Top 10 Most Annoying Cartoon Characters of All Time

The Top Ten
Scrappy-Doo (Scooby-Doo) Scrappy Doo is the nephew of Scooby Doo. Unlike his uncle Scooby, Scrappy is brave enough to face the monsters.

The addition of Scrappy Doo to the Scooby Doo universe was actually a pivotal moment for the franchise. This is when the series, as a collective, had pretty much jumped the shark. Before Scrappy was introduced, the franchise had been running for roughly a decade.

Now, for a TV show, that's a pretty long time for a run. In other words, they should've just called it quits and hung up their hats for a few years. They had run out of ideas.

Scrappy-Doo was added to the cast to save the franchise's ratings, which at the time had begun to sink to the point of cancellation (which probably wasn't a bad idea to begin with). After Scrappy's introduction, Hanna-Barbera restructured the show around Scrappy, which was a big mistake. The original format of four teenagers and their dogs solving supernatural mysteries for half an hour was eschewed for simpler, more comedic adventures, which involved real supernatural villains.

Caillou (Caillou) Caillou, which means "pebble" or "stone" in French, is the self-proclaimed "Prince of Imagination." He is a four-year-old boy who serves as the titular main protagonist of the TV series and books of the same name... read more

This guy is very irritating. One, he's dumb. He throws tantrums, he whines about everything, and he's cruel to his sister. I'm not alone here in hating this brat.

He's the worst! Most irritating show ever. I've never had the urge to punch a child in the face as much as I'd like to punch Caillou in the forehead.

Between him and Dora, I have no idea who is the worst character. They are both so awful. And just why? What does he even teach you? At least Dora attempts to be educational. They are both sad jokes.

Dora (Dora the Explorer) Dora is the main protagonist in the show "Dora the Explorer". Her main occupation is exploring with her monkey friend, Boots.

Dora sets a bad example for kids watching the show. How did I reach this conclusion? My four-year-old sister ran away from home, and I found her almost a mile away. When I asked her why she'd run away, she said, "I was going on a Dora Explorer adventure!"

She is the most annoying character ever, and all of her characters stink and they are annoying. The award is nothing for you guys, zero!

Number 1! Please. She's so annoying! I liked her when I was young because I liked when she asks again and says you're right.

Please, please! Please! I'm not going to stop.

D - Dumb. Don't watch.
O - Obnoxious!
R - Rage! Makes me mad.
A - Annoying. Like obnoxious!

Decoded: Your Dora the obnoxious explorer who never actually explores. Bye!

D.W. Read (Arthur)

How she even exists is beyond me! I never knew she could be so annoying and ungrateful!

Apparently, when she received a Quackers the duck doll instead of that Talky Tina thingummy, she threw a temper tantrum, implying that she wanted that Talking Tina wotsit! Just goes to show how ungrateful she will ever be! Her brother had to endure and suffer her tantrum of terror!

Remember the time she threw a temper tantrum for many days just because she didn't get invited to a birthday party of someone she despised?

SpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBob SquarePants) SpongeBob SquarePants is a fictional character and the titular protagonist of the American animated television series of the same name. SpongeBob is known for his bright optimism and naive, childish tendencies. He often gets into trouble in Bikini Bottom... read more

As many have mentioned before (and as many will mention afterwards), SpongeBob didn't start off as nails-on-a-chalkboard annoying. If anyone is responsible for SpongeBob ending up the way he is now, blame no one else but the lousy execs at Nickelodeon. The show itself should've actually ended after the 2004 feature-length movie hit because that's when Stephen Hillenburg, the guy who created SpongeBob, wanted to end the series there and then. The reason for this decision by Hillenburg was because he didn't want the series to, as he quoted, "jump the shark."

But you gotta remember, folks, Nickelodeon is a TV network that started to decline in terms of quality when the new millennium came. The execs started caring more about quantity over quality, and thus the network itself suffered. Why do you think Nickelodeon milked Rugrats for all it was worth? Hillenburg had seen that his cartoon had run its course. It was time to put the tired dogs to bed, so to speak. Which should have happened 12 years ago, but let's face it, Nickelodeon would be a non-existent program if they had ended SpongeBob back in 2004.

Eugene H. Krabs (SpongeBob SquarePants) Eugene H. Krabs, or simply Mr. Krabs, is a fictional character in the American animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants.

Ugh. Mr. Krabs, my most hated character of all time. Why must you exist? You are nothing but an obsolete figure of greed. Do you recall that one fateful moment when you sold SpongeBob's soul for less than a dollar? Or when you turned a hole in your wall into a drive-through because you were unwilling to pay for repairs? What about that time you almost chopped off a person's hand for a penny? Hmm... these don't sound like very good deeds.

To be honest, I don't see how anyone could still argue that he has a hint of goodness in him. His only traits are greed and... wait - just greed! He makes Umbridge seem like nothing but a kitten, Bill Cipher a mere mortal. I would gladly exchange him for anyone else as a teacher or manager.

It is always a sad sight to see when you know that a very well-known and beloved character has the personality of a vampire cobra or the affection of a half-eaten scorpion. If I had to choose between spending Christmas with him or the Grinch, I'd gladly choose the Grinch. If I ever see Mr. Krabs, I'd call the insane asylum or the police before things get ugly.

Peter Griffin (Family Guy) Peter Griffin is the main protagonist and titular character of the American animated sitcom Family Guy. Peter is known for being foolish and doing random things for the sake of comedy. His wife, Lois Griffin, often nags him. It is implied that he didn't pass the third grade, and his father is an Irish... read more

Take away all the stuff that made Homer great and focus only on being a dumb moron, Peter Griffin is that. Homer was an idiot, but he had a heart. Peter is just dumb for the sake of it, plus he is very annoying, especially that dumb laughter.

I don't say I outright hate cartoon characters often because it seems rather silly, but I hate this character. I don't find him entertaining or in any way likable. He's just unpleasant.

He is the literal worst. Not only is his voice painfully annoying, but every single word that comes out of his mouth makes whoever is watching just change the channel to anything else.

Robin (Teen Titans Go!)

My hate for him knows no bounds. He thinks that everyone in the universe will do what he says, and when someone doesn't listen to him, he screams at the top of his lungs. He violently beats up Beast Boy for no reason. Remember his "prank" to him in the April Fools episode? He's more arrogant than Vegeta. He literally said once that if the Justice League were to recruit anyone, it would be him. He said that twice.

He's very manipulative. One time, he rigged a Teen Titans award show to trick the others into doing their chores. Lastly, he obsesses over Starfire, always trying to trick her into kissing him. He dressed up as a cat, knowing Starfire is obsessive about cats, so she would love him, again being manipulative.

To the real Robin, I'm very sorry for what Cartoon Network did to you. But the fake Robin has to go.

Snarf (ThunderCats)

Snarf is annoying, really annoying. In fact, the creator of ThunderCats thought he was so annoying that he decided to completely change Snarf's personality in the remake of ThunderCats.

The second I heard his voice, I wanted to rip my eardrums out.

Vicky (The Fairly OddParents)

Well, I am going to have to agree because I hate Vicky's personality. Timmy's parents are such idiots when it comes to her babysitting him. Why not let someone else babysit him?

Vicky is supposed to be irritating. It means that the audience gets more pleasure from her downfall in various episodes.

She's so crazy. Sometimes I think she wants to murder Timmy.

The Newcomers

? Thomas (Thomas's Daily Life, REDMON)

He's very annoying and bratty. He spat on his baby sister and kicked her. He got angry when his female friend sneezed on him by accident. This guy is worse than Caillou.

Also, he snatched his toy from his baby sister, and when his mom told him he gave his toys to her, he acted innocent and relieved. At least he apologized in the end.

I thought he was Japanese and from a Japanese show, kind of like Shin-Chan, because the animation gives off Shin-Chan vibes. But it's actually a South Korean cartoon. They even have an English dub of it.

This show shouldn't teach kids that spitting is okay or encourage them to copy inappropriate behavior they see on TV.

? Jenny Wakeman (My Life as a Teenage Robot) Jennifer "Jenny" Wakeman (designated robot name: Global Robotic Response Unit XJ-9) is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the American animated series My Life as a Teenage Robot created by Rob Renzetti for Nickelodeon.

I honestly don't like Jenny Wakeman. I know a lot of people like her and say that she's cute and relatable, but I honestly don't see her that way.

Much like BMO from Adventure Time, Jenny does have a good character design and a cool voice, but her personality has a very notable mean streak. Jenny tries to fit in, but her ways of doing it come off as very unsympathetic, as she often does not acknowledge her bad actions beforehand. Her "redemptions" are mostly half-baked. She has so many glaring flaws that make her come off as unlikable and unbalanced most of the time.

On top of that, Jenny seems to care more about being famous rather than actually doing the right thing, so she's not really a good role model. Besides being incredibly vain, Jenny is irritable, blind, idiotic, somewhat misunderstanding, insensitive, and short-tempered. She has the tendency to blame other people in certain situations, even when she's the only one doing something wrong, and she almost never admits she's wrong.

Because of the reasons above, I don't like this character at all. Janice Kawaye's a good voice actress, but I'm not a fan of Jenny Wakeman.

The Contenders
Sanjay (Sanjay and Craig) Sanjay is one of the 2 main characters starring in the Nickelodoen show "Sanjay & Craig". Sanjay is an Indian boy who is usually around with Craig, a talking snake who is acquainted with Sanjay.

How is this below Tucker Foley of all things? Sanjay is one of the most disgusting characters in existence! He should be much higher on the list!

Way more annoying than Bloom from Winx Club. At least Bloom has the luxury of being a hot redhead with the voice of Molly Quinn, no less.

Anyone in that show is annoying.

Johnny Test (Johnny Test)

Johnny Test is a total jerk. Johnny Test is not likable at all, and so are all the other characters on Johnny Test. The only good, likable character on the show is Dukey. Why? Because he's actually sometimes the voice of reason and he tries to stay out of Johnny's plans.

Johnny Test is also really annoying and mean because his personality is disrespectful, selfish, and manipulative. I can see why he's on the list.

Johnny Test number 8! This character should be number 1 for the worst, the most unoriginal character that ever was created. Johnny Test, this brat, should be number 1 permanently.

Cheese (Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends)

Annoying, but there are so many others who deserve to be ranked higher.

Hilarious, but can be annoying.

Candace Flynn (Phineas and Ferb) Candace Gertrude Flynn is a main character of the Disney Channel animated television series Phineas and Ferb, voiced by Ashley Tisdale and created and designed by Dan Povenmire.

She's so irritating. She's always trying to bust Phineas and Ferb. They're just trying to have fun. What did they ever do to you? And girls are not like Candace because in Candace's life everything is about cell phones. One of the worst cartoon characters in history, right next to Finn and Jake from Adventure Time.

She always thinks she knows everything, she's always so bossy, and worst of all: she doesn't care about anything but getting her brothers in trouble. She was even willing to frame them for building something.

Alfe (The Problem Solverz)

He's the worst character of the show. All the characters of The Problem Solverz are idiots! Especially Alfe! Plus, the show sucks too! It's the worst show of all time! There's nothing good about it! Not even one single thing!

God! Alfe is like the most annoying character ever! He is so annoying and so obnoxious!

He sounds like a mixture of Oscar and the elephant from Sesame Street.

Dee Dee (Dexter's Laboratory) Dee Dee is a fictional character and the sister of Dexter from the Cartoon Network animated series, Dexter's Laboratory.

Every character in this show is appalling. I hate everyone in this show, and I just despise this abomination of mankind. I'd personally watch something like Clarence or Uncle Grandpa any day over this monstrosity of a show.

But here's the thing, Dee Dee was made with the intention of being annoying. And just because of that, I find her a whole lot less annoying than I should.

Dee Dee has no redeeming qualities outside of invading her brother's privacy and acting innocent while destroying his belongings.

Angelica Pickles (Rugrats) Angelica Pickles is a cartoon character who appears in the Nickelodeon shows Rugrats, All Grown Up!, and Rugrats Pre-School Daze, and is among one of the series' original characters.

There was an episode of Rugrats where Angelica was going to move somewhere distant. The babies were happy at first, but Tommy realized that Angelica brought the babies together as friends. Then, Angelica and the babies were all devastated that Angelica was moving. What the hell.

If I had a cousin who was very cruel to me, always broke my toys, and made me be his slave, I would wish he moved away. And if he did, I would be happy because I wouldn't see his sorry self until Christmas. (Christmas is what I probably would be afraid of.)

And the worst part about the episode was when she didn't move.

Finn the Human (Adventure Time) Finn "the Human Mertens" is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the American animated television series Adventure Time, created by Pendleton Ward. Finn starts as a childish and naive character but eventually grows into a mature and laid-back character in the show's later seasons... read more

Especially in the earlier seasons. He acts like a slightly older version of Flapjack. Finn: What time is it? Me: WHO CARES?!

This kid does nothing but promote violence to kids. Bad role model.

Finn should meet the Hulk so that he can pummel him to oblivion.

Rainbow Dash (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) Rainbow Dash is a female Pegasus pony from the 2010 kids' show, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. She represents the element of loyalty and is one of the six main characters on the show... read more

Yes, sometimes Rainbow Dash can be kind of a jerk. I personally dislike a lot of traits related to pride in general. Though it depends on how they are portrayed, and this is one of the few cases where I'm fine with it.

Sure, she's cocky. Though in general, she does not claim to be good at something she's not. Time and time again, we've seen her admit to being wrong. Plus, she still cares a lot about her friends, including Fluttershy.

The only episode where she was rude to her was the first time they were together in an episode, and that was in Dragonshy. Guys, you really can't mock someone for character flaws when other characters have them portrayed much worse. There's even worse in the same exact show by the means of Trixie, who doesn't forgive her mistakes when she's wrong.

George (Peppa Pig) George Pig is a character in Peppa Pig. George is a small, one to three year old pig and the little brother of Peppa.

Thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand him. So stupid, "dinosaur roar". And all the crying. Shut up already. Why is he even on this show? They should drop an anvil on him.

He whines and cries about every little thing. And all he can ever say is "dinosaur."

Totally! He cries about everything and all he can say is dinosaur.

Pearl Krabs (SpongeBob SquarePants)

Do you know what really would be totally "coral"? If this whale would be beached and done with already. She is very grating and dull.

She is so annoying and very selfish. I may hate Mr. Krabs, but she still has no respect for her father. Her voice is annoying as well.

She used to be your typical teenage girl who loved her dad no matter what, but they decided to make her a spoiled brat instead.

Marge Simpson (The Simpsons) Marjorie Jacqueline "Marge" Simpson is a fictional character in the American animated sitcom The Simpsons and part of the eponymous family. She is the wife of Homer and the mother of three children in the family.

Why is she only #46? She should be way higher up, somewhere where Lois is. Only she is worse than Lois, so much worse. Don't believe me? Just watch any episode that's all about her. She is actually even worse than Lisa.

She's good-looking, but she's a bad role model for parents. Teaches adults to be overprotective.

She is the worst wife in the world. She is so frigging annoying I can't stand her stupid voice. And she is like, Homer, get out of my house. I can't believe you danced next to another woman.

Even Moe is way too good for her. And if she made that stupid noise at me, I would bust her face.

Squidward Tentacles (SpongeBob SquarePants) Squidward Tentacles is a fictional character voiced by actor Rodger Bumpass in the American animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants.

Squidward has a very abrasive attitude, often wanting to be left alone, and he displays a misanthropic nature. He prefers solitude and enjoys playing the... read more

I like Squidward a lot. He's the best character throughout the show, but gosh, SpongeBob has become such a boring show now. Squidward was great in the first three seasons, but in the new episodes, he just acts like a complete idiot. In these episodes, he acts more self-centered, ignorant, and he has this terrible attitude. Like, dude, we get it already. You're the most miserable person in Bikini Bottom, but what's with the resentment? Especially towards people who aren't trying to make your life hell. They're just trying to show a little respect to you, but you show zero respect to them.

Secondly, he's so smug, snarky, and sarcastic. In the old episodes, it was actually funny, but then in the new ones, he keeps acting like that to the point where I just give up and stop watching whatever episode I'm on. The one episode where he just pissed me off was Sponge-Cano. Okay, like we know that SpongeBob was the one who started it all, but stop taking it out on random people, for God's sake! They're just living their lives, like, shut up! At least in Seasons 12-13, he started to look up again.

SwaySway (Breadwinners)

Breadwinners itself was annoying. I'm surprised this is the only Breadwinners character I found.

Craig (Sanjay and Craig)

He's extremely annoying, but he doesn't deserve to be ranked above his god-awful friend Sanjay.

Anyone from this show is horrible. Enough said.
