Top Ten Futurama Characters
Futurama is an animated American sci-fi sitcom created by Matt Groening, and developed by Groening and David X. Cohen for the Fox network. The series follows the adventures of a former New York pizza delivery boy, Philip J. Fry, after he is cryogenically frozen seconds after the start of the year 2000, and thawed out on New Year's Eve 2999.Fry: "I hereby accuse Bender of polishing his ass with my toothbrush!"
Bender: "Lies! He's just jealous that my ass is shinier than his!"
Bender: "Woah, mama! Get a room, you two!"
People in room: "We're in a room!"
Bender: "Well, then lose some weight!"
Bender: "Bite my shiny metal ass!"
Fry: "It doesn't look so shiny to me."
Bender: "Shinier than yours, meatbag!"
Farnsworth: "I guess it's a problem that solves itself."
Bender: "That sounds like a job for me, Bender!"
Bender: *at nude beach* "You know, it's funny."
Fry: "What?"
Bender: "Your wiener!"
Leela: "Do you think you could be just a little less evil than that?"
Bender: "I don't know, do you think you could survive a 700 ft fall?"
Fry: "Who was that guy?"
Bender: "Your mama. Now drag me to work!"
Definitely my second favorite behind Bender. He's even the oldest remaining member of Planet Express other than Hubert. He's frickin' hilarious.
Really tough to choose my favorite Futurama character, but Zoidberg is the only one who has me laughing all the time.
I can do an amazing impression of Zoidberg. He's one of my favorite characters on the show. Too bad it was canceled.
Philip J. Fry has to be number one. He is amazingly funny and sweet, and there should be a person like him. I am like a girl version of him, but there has to be a guy like that somewhere! And I can't believe they stopped them. I cried so much.
Dear Zoidberg fans,
Dr. Zoidberg is a funny character, but Fry reminds everyone of themselves. Also, whenever Zoidberg is the star of his own episode, they run out of jokes and the episode is very, very boring.
From Fry fan
"No! They did it! They blew it up! And then the apes blew up their society, too! How could this happen? And then the birds took over and ruined their society! And then cows, and then... I don't know! Is that a slug, maybe? NOOO!"
Phillip J. Fry, S7E7
A caricature of the mad scientist, the Professor keeps the crew on their feet, employed, and generally able to afford sharing an apartment with a robot. His good news never fails to contradict the statement, and without him, the series could never have landed. Having a relative of Fry's in the show allows for a lot of jest about how polarized their mental states are. Good news, everyone!
Farnsworth is absolutely hilarious. Definitely deserves number one. Good news, everyone!
I really ought to vote for him... but I am already in my pajamas...
Leela feels like a real character in a sea of goons. She's often the "straight man" to the rest of the cast. Often, she is the moral high point, but not in an annoying way, and still provides a very funny role. She knows what she wants and works hard for it.
Smart, hot, and very determined. Must be number one!
Amy is so funny! They really should give her more lines and more screen time. I enjoy watching her on screen a lot more than Leela.
I love Amy! I wish she got more screen time like Leela. I personally like her better than Leela. She's so funny and cute!
She is the hot cool chick who deserves way more screen time!
"The alien mother ship is located here. If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate!"
It's funny. One day a man has everything, the next day he blows up a 500 billion dollar space station, and the next day he has nothing.
Zapp is like Bender and Fry. He's dumb and doesn't care about anybody else.
Kif is one of those aliens that would be a perfect boyfriend. He wouldn't be the type to judge you, but instead the kind to merely listen to your ideas and comment on them if you gave him the chance. He's innocent in many ways, which makes him different from many other males.
He's a talking three-eyed alien that has a cape and poops anti-matter. Enough said.
Scruffy is by far the most interesting and mysterious character. While we know he likes mustaches and porno mags, there is a lot about Scruffy that we don't know. So when he says something even mildly profound, you have to wonder: who is Scruffy?
"Scruffy gonna die the way he lived." Scruffy then turned the page of one of his favorite magazines before the boiler suddenly exploded.
"Aw marmalade!" Scruffy exclaimed before the scene transitioned and then neglected him for an episode or two to follow the crew's antics, as usual.
"What the- you're not made of Tuesday!" Roberto feels like how I am in my head all day, minus the stabbing. But, were I a robot, me too.
Just cause I've a hotel in my foot! Flying aubergines! You're not made of Tuesday! Such funny lines...
Roberto is awesome! "What the- you're not made of Tuesday!"
"You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!" He's not afraid to say how we're all feeling, like when Bender sacrificed his own son. Or when Calculon was boring him to Hell and back... to Robot Hell.
"You can't just renounce how your characters feel. That makes me feel angry!"
Ha.
He's just a badass. I have a tattoo of him just because I love him so much.
One of the best interpretations of the holiday spirit!
"That is not how windmills work! Good night!" He absolutely destroys with his quips and throbbing forehead veins. His newscasting is so iconic. Fry/Lars actually factually missed it while in the past.
BAM! Cooking, I love it. That's really about it. Also, his rival-hatred-ray with Bender. He'd knock him up a notch if it didn't sound so suggestively homoerotic. I don't believe he's into that kind of love. Or is he? Who knows?
A sensual blonde nurse who dislikes being stereotyped as a bimbo.
