Lose Yourself - Eminem
Actually I don't listen to rap music. Metal music is my life and so whenever I got time to visit this page I always voted for "One". But this is one song(also Stan) by one my favourite artists(Despite being in a genre I don't like). So beautiful lyrics. Eminem is modern day Dylan. Someone compared him to Robert Browning. And that's completely true. Motivating inspiring and breathless. "Success is my only M***** option, failure is not". Such words are not a child's play. I urge even metal fans to listen this song because this is one song that's musical and lyrically brilliant. Hail to the Oh! King Eminem.
I don't really enjoy most rap But I can listen to eminem why? Because he's exceptional and he pours so much of himself into its music that you can just feel the essence of his emotions and the effort he put in deeply ingrained into his music, And lose yourself is one of those songs its a song about rising up out of the depravity of his poverty stricken life its about fighting back and reaching to pull himself out of the trailer park town that he was otherwise doomed to spend he rest of his life in through what? Though Rap the only thing he was good at his musical talent saved his life and he really painted a lyrical picture. This is the cornerstone of his career.
Eminem is such a great rapper I don't see why he sing is listed as 102. People now a days don't know a good rapper when they see one its infuriating. I'm an Eminem fan because people don't know what he's been through if you stopped what you were doing and looked up his history on Google you'd see what I was talking about. His songs actually have meaning to it. And you "lose yourself" in his music.
It was written and produced by Eminem himself, became the first rap song to win The Academy Award for Best Original Song. In 2004, it was one of only three hip-hop songs from the twenty-first century to have been included on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and was also the highest ranking, at number 166. Has been certified quintuple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of 5,000,000 copies in the United States.
This in my opinion is the best song of all time.
Sure Bohemian Rhapsody, Imagine, Stairway To Heaven are AMAZING. But this beats them by an inch. Should I also say that Eminem is the best rapper to walk what we call Earth. I'm surprised Stan or even the Way I Am aren't here. Stan had an extremely symbolic character. And had the listener loving the beat, the lyrics, the story and the flow of song. But Lose Yourself in my opinion deserves number 1. But number 1 on best songs is Amazing. So, I guess that's fine too.
Top 5, Lyrics are amazing, message is so inspirational, the most inspirational song ever. Sending such an amazing message through a beat that pumps you up and gives you the feeling that you can do anything? Nothing can beat that. It's being over looked just because it is a hip hop song. That's what is wrong with a lot of people, they generalize rock and pop to be the only legendary genres a lot. This song even though it is hip hop, is better than most songs on the list.
If you had one shot, one opportunity,
to seize everything you ever wanted,
would you capture it, or just let it slip?
His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy,
there's vomit on his sweater already, moms spaghetti,
he's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready,
to drop bombs, but he keeps on forgetting,
what he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud,
he opens his mouth, but the words won't come out,
he's choking how? Everybody's choking now,
the clocks run out, times up over, now,
Snap back, oh, there goes gravity
LOSE YOURSELF IN THE MUSIC, THE MOMENT, YOU WANT IT,
YOU BETTER NEVER LET IT GO, GO,
YOU ONLY GET ONE SHOT,
DO NOT MISS YOUR CHANCE TO BLOW,
THIS OPPORTUNITY GOES, ONCE IN A LIFETIME.
I don't think it should be number 1 but top 5 at least like seriously the lyrics are perfect and he has great flow and rhyming skills plus it wasn't the first rap song to win these awards grammy award for best male rap solo performance grammy award for best rap song academy award for the best original song MTV video music award for best video from a film broadcast film critics Association award for best song and finally MuchMusic video award for Peoples choice: Favorite International Artist for nothing
How the hell can this be 65TH (?! ) and not at least in the top ten. Yeah true you might have classics and epic songs like Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway To Heaven but Lose Yourself is a song the normal average person would listen to (at least a safe one). If no-one wants to vote this then vote for Changes by Tupac or Stan by Eminem come on Rap is an art, not just a music genre.
This song is truly amazing. His lyrics are ever so inspirational and inspire many young people to follow their dreams no matter their age, skin colour, personality or back round! Ever single word is dripping with so much emotion and it sounds so beautiful. In my eyes it is the greatest song of all time within rap but it has a HUGE chance just generally. - cornaflakesaretasty
This song is the epitome of courage. I grew up being a coward and this song inspired me so much, listening to the story of Eminem as a rapper having anxiety and insecurities and being introverted, then overcoming them to ascend into the greatness he has become. This song made me from a cat to a lion. I'm a changed man because of this song. Well, it sounds awesomely epic as well.
Eminem is one of the best music artists ever and this song defines his greatness. He is easily the best rapper alive right now overshadowing all the other contenders by a fair margin. This song is simply fantastic, One of my favorites, Eminem is the role model of many people and not without reason, This song is a lyrical miracle. Simply fabulous, Deserves to be in the top 10.
This song should at least be at the top 10. Eminem is a lyrical genius and his songs are masterpieces. Believe it or not, Eminem is the most liked person on Facebook with more than 55 million "likes" surpassing Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Michael Jackson. Eminem is a true genius and no one can doubt that!
This is easily the greatest rap song of all time, and should be top 10 overall. The first verse might be the greatest rhyming I have ever heard in a song. This is the song that made rap a respecable music genre, that proved that hip hop is more than money and sex. It is insane, inspirational, and emotional all at the same time. Plus, it won an Oscar. How many songs in the top ten of all time have won an Oscar?
Speechless that this isn't number one. I've heard the top 15 and they SUCK! They're just voted by older people with no taste in music! This KILLS compared to Bohemian Rhapsody! It's not even close, this is WAY better. People who didn't vote for this just don't like Eminem. THIS is music! Not the trash above!
One of the best songs ever. It's not just Rap, it's a song with a message from a man who knows what he's talking about. Talking about things most people can't even imagine because they've never ever been into this situation.
I love all the songs on this list, but 99% of them are rock. I LOVE rock. But Eminem is not even looked at just because he is a rapper. This song is the voice of a generation. This song is just as memorable as every other song on this list. This song represents the youth of this generation.
The King of Hip Hop is Eminem! This was the greatest Rap song ever. If you will listen to this song and understand what is Eminem saying, then you will find out, how to be the 1st. Eminem is the greatest! He Rocks Rap And he Rules! Vote For Eminem - Lose Yourself!
I think that this is the most genius song every written in my opinion. The way this man thinks of these lyrical words is insane. He deserves to be in the top 10 if not #1 song ever. All his songs are fascinating, especially Lose yourself, Stan, Rock Bottom, 8 mile, without me and so on.
I normally cannot listen to any rap for more than two minutes, but Eminem is the exception. I mean, this is just one of his fawesome songs that are not about Gangbanging and Boning several women, this song is about how hard it was for him to be excepted as a White Rapper, and how he was so nervous to do it. Bravo, Mom's Spaghetti for life.
I Think Eninem Is The Best Rapper Ever And I Know That Marshall Has A Bad Attitude With His Swearing When He Swears I Don't Love But I Don't Car Because I Ignore Bad Language And I Will Never Say This Bad Words But I Love Rappers I Think Rappers Are Hot And Marshall Has The Magical Singing Career Of His Life I'm A Big Rapper Fan And I Know What Marshall Is Saying When He Sings He Is Such A Gangster And A Little Bit Of A Player He Is
This is a great song I agree. To rap, this song is the best but compared to other genres maybe this song can compete with other songs and this will surely captivate peoples hearts to listen more often to Eminem or listen to the genre of HIP-HOP.
Clearly the greatest rap song ever made, clearly in top 5 or 10 of all time, the lyrics, the beat, his flow, the whole subject, how he changes from his character from 8 Mile to his personality in real life - genius song, it definitely outclasses many other songs who are above
Deserves to be on the top 3 because he gives influential beats, motivational lyrics, a perfect rapper's flow, and the concept based on his life and struggles... Everyone just listen to it 1 time and you'll like it very much. I promise! - JayDJ98
The lyrics of this song have so much meaning and so much inspiration. You can really feel the struggles Eminem and many other people had to go through growing up in poverty. Overall, it is extremely motivational and also has a very well made rhythm.
