Top 10 Best Rock/Metal Rap Bands
A list of bands who combine rap and rock into their music. The biggest misconception on Earth, no, the universe, is that Green Day is better than Linkin Park! The truth is that Linkin Park has established its supremacy over other bands, and Green Day produces music that, with the exception of Boulevard of Broken Dreams, is generally boring.
Linkin Park produces fantastic songs in whatever genre they choose. For example, in rock/rap, they have 99 Problems/One Step Closer (ft. Jay-Z), Papercut, and Faint. In the soulful/calming/emotional genre, they have Leave Out All the Rest and Breaking the Habit. Their social genre includes What I've Done, and in electro, they have A Light That Never Comes (ft. Steve Aoki).
So, people, Linkin Park is a magical band that produces heavenly music. They have sent other bands scrambling and have earned the top spot like a god!
What is Hollywood Undead doing? They don't even have a message. Their music is a joke! RAGE has a message and makes it clear. Best band ever, in my opinion. Morello = best guitarist ever, Commerford = amazing bass lines, Brad Wilk = epic drummer, and Zack = one of the best rappers ever. One of, not the best!
Rage Against the Machine is the greatest rap/rock band in existence, no questions asked. Zack is one of the greatest rappers, and Tom is one of the best guitarists in history. Plus, they're backed by a great bassist in Tim and a fantastic drummer in Brad.
Hollywood Undead is a rap-rock band with members from different musical backgrounds. Charlie Scene has a rapping and singing style heavily inspired by Eminem. J-Dog has a unique songwriting style, essentially expressing dark thoughts, and is able to rap and sing as if the two were one and the same.
Johnny 3 Tears has a songwriting style similar to J-Dog's, focusing on expressing dark thoughts. He has a strong, masculine singing/rapping voice, although he doesn't perform as well live. Danny, while not a songwriter for Hollywood Undead, has a singing voice that is easily recognizable in their songs. Although he sometimes sounds like J-Dog or former band member Deuce, his high-pitched voice is soothing on softer tracks like Believe and From The Ground.
Lastly, Funny Man has a distinct, very low voice that fits his persona in the songs he sings/raps in, such as Party By Myself and No.5. All in all, Hollywood Undead is a great band and deserves to be remembered as one of the greatest rap-rock bands in the world.
I'm not very big on nu/rap metal. Nothing against it, just don't get into it personally. However, I do like Limp Bizkit because they're heavy and exciting.
Just check out their Metallica - Sanitarium cover. That performance alone shows how great they are, apart from their massive hits.
I Eat You Alive and Alive and Alive... All the others don't come close to RATM. They have true meaning in their lyrics and come at you with a variety of rap, hard rock with bold lyrics, and a bit of metal and funk. They're awesome.
Sonny's lyrics are the best on this list. Listen to "On the Grind" (Sonny's verse) and "Sounds Like War." You have to be kidding that Limp Bizkit is higher ranked than P.O.D.
I guess if songs aren't about sex, drugs, or killing, then they aren't worthwhile.
If you want to hear a good rap/rock song, go on YouTube and listen to P.O.D.'s "Murder One."
P.O.D. rocks so hard! Not only that, but their lyrics are better than any other band on this list. In a world where profane rants are the rule, P.O.D. stands out as something different. P.O.D. should be first, with Linkin Park a close second.
It fills your brain and your heart completely! Every song is perfect, and the sound is just heaven to your ears.
Their latest album F.E.A.R is the best thing ever. I have it on repeat constantly. The song Gravity is the best.
I cannot say it better than this: Every song is perfect and the sound is just heaven to your ears.
Hey bartender, hit me with a double!
Should be higher on this list (if not #1 overall). The only reason I can even fathom for why they aren't is because they only had one "mainstream" hit ("Butterfly"), which means most people only know them by that one song.
If people listened to their other stuff, they'd realize they sound nothing like that one song.
The Beastie Boys were the ones who pioneered rock/rap. With albums like "License to Ill" and "Paul's Boutique," which rank on the list of best albums ever, they are amazing musicians. They rap all the time but also play all their own music. They don't use samples or anything. It's rock music that is rapped over. They are geniuses.
RIP MCA
Three guys who are among the greatest bands ever and are still relevant years later. They cannot be topped.
Beastie Boys 7th? These top 10 lists are always whack!
Bosses! They show people what rock and rap are all about. Their techno mix is off the hook. They're number 1!
TFK are just too good. Listen to Phenomenon and tell me they shouldn't be number 1. Their songs all vary in sound yet sound good in their own way. Get to number 1!
I accept why Linkin Park is 1st, but TFK must be in 2nd. Have you ever listened to Phenomenon?
They don't know good music. TFK is the best rock band! Linkin Park does not deserve the top spot!
Badass band. My favorite song is Middle Fingers Up!
If their only stand-out song was Down, they would deserve a place on this list. However, it isn't, so they deserve a higher place on this list.
These guys get no credit! The most unique sound in the last 30 years! They should be a lot higher on this list!
You've got to Come Original. Nobody above can come original.
Why not take a turn by GROOVSHARK.com and find out for yourselves? If you're into music, don't tell me these youngsters do not belong at the top of this list. And by the way, why not listen to their first album "Deaf Dumb Blind"? Just buckle up and let CLAWFINGER take control of the throttle.
Swedish Hardcore Rap Metal Band Clawfinger belongs at least in the top 5 on this list.
Really? 26th? This is dumb. Just because they're not as famous as Linkin Park or Hollywood Undead, they deserve way more credit than this. It's incredibly rare to find a rap-rock band that actually has quality instrumentals. A lot of them don't even have actual drummers, and these guys take it to a new level.
The guitarist, bassist, and drummer all have incredible skill. In later albums, the band makes a point to show it, even incorporating solos and advanced musical techniques such as polyrhythms. I'd be willing to accept them not being number 1, if only because of the lack of fame, but 26 is unacceptable.
