Best Male Singers of the 2000s

The Top Ten
1 Chester Bennington Chester Charles Bennington (March 20th, 1976 - July 20th, 2017) was an American musician, singer, songwriter and actor, best known for being the lead singer of Linkin Park. Before he was known for Linkin Park, Bennington was the lead singer of post-grunge act Grey Daze who was heavily inspired by Stone Temple Pilots they released two albums with Chester before his death. Wake Me and No Sun Today, a third album called Amends would be released in 2020 consisting of voice samples from Bennington. After Grey Daze dissolved, Bennington would join Linkin Parkin in 1999 formerly called Hybrid Theory, replacing former vocalist Mark Wakefield, who would go on to become Taproot's producer. Even with Bennington's vocal promise the band would get rejected five hundred times by Warner Bros, who felt unsure of the duo's rap-rock fusion, and turnable sound. Prompting to get Shinoda fired, but Chester persisted with the sound remaining the same. Eventually getting signed and began working on what would ...read more.

Chester was best out of the best. He screamed like a devil sang like an angel. Easily no. 1. And I admire him the most. My song list consists of linkin park songs only.

Miss his beautiful voice.

By far my favorite!

So amazing :0 love Linkin Park. He was so talented and his voice and his songs were so beautiful. Such a legend <3

2 Gerard Way Gerard Arthur Way is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and comic book writer who was the lead vocalist and co-founder of the American alternative rock band My Chemical Romance from its formation in September 2001 until its split in March 2013. His debut solo album Hesitant Alien was released on September 30, 2014. He also wrote the comic mini-series The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys and the Eisner Award-winning comic book The Umbrella Academy.

Gerard Arthur Way's claim to fame is being the foreman of the alternative rock band My Chemical Romance. The reason I rate him this highly is that no matter how he's vocalizing: screaming or barking lyrics or just plain singing, he sounds great. His singing voice is nothing short of unique: varied, but you know who it is as soon as you hear it. Another merit is Way's amazing, charasmatic stage presence that you don't even have to see him live to know is apparent. Good on ya', Gerard!

Yes, I am so glad that Gee is number 1! and he better stay on number 1! I love you Gee!

Gerard way is our lord and saviour our sass queen our my chemical romance

3 Adam Levine Adam Noah Levine is an American singer and songwriter. He is the lead vocalist for the Los Angeles pop rock band Maroon 5. Levine began his musical career in 1994, when he co-founded the band Kara's Flowers, of which he was the lead vocalist and guitarist. The band split up after their only album, The Fourth World, which did not gain popularity. In 2001, the group was reformed – with guitarist James Valentine joining the line-up – and began a new musical chapter, changing their name to Maroon 5. In 2002, the band released their first album, Songs About Jane, which went multi-platinum in the US. Since then, they have released five more albums: It Won't Be Soon Before Long (2007), Hands All Over (2010), Overexposed (2012), V (2014) and Red Pill Blues (2017). As part of Maroon 5, Levine has received three Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award and a World Music Award.

No matter what sort of music you're into, you have to admit Levine's voice is something magical.

4 Brendon Urie Brendon Boyd Urie, more commonly known as Brendon Urie, was born April 12, 1987, in St. George, Utah. He is an American singer, songwriter, musician and multi-instrumentalist. He is best own as the lead singer of the American pop-rock band Panic! At The Disco. He is the only original remaining member. Urie is currently playing Charlie Price in Kinky Boots on Broadway. Brendon is also known for singing "I Write Sins Not Tragedies," the band's first hit song, in 2005. He also sings "Victorius," "Death of a Batchelor," and "This is Gospel." Brendon also has a very unique voice. He has a D2-C7, 4-octive range. He shows this in "Death of a Batcheor" and "The End of All Things."

He deserves the top position. He plays every instrument, his discography is diverse and ecclectic, and the his voice is amazing. Great vocal range, solid technique, amazing versatility. He is AMAZING.

Foreman of Panic! At the Disco, Urie's vocal abilities leave little to be desired. He has a nice way of playing a character through his voice.

Um... I'm sorry, Brendon should be #1. His cover of Bohemian Rhapsody says it all.

His vocals are greater than anyone else in current times.

So very versatile and he has an amazing range! From rock to punk to pop to Sinatra, he can do it all.

5 Billie Joe Armstrong Billie Joe Armstrong is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and actor who is best known as the lead vocalist, primary songwriter, and guitarist of the punk rock band Green Day, which he co-founded with Mike Dirnt. He's also in side-project groups such as The Network, Foxboro HotTubs, Pinhead Gunpowder, and The Longshot. His first group was a band called The Lookouts which disbanded after their 2nd album. He released a solo album consisting of covers in 2020 called "No Fun Mondays" ranging from rock and punk covers. He has a 2 and a half octave vocal ranger, but over time in 2020 and onwards his range has gotten slightly higher. Most notably in their Father Of All album, and during various live performances.

My favorite male singer of all time. Write many amazing songs with political and emotional value. You've gotta love green day!

6 Frank Iero Frank Anthony Iero, Jr. is a musician who was the rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist of the alternative rock band My Chemical Romance as well as the vocalist of the post-hardcore band Leathermouth and electronic-hardcore act Death Spells.

A close second to Way is Frank Anthony Iero II. Iero has been quite involved in the music scene: as singer in the band Pencey Prep, rhythm guitarist for aforementioned My Chemical Romance, lead screamer in the project LeATHERMOUTH, and much more; the varied musical talent right there has to get him some recognition. His style is very unique, involving a mixture of spoken word, violent screaming, and a sort of baleful crooning that betrays his truly angelic singing voice. You don't run into someone like this very often.

7 Eminem Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is an American rapper, actor and music producer born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Eminem has sold over 300 million records making him the bestselling hip-hop artist of all time. In addition to his solo career, he is a member of D12 and (with Royce da 5'9") half of the hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil. Rolling Stone ranked him 83rd on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, calling him the King of Hip Hop. Including his work with D12 and Bad Meets Evil, Eminem has had ten number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and 5 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and 13 worldwide.

The best rapper of all time has the most hits the fastest rapper to this date

8 Bill Kaulitz Bill Kaulitz-Trümper, sometimes using the pseudonym Billy, is a German singer-songwriter born on September 1, 1989, best known for being the frontman, lead singer and writer of multi-platinum winning pop rock band Tokio Hotel. During the time his band was most popular in Germany, which was in the mid-to-late '00s, Kaulitz reached a-list celebrity status in his home country, and was known for his androgynous voice, looks and personality that partly sparked the German emo movement. In 2016, he released his first solo songs as a download-only EP. Kaulitz also works as an animal rights activist, being a vegetarian himself. Furthermore, he served as a judge on the 10th season of the German version of the casting show "Pop Idol", along his twin brother and band mate Tom Kaulitz.

It's not very often you run into a slightly feminine bombshell like Kaulitz here, the foreman of the German band Tokio Hotel. Kaulitz's high vocals can put Justin Beiber's 'Baby' to shame! It's really a wonder this guy isn't more popular than he is. The only reason I don't put him any higher is because his style, though angelic, is not the most varied.

9 Matthew Bellamy Matthew James "Matt" Bellamy is an English musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. He is most famous for being the main vocalist in alternative rock band "Muse".

Way better than Eminem

12 Ray Toro Raymond "Ray" Toro is an American musician who served as lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the band My Chemical Romance until their split in 2013.

Raymond Toro isn't very well known singing-wise; this is because up until recently he was the lead guitarist for My Chemical Romance. Now, please let me stop it with Ray here for a moment. I know some of you are thinking that I'm My Chemical Romance-obsessed and I'm letting this affect this top 10. Remember, this is my opinion. Toro has one of those rare voices where you can't detect any imperfections whatsoever. That's why he's up here.

13 Andy Sixx

Andrew Dennis Biersack, better known as Andy Sixx, is the lead vocalist of Black Veil Brides, though far from emo. He's got a deep, lovely voice and he's a pretty good screamer, if I do say so myself.

14 Michael Jackson Michael Jackson (Michael Joseph Jackson; August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American singer, dancer, and songwriter. Now, I'm cheating a little bit here since Dahaveie's more of a rapper/screamer/crunker than a 'singer'. However, you've got to admit he's got a signature style with that high voice of his, as well as an interesting stage presence and presence in general.

18 Usher Usher Terry Raymond IV is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor. Born in Dallas, but raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee was where he lived until moving to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 12 where his mother put him in local singing competitions all over the city.
