Top 10 Best Lost Characters
The mysterious island drama LOST hooked viewers with its complex plot, time skips, and that crazy ending! But even more fascinating than the show's endless twists and turns were the troubled but compelling characters the audience loved to follow. From tortured heroes and crafty villains to unexpected soulmates, the folks who washed up on the island were as diverse as they were flawed. Their struggles for survival, quests for redemption, and desperate desire to escape both entertained and frustrated for years.
Sawyer was the most in-depth character. He had an emotional past that gives him purpose and a way to understand him. He is also a very sarcastic and hilarious guy. He, in my opinion, gives the best performance acting-wise, and his character always knows how to spice things up when they are dull.
He is easily the best character! He has one of the two most tragic backstories (the other being Locke's) and is one of the coolest characters. He is such an a-hole, and that's what you'd love about him. He is sarcastic and loves to give people nicknames. He won't let anyone push him around, and I definitely ship him with Kate.
My top five characters in Lost are Juliet, Hurley, Claire, Libby, and Desmond. Desmond is such a realistic character. He was always quick to help people, saving Charlie's life over and over again. His relationship with Penny was amazing. "The Constant" will always be one of my favorite episodes.
He had a pretty wild backstory, having been in the army and then going to jail. (The jail thing was never fully addressed, so I'm not sure how he ended up there.) His friendship with Charlie was also endearing, especially with him having to tell Charlie that he was going to die...in multiple ways.
Desmond really showed what kind of character he was when he tried to swim down to the submarine instead of Charlie. He was funny and caring throughout his time on the series. Anyway, I'm done ranting, but Desmond is an awesome character.
His character is the reason Lost is so great, and the performance is also amazing. The list should go: 1. John Locke 2. Desmond Hume 3. Benjamin Linus 4. Charlie Pace 5. Sawyer Ford 6. Sayid Jarrah 7. Juliet Burke 8. Mr. Eko 9. Kate Austen 10. Jack Shephard. Honorable mentions: Jack Shephard, Jin Kwon, Sun Kwon, Michael Dawson, and Frank Lapidus.
By far the best character on Lost. It's a shame no one listened to him. He was always right, even when Jack admits it in the last episode. It's a shame that Ben killed Locke as well. But he was a great character played by a good actor.
Sayid should be at the top of the list or, at least, in the top five.
I love Charlie, but Sayid is one of the deepest characters. He's smart, sensitive, caring, strong, determined, and useful, which is very important on this island. He's so underrated! He deserves to be way up, guys. Sayid won't play the guitar like Charlie does, but his storyline is way more interesting than Charlie's. Gotta love Sayid. I just wish everybody would love him more.
He's one of the most useful survivors on the island, and he's also one of the toughest guys there. He also has one of the best stories, in my opinion.
Charlie is the best! He stars in an X-Men movie, which is cool, and Lord of the Rings, also amazing. I'm pretty sure he only died because he had to film for The Two Towers, which sucks. The whole story arc with the drug thing was good, and his relationship with Claire is great. The only bad thing is how when he and Claire are together, he's sometimes just kind of a jerk. Anyhow, great character in a great show.
Charlie, the show's embodiment of how much one experience can change a person. We could sympathize with him because there was always something else for him to learn, just as is the case with everyone else in real life. Above all, he was the bravest of the survivors, and the way he faced danger made him so memorable and admirable. He was a rock star and a hero in every sense.
Who doesn't love Hurley? Everyone loves him, and there's a reason why. That scene where he got the car to run was so amazing. Finally, he just got to be happy in that moment. He was always the saddest and most sympathetic when characters died. Since building that golf course in Season 1, he's always made things better with the little things, which significantly impacted the other characters.
He was the right choice to become the new Jacob at the end. He would do an awesome job. Like Jack said, he'd do what he's best at: looking out for people.
The only truly selfless character of the show. He had a tragic past and upbringing, a heroic disposition, but was also a complex and flawed enough character that we were always yearning for a resolution and happiness for him. He made mistakes but always made them for the right reasons (at least in the first few seasons) and wasn't afraid to stand up to characters like Sawyer and Locke, who many people seem to prefer. However, I find both more concerned with themselves than others (understandable considering what they went through, and I still love them as characters). This ultimately makes me prefer Jack.
What the writers did with his character, and particularly his relationship with Kate, was in my opinion the worst mistake of the series, as well as the greatest missed opportunity. They took away his skepticism, his compassion and care for others, and his love for Kate. The old Jack would never have left her or agreed to lying (for no reason) about the other survivors in the first place.
He is so calm and nice. He is basically a gentleman. However, he is also secretly evil. Because of this, I am glad they kept him alive throughout the series. I'm glad they made him an antihero in the end.
He's so calm and nice while being so evil. Makes me wonder if the others are the good guys.
Sharp mind, cunning, lots of depth to his character. I found him very fascinating.
I don't get why people don't like Kate. She was a strong, compelling female character, and she had an interesting backstory, as well as interesting relationships with Sawyer and Jack.
She really pushed the envelope of how such a good person can get into the worst situation and then come out even better. She had such a big heart. She and Hugo are my faves.
My favorite female character from any TV show.
The most badass character of all. He had a very deep past and personality. He's also the only one who ever stood up to the Smoke Monster and looked it right in the face.
Plenty of wonderful characters on the show, but Mr. Eko is hands down the best.
Juliet is my favorite character. She had a very tragic backstory. At first, she was controlled by her ex-husband. Then, she had to leave her pregnant sister in order to take a job opportunity. Unfortunately, the job turned out to be more of a prison, and she was forced to stay on the island for three years. Yet, Juliet remained defiant and true to herself.
When Jack arrived, she planned to kill Ben with him by deliberately botching a complicated surgery. She knew that if Ben were gone, it would save a lot of people. Of course, that didn't work out. However, when she went to meet the other crash survivors, she quickly managed to gain their trust (well, somewhat quickly). She helped Sun, saved Claire, and even dared to go against Ben.
I know she never got off the island (saddest death by far), but she did get to live a happy life with Sawyer for three years (best couple by far). She was always such a solid character with her quiet strength, intelligence, and dry humor. The best character, in my opinion.
Jin is awesome. He comes across as a bit of a dick at first in the first few episodes, but then we realize what he had to do and how he did the things he did for his wife.
I wanted to cap his knees when he was rude to Sun in the first season. Then I liked him after he owned up to his mistakes.
One of the best characters. Should be number one.
Sun is such a diverse person. Her character development is great, and her relationship with Jin is so meaningful. I love her. She's very likable. When there is a scene with Sun, she shines brightly.
Sun was one of the most developed characters in the show! She's very underrated and deserves to be higher.
He doesn't wear eyeliner like most people think. His lashes are just really long and dark.
He should be in the top ten because I know how hard it is to get eyeliner off your face. He deserves it.
I knew Boone would be my favorite character since that situation with the pen in the first episode. Without that, they would have never found the hatch. Too bad he died so early in the show.
Why did he die so early? He became one of my favorites immediately. I smiled so much watching him. I cried for a while the day I watched his death.
Funny and witty, well-developed character with a link to the island.
Claire is so underrated. She's amazing. I think that her big-sister-little-sister relationship with Kate was so cute, especially that moment when Kate grabbed her hand as they were leaving the island.
From the moment she asked Jack to hold a sort of funeral for the deceased members of Oceanic Flight 815 and read a bit about each of them, she displayed her kindness. Always sweet but with a snappy side as well. Her backstory was very sad, dealing with her mother's situation and being left to care for her baby on her own. And then she was also captured by the Others.
She was a great mother to Aaron. Evil Claire was interesting. She at least showed some sympathy. Her relationship with Charlie was also amazing. An overall awesome character.
How can anyone hate this character? She is so cool. I know she's a tough girl and many fans were turned off by her. She's still my favorite, killed Shannon and the best character on the show.
Best character ever! I loved her on the show. She has great scenes and she even killed my least favorite character, Shannon.
"The Others are coming. You have three choices: Run, hide or die." BEST CHARACTER! She provided the keys to the mysteries on the Island, and while she wasn't a reliable source, her perception that the Smoke Monster was a security system was spot on!
She could have kicked everyone's ass.
Once you go black, you never go back, baby.
Every time Vincent was there, the moment on the show was made 100 times better. Vincent forever.
How is he so bad in this list? He should be at least in the top 5. Darn it, he is a badass dog!
Vincent is smarter than everyone in Lost.
