, but I can't stand A Little Piece of Heaven or Critical Acclaim. Hail to the King is also just not my cup of tea.

God Damn is pretty good, though.

Imagine Dragons Imagine Dragons is an American pop rock band from Provo, Utah, now based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. The band's lineup consists of lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and touring drummer Andrew Tolman... read more

Not the biggest fan of them, but I will admit that Demons is a pretty catchy song.

Natural is pretty laughable. It's also just super corny. I'm not a fan of any song they've released in this decade because it remains uninspired, but I digress.

I Wish You Well is also kind of decent.

Snoop Dogg Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr., (born October 20, 1971) known professionally as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper, actor, record producer, and television personality from Long Beach, California.

An iconic meme machine who can make some good stuff, but also some pretty mid material.

His album discography feels a bit mediocre. He has some highs, some pretty bad lows, and some that are just in between.

Gin and Juice is a banger, though, and I do dig some songs from his album Tha Doggfather.
