Top 10 Worst Music Moments of 2025

Here are some of the worst music moments of the year. I know it has just begun, but a lot has happened already.

The Top Ten
  1. Kanye West releases "Heil Hitler"

This should be ranked higher than the other listed Kanye West music moment.

This needs to be in the top 3 as soon as possible.

The name of the song itself is atrocious.

  2. P. Diddy continues to face sexual allegations

    P. Diddy is obviously a terrible person. The situation keeps getting worse, and it looks like we've recently discovered that Jay-Z and Beyoncé are also involved in this.

Let's hope he fades into obscurity, and fortunately, that process already seems to be underway.

  3. Kanye West promotes anti-Semitic messages on X and sells swastika T-shirts

Kanye's behavior has been concerning. It's no surprise that he would do something like this, especially considering how badly he damaged his reputation with the Vultures 1 and 2 albums.

This needs to be at #2 as soon as possible.

  4. Kendrick Lamar performs at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show

  5. "Not Like Us" by Kendrick Lamar wins both Song and Record of the Year

I agree with one part. It is a great song. But awarding a diss track as Song of the Year feels like a bit much.

  6. Bad Bunny is announced as the headliner for the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show

  7. Cardi B releases the album "Am I the Drama?"

  8. Drake releases "GIMME A HUG"

Kendrick, as we all know, won the beef last year. Since then, Drake has released all the garbage songs he possibly could. He released U My Everything with Sexyy Red, Wah Gwan Delilah with Snowd4y, and now this.

Drake always thinks he'll find a way to get back into popularity and musical relevance, but he keeps failing. This whole album is trash, and honestly, Anthony Fantano should've given it a 2/10.

  9. Billy Joel cancels his tour due to a brain abnormality

When I first heard this, I cried. I love Billy Joel.

  10. Bruno Mars and Sexyy Red drop "Fat Juicy & Wet"

Okay, APT. was really bad, but this is worse. Bruno had to work with Sexyy? This feels like straight up porn.

I thought Bruno was way better than this. He used to make really amazing songs and rocked the stage. The only thing unique about this is the music video, which includes a cameo of his two collaborators from last year.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

Win Butler and Régine Chassagne’s separation

The husband-and-wife founding members of Canadian indie rock giants Arcade Fire recently announced their split after 22 years of marriage. Arcade Fire is still touring as of now, but considering Win Butler has recently been accused of sexual misconduct and some key members departed one after the other, this split is putting the band's future into lots of uncertainty. Also, some bands such as ABBA, Cocteau Twins or Sonic Youth broke up due to the breakdown of an in-band marriage or couple, so it wouldn't be surprising to see AF call it quits in the next few years.

  13. ?

Sabrina Carpenter’s “Juno” is used by the White House in an ICE video

  14. The Contenders
  15. "Apt." by Rose and Bruno Mars hits a billion views on YouTube

I literally told my parents this is basically the radio friendly version of "Baby Shark." After all, it just repeats "apateu" 61 times. Yes, you heard that right.

I feel very disappointed in Bruno Mars for taking such a major step backward in his career by bringing this K-pop song to radio, especially when I rarely hear K-pop on the radio. And it hit a billion views? If you like Bruno, listen to "When I Was Your Man," "Locked Out of Heaven," "Just The Way You Are," "Leave The Door Open," anything but this.

Gen Alpha kids probably love it.

  16. R&B/Soul singer Roberta Flack dies at the age of 88

Roberta Cleopatra Flack (February 10, 1937 - February 24, 2025) was an American singer who topped the Billboard charts with the No. 1 singles "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," "Killing Me Softly with His Song," and "Feel Like Makin' Love." She holds the distinction of being the first solo artist... read more

Rest in peace to Roberta Flack, known for her unique singing voice and her complex melodies.

She did much more than just cover Killing Me Softly With His Song, which she is best known for. May she be remembered for decades to come.

  17. A-ha's Morten Harket reveals his Parkinson's diagnosis

This is such sad news for music. Morten Harket, best known for being the lead singer of Norwegian synth-pop band A-ha, revealed he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and it affects his singing.

Considering his vocal technique on songs such as "Take On Me," it's really sad to hear.

  18. Joey Bada$$ revealed that his label, Columbia Records, refused to put out his album, "Lonely at the Top" on its scheduled date

  19. Beyoncé wins AOTY for "Cowboy Carter"

Okay, Beyoncé's a gifted singer with great ideas, but I felt like this album didn't bring anything new or interesting to the table. I knew I wasn't going to like the album when I heard Texas Hold 'Em, a simple pop-disguised-as-country track with simply written lyrics.

Beyoncé is trying to fight racism, but this album, like nearly every one of her others, fails because she doesn't change her background qualities, which is a problem for me. If you think that I didn't listen to the album, and you think it's good, and you think that I do drugs (LoveMusicLoveLife), just see my comment on her cover of Jolene and you'll see that I did listen to it.

I will always prefer listening to Brat, even if I did like the album.

  20. Jessie J reveals she has breast cancer

The English singer, best known for her hits "Price Tag," "Domino," and "Bang Bang," has just been diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer at age 37.

Considering she had released new songs recently, it looks like her comeback isn't going as expected. I hope she feels better soon and beats cancer. Sending all my prayers to her.

  21. Tom MacDonald drops "Daddy's Home" with Roseanne Barr

As of February 2025, this is the worst song of the year. Obviously, it's Tom MacDonald, who has released other "bangers" like "People So Stupid," "Fake Woke," "American Flags," and "Facts." This time, it's the week before Trump's inauguration, and here he is. He's Canadian, he cheers for Trump, heavily uses technology, and brings in an elderly Roseanne Barr.

A Trump supporting Eminem clone was never going to be a good idea.

  22. Lady Gaga releases "Abracadabra"

  23. The death of Brian Wilson

He was one of pop music's last geniuses and the co-founder of The Beach Boys, who are now three (including two remaining co-founding members). May he rest in peace and happily reunite with his brothers Carl and Dennis so they can harmonize together in heaven.

This is such a heartbreaking loss for the music industry. The co-founder of The Beach Boys just passed away at the age of 82. RIP.

  24. Timbaland introduces the AI artist TaTa Takumi

  25. A man falls to his death during an Oasis concert at Wembley Stadium

What a sad tragedy that happened at one of Oasis's recent shows. A massive fan of the band, who was excited for their reunion, fell to his death after reportedly slipping on beer. I've also heard of other people suffering minor injuries from slipping on beer as well.

It's heartbreaking that he died on what should have been a special night for him. My heart goes out to his loved ones. This is also a death that could have easily been prevented.

  26. Alessandra Basher releases "We Thank You, Elon Musk"

This disaster of a song deserves to be in the top three worst releases of the year. Praising a literal Nazi from South Africa who is helping Trump?

Who asked for this "song" that praises a billionaire who thinks he's better than everyone else and has been riding Trump's coattails?

I recommend we don't give Alessandra Basher any more attention after this.

  27. Josh Freese is fired from the Foo Fighters

This is definitely one of the most shocking music moments as of late, when Josh Freese (someone any band would kill to have as their drummer), who joined the Foo Fighters after the death of their longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins, was let go from the band without any explanation.

I didn't see this coming at all, as I thought Josh was a fantastic addition to the Foo Fighters, and I don't really like that they fired him with no reason why he was whatsoever. It hurts to say, but it looks like Dave Grohl's "nice guy" persona is starting to go up in flames, and maybe has been already ever since fathering a child outside his marriage.

  28. Silento is sentenced to 30 years in prison

In early 2021, the singer behind "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" was arrested for murdering his cousin. He has now been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his horrible crime.

Talk about ruining your career for good.

  29. The death of Ozzy Osbourne

We just lost yet another music legend. The Prince of Darkness himself just passed at the age of 76, just weeks after his farewell concert.

    RIP.
