Top 10 Most Annoying Things About Anime
I love anime, but there are things that just really annoy me, whether it's due to bad English dubs, unnecessary censorship, or other reasons. Some English dub anime is tolerable, but a lot of times, some English dubs are really awful. It's often better to switch to the Japanese audio with English subtitles.
I don't mind reading subtitles because I can read them fast enough to keep up with what's going on. A lot of English dubs, though, sound utterly ridiculous.
I'm not surprised anymore these days when they're bigger than the character's head. It would be so hard for her to find clothes that fit.
There was a scene in an anime that I forgot the name of where a woman's boobs dodged a speeding bullet. I don't mind large breasts on some characters, but there are limits to how much fan service is really necessary.
It's annoying, and personally, it makes me lose interest in an anime. I don't watch hentai or pervy anime, so I don't want to see exaggerated breasts everywhere. If they just had large boobs, it would be fine, but they always make sure to showcase them in the most cringy fanservice scenes ever.
The only anime that did this right was Sailor Moon. These episodes developed and fleshed out the characters, were funny, had cool moments, and were done in a way where the episodes didn't even feel like filler at all.
However, they didn't do it right all the time. One reason the fourth season, SuperS, is hated is that it had way too much filler.
Fillers can be annoying. Even though some of them can be enjoyable, I would prefer getting to the point instead of spending time on useless fillers.
They make the female characters pretty much just eye candy with no personality or hobbies, as their only interest is to please their perverted or indecisive love interest, who often ends up with all of them in the end. At least in reverse harems, the guys actually have personalities and interests, which makes them more human than some kind of broken record robot.
Please don't let characters be objectified like this. Real-life workers are not being implied here, but there are limits.
Now everyone thinks all anime is porn. Gee, thanks.
I love the fight scenes in anime, but some really drag on too long. Dragon Ball Z is the best example of this. One of those moments is when Goku fights Frieza, which takes up nearly an entire season. Most of the fight scenes consist of them battling, then stopping to talk, going back to fighting, then switching to scenes with other characters. Yu-Gi-Oh does this too, with some duels lasting up to three or even six episodes.
I get offended by stuff like this as a boy.
Oh, it's summer! Let's make those anime girls go to the beach so we can make them wear sexy bikinis and show off their boobs and asses! HELL NO!
I hope the Pokémon animators and writers learned their lesson after that ridiculous "Beauty and the Beach" episode and other episodes where they have one of the female Pokémon characters wearing a bikini. I hate these kinds of episodes - they're TEN years old, for God's sake!
A lot of anime always seems to include a beach episode, often for no reason.
Especially when they get the guy in the end. Basically, the message is, if a girl harasses and forces herself on a boy enough times, he will end up throwing everything away and giving her what she wants. What a twisted message, honestly.
I'm looking at you, Sakura from Naruto, and especially you, Serena from Pokémon XY.
Honestly, the villain could explain it in their head, or one of the protagonists knows it and explains it to their ally.
Whenever the bad guy explains their battle moves or plans, they always lose.
I binge-watch shows, and it's the most annoying thing. Sure, I'll watch it a couple of times or if they have a new one, but most streaming options don't have the "skip intro" feature like Netflix. Even then, you miss part of the story because they put the intro five minutes in.
This is so annoying and one of my biggest gripes with anime, honestly.
Also, the same words in the titles of several different fantasy isekai anime based on light novels make me confuse different series for each other, especially when the character designs aren't memorable and are plain.
This is the title of an actual anime that I watched:
Japanese: Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?
English: Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren't They?
The anime is decent, but that title is just unnecessarily long. They could've just named it Problem Children.
Yeah, everyone wants a pervert who either ends up liking them later or makes up with the protagonist somehow or something - give me some STORY.
Really good material doesn't have to be so cheap.
My friends literally talked about anime (along with K-POP) all the time and kept asking me to watch it. I had already watched two of them, Initial D and Wangan Midnight. The biggest thing I didn't like about anime in general is people acting out behavior similar to anime characters. I may find myself completely isolated and shoved away by them.
If a guy did it to a girl, he would be a woman beater. But it's okay for a girl to do it to a guy? Do I smell sexism?
Can't that guy smack that girl back for once? Tsunderes are like parents who abuse you because they love you. I'm not being sexist. I would love it if a girl did the same to an overly violent male tsundere, and I am a girl myself. But I have seen so many annoying tsunderes like this, and I want to see a guy do it to a girl.
Those are fake! They look like they got implants and plastic surgery on their outer skin!
OK, first of all, sick burn! LOL! Second, I can agree. Even though they made a masterpiece like Yu-Gi-Oh (it could still be better even though it's perfect), they changed stuff that made the series a little bit less enjoyable, such as Yugi telling Joey, "Joey, I love you..." when he was mind-controlled. And don't worry, that isn't really a spoiler.
