Why is it comedy for a 17-18 year old girl to be relentlessly mocked and abused by her own family? There is nothing clever nor charming about a fictional character being tormented for no other reason than to serve the purpose as a punching bag gag. At least recent seasons have been improving on this.
Hey writers of Family Guy, I'm going to give you some advice. Just because Meg is at the butt of your jokes doesn't make them funny.
Meg started the trend of cartoon characters being tortured for no reason. Wow, the writers must be very professional! Not.

He can be a jerk sometimes but he still has a good heart, so he doesn't deserve the torture he gets from SpongeBob and Patrick.

I really hate how they've made Timmy a target for abuse in the newer seasons. It used to be just the bad characters that tortured him, but now it's gotten to the point where everybody hates him, even his own parents. I'm not even sure Cosmo and Wanda care about him anymore now that Poof and Chloe have come into the picture. And let's not forget "It's a Wishful Life!"

Sure, he can be all high and mighty and needs to be knocked down a peg once in a while, but most of the time he's a nice kid who doesn't deserve what he gets. After all, he's the only one of the Eds whom the kids treat with anything resembling respect.

Yes. Definitely. I am so sick of episodes where his family unknowingly abuses him and takes advantage of him. Episodes like "No Such Luck" and "Brawl in the Family" show me that the Loud family would be better off without Lincoln, and that just makes me sad.
He's kind of a jerk. That being said, a little less torture might change that.
He was even tortured in that awful "Save the Date" episode.

Yeah, he does some bad things sometimes, and he's a jerk sometimes, but he's still a good character.
He's more interesting than any of the Griffins (except Stewie and maybe Chris).
The fanbase hates him for stupid reasons. He's just misunderstood.
