Top 10 Best Nicktoons Shows

The Top Ten
1 Spongebob Squarepants SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator the late Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is currently the most popular show on Nickelodeon, as well as the longest running show, running for 23 years, and is beginning its 13th season... read more

This show is definitely the best cartoon ever. Seasons 1-3 were super amazing with all of the best episodes like band geeks.Seasons 4 and 5 were ok and had some good episodes like have you seen this snail? and breath of fresh squidward. Seasons 6-8 were the worst spongebob seasons ever.Seasons 9-10 got a little better but still not as good as seasons 1-3.

I only really disliked season 7. Season 6 and 8 have lots of redeeming qualities, and it is one of the best kids cartoons ever.

Spongebob stinks it's the 4th lamest show I have ever heard of in my life I never watched it ever.

2 Avatar: The Last Airbender Avatar: The Last Airbender is an American animated television series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008. Avatar: The Last Airbender is set in an Asiatic-like world in which some people are able to manipulate the classical elements by use of psychokinetic variants of Chinese... read more

Why anyone could vote for SpongeBob anymore is beyond me. What a load of trash. This show, however, is an artistic masterpiece, both in style and visuals and in character and writing. The worldbuilding is beyond compelling. It is truly the best animated series the world has ever seen in my own opinion, at least when it comes to serious, dramatic animated series. If this was about comedy shows on Nick, I'd probably vote for Rocko's New Life, or maybe older SpongeBob, but when taking overall quality into consideration, Avatar clearly wins in my book.

3 Invader Zim Invader Zim is an American animated television series created by Jhonen Vasquez for Nickelodeon. The series centers on an extraterrestrial named Zim from the planet Irk, and his mission to conquer Earth and enslave the human race along with his malfunctioning robot servant GIR.

What I like about this show is it's sense of humor. You have both light and dark humor. Most of the light humor comes from the comic relief character Gir, who is an actually funny comic relief character, while the dark humor is more spread out between the characters. I like the show's portrayal of humanity, oblivious to the fact that Zim is an alien, yet flipping out whenever a kid throws punch on the floor. The best part of the show is that nobody is the bad guy. Both Zim and Dib can win, unlike the shows with clearly defined heroes and villains, where the hero almost always wins. Fairly OddParents, Hey Arnold, and SpongeBob may try, but they will never top Invader Zim in my opinion.

4 Danny Phantom Danny Phantom is an American animated series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. It was produced by Billionfold Studios and distributed in Canada by Nelvana, a Canadian animation company. The series follows a teenage boy who, after an accident with an unpredictable portal between the human world... read more

Danny Phantom has a lot of meaning, actually, under all that rather child-like façade. It teaches one so many different values and the truths in our lives - honesty, morality, identity, everlasting friendships, how blind certain people can be to the truth when they simply follow the crowd. It revolves around Danny Fenton, whose parents, teachers and classmates who only see him as just another troubled, lazy teen, but what they didn't know is the other side of him. The selfless, persevering, ghostly Phantom.

Yet, despite his good deeds, he was still seen as a menace by many, and was even hunted by his own ghost hunting parents. Why? Simply because he is a ghost. And ghosts are supposed to be evil. No exceptions. The end.

This is why I feel that Danny Phantom should be ranked as the top few best shows of Nickelodeon. It holds so much potential and character development. So much that you would even be able to empathize with his troubles.

5 Hey Arnold! Hey Arnold! is an American animated television series created by Craig Bartlett that aired on Nickelodeon from October 7, 1996 to June 8, 2004. The show centers on a fourth grader named Arnold, who lives with his grandparents in an inner-city boarding house.

Perhaps not as creative and divisive as Zim or Airbender, Arnold just has such a special quality to it. It doesn't always have happy endings, the characters are deep (Helga, of course, is the standout), it had a wonderful jazz score (I listen to the music casually), the character designs out visually, it captures childhood beautifully, and it's also a lot of fun. I really do think it's the best Nicktoon.

One of the most sober cartoons ever made. Producers were careful to make main characters a lot more than the shallow and unreal figures you typically see in a kid's show. They have intricate personalities and many of the conflicts they are involved in reflect real-life struggles. And all in a very enjoyable fashion that made us appreciate it as kids.

6 The Loud House

I love this show so much. I love it's comic book art style, it's pop culture references, it's humor, the voice acting, it's relatability, and the chemistry between the Loud Siblings and the other characters on the show. Personally this is my favorite cartoon of all time

The loud house STINKS I heard of it but it looks lame and all of the whole stories are all lame. The loud house STINKS.

It used to be garbage, but it has gone just better and better...

7 The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.

Best Nicktoon ever, the writing is much better than SpongeBob. Unlike the current cash cow, Fairly OddParents actually has a plot and a zany cast. Even though the show went downhill when Poof came along (and KEPT ON GOING DOWNHILL when SPARKY and CHLOE arrived), it still had a longer classic era than SpongeBob. Butch Hartman, PLEASE bring this show back and remove Chloe! Keep Poof, but he isn't necessary.

The Fairly OddParents is the show that deserves the Kids Choice Award every year! NOT SpongeBob! Fairly OddParents is the best show to ever live and always will be! People of Nickelodeon and Nicktoons... DO NOT stop making new FOP episodes EVER! If this show dies, I die!

8 Rocko's Modern Life Rocko's Modern Life is an American animated television series created by Joe Murray for Nickelodeon. The series centers on the surreal life of an anthropomorphic Australian-immigrant wallaby named Rocko as well as his friends: the gluttonous steer Heffer, the neurotic turtle Filburt, and Rocko's faithful... read more

I have only seen a few episodes, but I really like this show. It's not as good as Rugrats and Ren and Stimpy, but it's still great.

These shows... are quite possibly the best shows in "the whole wild world! "

9 Rugrats Rugrats is an American animated television series created by Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain for Nickelodeon.

This show holds so many memories, nostalgia, And not to mention the wonderful characters and development and HUMOR. So much better than spongebob in humor! Deserves to be #1

Guys its on TeenNick about every night at 3-4 A.M. and on weekdays at 11-12 P.M.

Also it is the best nicktoon in my opinion.

Better than Spongebob. Even if Rugrats is another word for bad child.

10 Ren and Stimpy The Ren & Stimpy Show, often simply referred to as Ren & Stimpy, is an American animated television series created by John Kricfalusi for Nickelodeon.

This show is really hilarious, disturbing, and even has some heartwarming moments. One of my favorite shows hands down.

One of the best Nicktoons of all time of the 90s. The Adult Party one was really bad.

At least when John was there. The whole thing was a train wreck after that.

The Contenders
11 Harvey Beaks Harvey Beaks is an American animated television series created by C.H. Greenblatt for Nickelodeon. Originally announced to premiere on March 29, 2015, the series instead premiered on March 28, 2015 following the 2015 Kids' Choice Awards.

Really fun and adorable show that harkens back to the times of creative 90's Nickelodeon. Made by CH Greenblatt, the creator of Chowder, it's a really great watch and is one of modern Nick's current best toons. One one of the only things I tune into when I watch Nick nowadays.

Doesn't try to be hyperactive, hip or trendy. A more laid back, funny and very sweet show with some atmospheric background design, great music and amusing characters.

I love the art in most backgrounds of this show, plus it's like one of the best recent show on Nick along with The Loud House.

12 The Legend of Korra The Legend of Korra is an American animated television series that aired on the Nickelodeon television network from 2012 to 2014. It was created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino as a sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Cartoon Network has 5 good shows, but Nickelodeon has 1 good show, that is Korra. This is a spinoff of Avatar, and a good one. Now if only Planet Sheen was to say the same...

I'm in love with the legend of korra. Both this and the original are some of my top favorite shows

13 The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is an American computer animated television series created by John A. Davis. It is the first spin-off to the 2001 film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.

One of the best shows on nicktoons, they need to get rid of this new crap and put the classics back on, all this other stuff is stupid, I want my nicktoons to be loaded with all the good shows. Bring me back the shows I love

Jimmy Neurtron was the first CGI Nicktoon, and one of the best. Almost all of the plots were zany and interesting, it knew how to handle humor without turning into it's spinoff... Also it had mostly fully realized characters.

This show is a classic that had it all.

14 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an American 3D rendered computer animated television series based on the fictional superhero team. It aired on Nickelodeon in the United States from September 29, 2012 to November 12, 2017.

Ninja Turtles is the only good Nicktoon (Beside classic SpongeBob & FOP) currently airing. Most shows on the network nowadays are based around retards doing nothing but farting and playing games. That crap is only appealing to braindead five year-olds.

First of all Michelangelo is an idiot
Second of all it's funny
Third of all it's action packed

15 CatDog CatDog is an American animated television series created by Peter Hannan for Nickelodeon. The series depicts the life of conjoined brothers, with one half being a cat and the other a dog.
16 The Angry Beavers The Angry Beavers is an American animated television series created by Mitch Schauer for the Nickelodeon Channel The series revolves around Daggett and Norbert Beaver, two young beaver brothers who have left their home to become bachelors in the forest near the fictional Wayouttatown, Oregon.

Oh my gosh, I completely forgot about this show! The brotherly love/hate relationship between Norb and Dag is surprisingly charming and well done. Their dynamic (Norb super laid back, Dag manic) is hilarious and very entertaining. The animation was excellent back in the 90's and is still pretty today.

This should be #1, in my humble opinion.

17 The Penguins of Madagascar The Penguins of Madagascar is an American CGI animated television series that has aired on Nickelodeon.
18 Catscratch Catscratch is an American animated television series created by Doug TenNapel (also known for creating Earthworm Jim). It was aired on both Nickelodeon and Nicktoons on July 9, 2005 and ended February 10, 2007. It is an adaptation of TenNapel's graphic novel, Gear, which is also the name of the cats'... read more

I wish Nick let it stay longer. They decided to give it a single season and stretch it across two years (2005 to 2007)

19 My Life as a Teenage Robot My Life as a Teenage Robot is an American animated science fantasy television series created by Rob Renzetti for Nickelodeon.

I'm MALE, and I like this show. I genetically can't relate to the main characters, and I STILL enjoy it. THAT'S how good this show is.

Astro Boy was terrible, so what if they took that and added in Fredinator. You get a show with a robot being friends with 2 bros. and a nerd stalking her.

How are Breadwinners, Mr. Meaty, and Sanjay and Craig above this masterpiece?

20 Aaaah! Real Monsters

I honestly think this show is cool, even if I only see it on Teen nick at 11 PM or some time like that.

21 Dragon Ball Z Kai

Dragonball z kai is the best movie on earth! I love the actions and fighting it makes me feel like I am in heaven and my favorite people are Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, Chi Chi, and Piccolo.

22 The Wild Thornberrys The Wild Thornberrys is an American animated television series that aired on Nickelodeon. It was rerun in the United States on Nickelodeon and occasionally Nicktoons until November 1, 2007. The show returned to The '90s Are All That for one night, and aired on March 21, 2013. The show aired on Nicktoonsters... read more

Bunsen Is A Beast, El Tigre, and TMNT above this...really? Like this show is not perfect but it deserves to be in the top 20 and deserves to be higher than the 3 shows I mentioned.

23 All Grown Up All Grown Up! is an American animated television series created by Arlene Klasky and Gábor Csupó for Nickelodeon. It is a spin-off of Rugrats, and takes place about ten years after the original series where the characters are now pre-teen to teenage.Tommy, Dil, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Kimi, Angelica,... read more

Whenever I watched that show it always made me want to hang out with friends instead of staying inside all day. Awesome show!

A rare case of a spinoff that is actually loyal to the original show.

24 El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera El Tigre, or El Tigre II is the half superhero and half supervillain form of Manny Rivera. As such, El Tigre is what most of the show, El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera revolves around. Manny has used his El Tigre powers to be a hero to stop supervillains but has also committed evil deeds such... read more

This show is so underrated. Like REALLY underrated. It was funny, the action was good, the animation was really good. Why was it not more popular?

25 Rocket Power Rocket Power is an American animated television series. The series debuted on Nickelodeon on August 16, 1999. The series ended on July 30, 2004 after four seasons.

This was everything extreme about the late 90's and early 2000's. The theme song was amazing. So those are the only reasons this show is here.
