Top 10 Songs You Discovered Thanks to TheTopTens

People share tons of music on The Top Tens and probably everybody found new songs that liked.
Let's hear these songs.

The Top Ten Songs You Discovered Thanks to TheTopTens

1 Pictures of Home - Deep Purple

I probably heard this song before but didn't pay attention to its uniqueness - it has 5 solos on 4 instruments.
I gave it a listen thanks to comments on the list "Top Ten Deep Purple Songs". Now it's one of my favorite Deep Purple songs. - Metal_Treasure

2 Planet Hell - Nightwish

Actually, I found it on YouTube, and is now my second favorite Nightwish song next to Stargazers.

I suddenly liked this song when somebody added it to one of my lists.
By the way, there aren't many metal songs on my current list because I knew lots of metal songs before the Top Tens. I wouldn't say I discovered here a metal song that blew my mind. - Metal_Treasure

Nightwish for the win! - DynastiSugarPop

3 Burn It to the Ground - Nickelback

Never paid attention to Nickelback before the Top Tens but Nickelback were so much criticized and hated that I checked them out. They are not my cup of tea but I fell in love with this song - I love hard rock and this is pure hard rock (not post-grunge). - Metal_Treasure

Lol... Nickelback - ryanrimmel

@ryanrimmel: haha - yes, I liked this song. I should write a post "My life before and after The Top Tens", LOL - Metal_Treasure

4 Pluto - Sleeping at Last

@IronSabbathPriest - I like astronomy, too. I found these planet songs while I was making the list "Top 10 Songs That Mention Names of Planets, Moons, Constellations and Stars In the Title".

I didn't remember the exact title of a Hendrix song with Neptune in the title so I YouTubed "Jimi Hendrix - Neptune" and the correct title was "Valleys of Neptune". But I also noticed the suggested songs by a band that did the whole Solar System! I liked these planet songs and made the list "Best Songs by Sleeping at Last Named After Planets, Stars and Moons".

So astronomy and music, 2 in 1. I love it. - Metal_Treasure

This band and their planet songs are very interesting - considering my passion for astronomy, which may not be as obvious on this site however I've made a few lists related to the subject of astronomy. - IronSabbathPriest

I found it accidentally on YouTube while making a Top 10 list. I also liked their song Saturn and eventually made a Top 10 list about this band (Sleeping at Last). - Metal_Treasure

5 Anya - Deep Purple

Again, I probably heard it before but IronSabbathPriest helped me pay more attention. - Metal_Treasure

6 My Baby's in Love with Eddie Vedder - Weird Al Yankovic

I knew many other songs but not this one - a very funny song, too. - Metal_Treasure

7 Extreme Ways - Moby

I've heard of this song thanks to this list and even though it's not my typical music genre I really liked it. - Metal_Treasure

Speaking of Moby, We Are All Made of Stars was another-ahem-stellar song that I discovered through this site as well (thanks)! - keycha1n

Glad you lot are enjoying this. Have you heard Lie Down In Darkness? - PositronWildhawk

I voted for this again as my first comment seems to have gone on the trot... - Britgirl

8 Blackbird - Alter Bridge

Recently found this one, but it wasn't because of this site. I think it's not nearly as good as people make it out to be, but it's still a pretty great song. - Alpha101

9 Runnin' Down a Dream - Tom Petty

I think I heard it on the radio but never knew the artist. Somebody added it to one of my lists and I heard the sample. It's not my type of music but there is something I like in this song - maybe the riff and the rhythm. - Metal_Treasure

10 Evil - Mercyful Fate

The Contenders

11 Thank God It's Monday - Nofx

Nothing special but sometimes I like it. - Metal_Treasure

12 A Change of Seasons - Dream Theater
13 Blood and Thunder - Mastodon
14 Holiday - Green Day

Green Day is a very cool band. - DynastiSugarPop

15 Heavy Metal Lover - Lady Gaga

I don't like the song but I like the fact that Lady Gaga mentioned Heavy Metal, haha. Before the Top Tens, I didn't know this song existed. - Metal_Treasure

16 The Poet and the Pendulum - Nightwish
17 Sound of Madness - Shinedown
18 Burn Fast - Bryce Fox
19 Iris - The Goo Goo Dolls

Actually I didn't discover this thanks to TheTopTens. - lolingdog9000

20 Bohemian Rhaspody - Queen
21 Feels Like We Only Go Backwards - Tame Impala

I take sole credit for this. You're all welcome. - PetSounds

22 Shot In the Dark - Within Temptation
23 Thoughts - Michael Schulte
24 Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) - Green Day

EDIT: I'm changing my mind - somebody added a song I didn't know but liked better than Good Riddance (Extreme Ways - Moby). So Extreme Ways by Moby goes to my Top 10 new songs. Not my type of music in general but a quite pleasant song. I needed some dance songs because you can't dance to metal... - Metal_Treasure

I am running out of ideas - the singer's voice is too nasal to my taste but I can tolerate this song. - Metal_Treasure

25 Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
26 Art of Life - X Japan
27 Faceless - Red
28 One - Metallca
29 We Are All Made of Stars - Moby

I am adding this on behalf of keycha1n. - Metal_Treasure

30 April - Deep Purple
31 Angels (Love Thy Brother Remix) - The XX

DubstepLover, one thing I am ever thankful for is you introducing me to this track. - PositronWildhawk

32 Limit to Your Love - James Blake

I had heard Retrograde before this, and I really liked it, but back then, I wasn't really into James Blake. This track is one I discovered through TheTopTens, and it made me realise what a fool I was for not being a fan. - PositronWildhawk

33 Come Undone - Robbie Williams
34 Here - Alessia Cara

I took a listen because of the trolls criticizing this, and I actually liked it. For an underrated non-metal/rock song it's really good. - Swellow

35 Basket Case - Green Day
36 Hands to Myself - Selena Gomez
37 Sacred Worlds - Blind Guardian
38 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
39 Morning After - Dead by Sunrise

Mislabeled as a Linkin Park song because the singer of Linkin Park sung for Dead By Sunrise.

40 Right Now - Samantha James

Actually many of her amazing songs!

41 Overrated - Three Days Grace
