Top 10 21st Century Kids Shows

The Top Ten
  1. SpongeBob SquarePants

SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. It has become one of Nickelodeon's most popular and longest-running shows, attracting both children and adults.... read more

SpongeBob is the best show on Nick. I have been watching it ever since the first episode. I don't know what people are talking about when they say SpongeBob is annoying. His voice and laugh do not bother me at all. My favorite character is Squidward because he is really funny and sarcastic.

Still the best show ever on television. I am 18 and still a huge fan of the show. It is just awesome, fantastic, and the best show ever made.

SpongeBob is the best on Nick. TDI never! SpongeBob rocks, although the new ones are not as good as the old ones.

  2. Gravity Falls

Gravity Falls is an American animated television series produced by Disney Television Animation. Gravity Falls is one of the few shows in the world, let alone for children, that actually understands the concepts of time traveling, foreshadowing, and continuity.

The fact that it also doesn't belittle children's intelligence by dumbing things down and incorporates adult topics and jokes only makes it better. You say it's a rip-off of Scooby-Doo? Does Scooby-Doo have genuine sibling friendship? Does it have relatable characters with rich lives and backstories apart from each other? Does it have an awesome female lead whose traits are inherently feminine? Does it take place within a finite, believable timeframe? No? I didn't think so. So don't say it's a rip-off. Just. Don't.

Gravity Falls should be first on the list, no matter how long SpongeBob or Fairly OddParents has run.

    Peace out! -mckee11223

  3. Avatar: The Last Airbender

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an American animated television series that aired on Nickelodeon for three seasons from 2005 to 2008. Most would say that having a fictional world in which a war brings every neighboring country to the brink of disaster is a bad influence on kids. I'd say that this is very much the opposite!

Children aren't going to stay young forever. Some kids live in war-torn countries. When they watch shows like this, they can relate. Who in their right mind would watch SpongeBob and "relate" to the character?

It has a sense of reality in it that if someone told me this was actually happening in an alternate universe somewhere, I'd probably not have second thoughts! So well done, Nickelodeon. Now all you have to do to make my life better is to adapt the graphic novel Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi and turn it into a 2D animated show. Then you'll be top dog!

  4. The Fairly OddParents

The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. This makes me inspired to use my imagination more often and believe that you can do anything. It is also funny and some parts are romantic.

The series is imaginative, fun, and showcases something new every episode despite having a repetitive storyline.

I love the actions Perry the Platypus takes against Dr. Doofenshmirtz. The cool inventions that Phineas and Ferb create are great too.

Regular Show is SO awesome! It has a good mix of a bit of adult humor but more excitement and humor for kids to enjoy. With the main characters being a blue jay and a raccoon, you can put pretty much everything in it. (Its original motto was "Regular Show - it's anything but.")

It has the classic touch of succeeding but then realizing you forgot something, or you fail and everything goes okay. Mordecai (the blue jay) and Rigby (the raccoon) are two slackers who get into large scenarios and tend to get away with it from their angry but sometimes cool boss, Benson.

All the elements of this show make Regular Show the perfect TV series.

This show is so good that it should have never ended. I mean, come on, a boy that is smart and builds weapons. Now that's a show I will always watch.

I am still upset with Nick for canceling it. Very underrated.

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody is an American teen sitcom created by Danny Kallis and Jim Geoghan. I want to be the best, like no one ever was. Who doesn't sing the theme song whenever it turns on? No other show has 900 episodes, 17 seasons, a great storyline, and cool characters like this show.

Kids these days don't know what they missed. Those few 11-13 year olds and all the 14-26 year olds know what actual good shows are.

    You just have to agree.

The episode Racing to a Big Event is my second favorite TV show episode, behind Band Geeks from SpongeBob.

  16. Steven Universe

Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. The show centers around a young boy named Steven Universe, who is a hybrid of a gem and a human. He lives with his gem friends, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl.

This and Avatar: The Last Airbender both need to be at the top of the list. This show is amazing. It is the first Cartoon Network show to be created by a woman, it has one of the first LGBT couples shown on a "kids" show, and breaks countless other barriers. Great plot, action, humor, CHARACTERS, and everything in between.

    Love, love, love this show.
