Top 10 Best Adult Cartoons

The Top Ten
1 South Park South Park is an American adult animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Comedy Central television network. The show is about four boys, who are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick, and their adventures in South Park, Colorado.

I'm glad that this show is number #1. It makes me laugh all of the time and unlike the Simpsons or Family Guy it has been consistently funny over the past 20 years. Everyone knows that those two shows have pretty much lost their spark, but meanwhile South Park is still fantastic and creative, I mean heck, it only takes the creators 6 days to make an entire episode that manages to be hilarious and clever, and yet it takes other show creators a year to make an episode that usually doesn't match up with South Park's quality and humor.

I like the first top 3, but I have to say the most hilarious of them 3 is South Park. Of course The Simpsons and Family Guy have limitations because they go on national broadcast and South Park has almost no limits... but to me head to head comparing all characters and the issues touched, South Park wins by far.

South Park has a wider list of funny characters than the Simpsons and Family Guy.

Love Rick and Morty AND The Simpsons (although it kind of sucks now) but none of those can compare to South Park. This is easily the most iconic adult cartoon of all time, and it's quality hasn't decreased much over 22 YEARS of being on the air and releasing new episodes every year since 1997! This show will hold a permanent place in my sense of humor, my childhood, and my heart.

Unlike Simpsons and Family Guy, South Park has always been great and never lost its charm. It continues to remain one of the best cartoons of all time. I adore the show's animation, humor, character development, storylines (minus the political episodes), and morals.

2 The Simpsons The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening that originally started on April 19, 1987 as shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show. It got its own series on December 17, 1989 and is still running as of 2023, making it the longest running animated sitcom. It is about a man named Homer Simpson and his family (wife Marge and children Bart, Lisa and Maggie and pets, Snowball II and Santa's Little Helper) going through a long series of misadventures.

The simpsons is one of the written shows of all time. It has a memorable cast even though it has about ten times more characters than most other sitcoms; it can do a show about a topic in society without it being it preachy. In its prime, the show was the funniest or one of the funniest shows in history. They the simpsons is not as funny as it use to be, but there are much less funny and unimaginative shows on T.V.. It can still have a good joke a few times in an episode. It doesn't need to resort to a cut away gag and other jokes that have no relevance to the plot or anything going on. A show that does this all the time is family guy. Even now, it still has better writing than family guy because family guy has always has had very undeveloped characters and horrible writing. I will admit that family guy is funny, it is not a clever kind of funny. The simpsons is one of the best sitcoms and T.V. shows of all time.

Number 1 not South Park.
We don't need immature fanboys saying how "intelligent South Park is" Oh like the kids version was intelligent "The Three Friends and Jerry." Might as well reboot that cartoon having the same intelligence. It was banned for being inappropriate then what about Cow and Chicken? Animaniacs? Tiny Toon Adventures? Johnny Bravo? Even Rugrats.

Even if you can't stand The Simpsons, one thing you can't deny is that even in it's 29th season, it's a masterpiece. So far in 2018, this is the most watched adult cartoon. South Park is slowly dying, like Family Guy. But The Simpsons and American Dad are shows which have recently started to gain really high standards again.

I used to be obsessed with this show. Even though it's not as funny as it used to be, I still love The Simpsons with all my heart's content.

3 Family Guy Family Guy is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of parents Peter (Fat, Idiotic Dad) and Lois (Nagging Bitchy Wife), their children Meg (Socially Awkward Daughter) Chris (Fat, Idiotic Son), and Stewie (Sociopathic and Genuine Infant); and lastly Brian (Anthromorphic Pet Dog). The show is set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, and exhibits much of its humor in the form of cutaway gags that often American culture. ...read more.

I have a lot of respect for this show. Early seasons were its finest. The early seasons redefined adult cartoons. But sadly, now it is a spite filled hateful shell of its amazing old self. Some late season episodes are good, but the new ones are offensive and mean spirited. I recommend early seasons, as the early seasons of family guy deserve to be on this list.

I can understand the top 2, but why is Rick and Morty above this. Family Guy is a pop culture phenomenon, and it is way better than Rick and Morty. It is hilarious and has tons of great jokes. It and South Park are the best adult cartoons.

A lot of the humour is based on making fun of others with certain issues or killing living things, if you find those sorts of things remotely funny you need to get your head examined.

To me I think family guy and futurama are kinda close but in my opinion I would put futurama above it, but there both great shows.

4 Futurama Futurama is an American animated science fiction sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company.

Do you that feeling where you feel like you've found something that gives you all the joy you've ever wanted? Well then welcome to Futurama. This show had everything that a good show needed, from legendary characters to creative plots. Not only that, but it provided the audience practically everything it wanted, from a ship that became canon (Fry X Leela for the two who don't know) to the possibility of it coming back. While a few people here and there think it started going downhill as time went on, I think all ten seasons were equally phenomenal. Unfortunately, Netflix recently got rid of the first 6 seasons. But going back to what I said before, all ten were amazing. So please, just please please PLEASE check out Futurama. You will LOVE IT. And if you don't, then you probably don't have a soul

I love pretty much anything sci-fi, but even without that element, Futurama is still my 2nd favorite cartoon ever (behind Gravity Falls) because it's just so damn well-done as a T.V. show overall. It has all the things that a quality series needs: great characters, immersive plot, unique elements, & top-notch writing/creativity. Unlike Matt Groening's older, more-famous "Simpsons", it actually knew not to overstay its welcome, which is why I actually don't mind how it ended already, leaving the fans satisfied without getting stale & overdone. Not to mention how memorable even the episodes & moments were. If you give me almost any quote from this series I would instantly recognize it. While Community got their "six seasons & a movie", Futurama made nine seasons & FOUR movies (I could do without the 2nd of those 4, but it's still a good overall count). The show even survived cancellation when Comedy Central picked it up from retirement, giving us episodes with just as good quality. It ...more

Very Enjoy at this Cartoon! Too many Episodes are so Funny! This Show is Good for Teen in my Opinion. I think this is most Creative!

I Really want this show to be back up. I am sure many people would be happy to see Season 8 of Futurama than Season 29 of The Simpsons

5 Rick & Morty Rick and Morty is an American adult animated science fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult Swim.

If I made a top 10 list of the favourite shows I'd seen in my life this would be under 5! this is my absolute favourite cartoon and 1 of my favourite shows! its hilarious, the animation is awesome, the voices are good and their isn't a single episode I hate. The only problems I have is there isn't enough Rick and Morty! and the ending for the last episode of season 3,had me angry yet really upset. Overall though it is a must-see! Wobba Lubba Dub Dub!

This show is ridiculously funny! It is the best adult cartoon I have seen so far and it even managed to make its way to my top 3 favourite cartoons.

I love this show! I love the animation the characters have a meaning and are funny! I love the wacky creatures they find. This adult cartoon can really show what it has

I get that this show is new and not a lot of people know about it but this show is absolutely amazing! Should be much higher up on the list.

6 American Dad! American Dad! is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman for the Fox Broadcasting Company and currently on TBS. American Dad! is the first television series made to premiere on the network's Animation Domination block. The series premiered on February 6, 2005, following Super Bowl XXXIX, with the rest of the first season airing three months later beginning May 1, 2005. American Dad! is a joint production between Underdog Productions, Fuzzy Door Productions and 20th Television Animation and syndicated by 20th Television.

A lot better and more tolerable than Family Guy. There's no annoying cutaway gag jokes, and the jokes are actually funny despite the political overtones some episodes have.

It is fun, fun, fun. And not in a Rebecca Black sense. Really, a great T. V. Show. It is made by the creators of Family Guy and The Cleveland Show, but the humor and plot are way better done than them.

What I like about this show is that it's not all about the humor like family guy.

This show rocks. A mixture of family guy and the simpsons.

7 Beavis and Butt-head Beavis and Butt-Head is an American animated sitcom created and designed by Mike Judge. The series originated from Frog Baseball, a 1992 short film by Judge originally aired on Liquid Television.

I would not expect for a show about two underachieving high school students doing stupid things to work so well. But it does. Mike Judge is a genius and Beavis and Butthead is, in my opinion, the first show since Tom & Jerry to execute a simple plot so well. Many times, their mischievous acts cause a complex series of events that they don't even notice taking place. Best of all, what could be better than hearing their commentary about all of those music videos?

The show makes me sleepy just because they are just reacting on music videos but the plot made me laugh...

Score score score chicks!

8 King of the Hill King of the Hill is an American animated sitcom created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels that ran from January 12, 1997 to May 6, 2010 on Fox.

Great show because it's different than other adult cartoons. It focuses more on drama rather than just comedy.

The best, so many great episodes. Never gets old.

KOTH and Beavis and Butthead are two of my favorite shows ever!

Mike Judge as two great shows on this list. Both I would watch anytime of anyday

9 BoJack Horseman BoJack Horseman is an American adult animated sitcom created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg. The series stars Will Arnett as the title character, BoJack Horseman.

There is no other show like it. Should be number 4 because it's a million times better than Family Guy could ever dream of being

One of the best shows in existence! It manages to combine surreal, sardonic, and satirical humor bursting at the seams with pop-culture references, while also maintaining this deep, dark, and realistic feel. Many people on here are saying that it isn't as funny. The humor is different and more refined. You'll know what I mean if you've seen the show. No gross out humor, no toilet gags, real Comedy.

This show is really underrated. Though it might not be the funniest one, it's still the most relatable one. The first season wasn't really good but it got better and better and season 4 was so incredibly deep, emotional and dark. The characters are incredibly complex and realistic and it's a shame that it's so low on this list

Maybe not the funniest of them, but I respect it the most, because of the one-season-storyline (which works! ) and Bojack being probably the most relatable cartoon character I've ever seen.

10 Bob's Burgers Bob's Burgers is an American animated sitcom created by Loren Bouchard for The Fox Broadcasting Company. It premiered on January 9, 2011 and is still running as of 2022.

Come on king of the hill above this? Once I watched this show and laughed so hard my mom asked if I needed to go to the doctor

This show is HILARIOUS! The best parts of it are it's amazing characters, and it's phenomenal jokes.

Bob's burgers is a hell of a lot better T.V. show than anything Seth MacFarlane has or will ever make. It's just common sense.

Love this show all the characters fit in so well. it's funny. its more realistic then most cartoons. Two words WATCH IT!

The Newcomers

? My Adventures with Superman
The Contenders
11 Aqua Teen Hunger Force Aqua Teen Hunger Force is an American animated sitcom created by Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro for Cartoon Network's late night programming block, Adult Swim.

Should be at least number 3 behind South Park and Simpsons, no offense but I hate family guy and American dad. I am so sad this is the last season :(

Do you remember Wiggle Jiggle?

Carl: What happened to my ' car?

This is very underrated with all the meatballs and the sodas walking down the street like gangstas

12 The Ren & Stimpy Show The Ren & Stimpy Show, often simply referred to as Ren & Stimpy, is an American animated television series created by John Kricfalusi for Nickelodeon.

Even though it aired on Nickelodeon, I sometimes find it hard to believe that this show was meant for kids. Despite that, however, I enjoy Ren and Stimpy for all of the hilarious lines, insane animation, and clever writing. In closing, if you didn't like this show...than you're an EEDIOT! (No offense to the people who take it seriously. I was just trying to quote Ren's catchphrase.

Yes, kids, this is an adult cartoon, there's a reason it aired on SNICK more often than regular nick and often aired on Nick back in the day during school and church hours. Quite gross on lookback.

If we're talking about the original, then yes. However, if we're referring to the Adult Party Cartoon revival... NO!

13 The Cleveland Show The Cleveland Show is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Richard Appel, and Mike Henry for the Fox Broadcasting Company as a spin-off of Family Guy.

Come on, Tenth?
This is much better than King of the Hill or Beavis and Butthead.

This show is so overlooked, I don't get why people hate it so mush.

This show made family guy a good show.

I really like this show I got into it from adult swim airings And now I really like it

14 Archer

How could Sterling Mallory Archer be overlooked? Racism, gay, alcoholism, sexist, sexual, drugs, and sodomy jokes galore. Great voice acting and characters. Archer should be top ten.

Finally, a list that Archer's on. This is hilarious, how the hell is Robot Chicken higher than this. RC is TERRIBLE.

This show is perfect and should at least be in the top 5! Sooo funny and awesome characters!

Should be top three. Danger zone. No more.

15 Regular Show Regular Show is an American animated television series created by J. G. Quintel for Cartoon Network that premiered on September 6, 2010. The series revolves around the lives of two friends, a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby—both employed as groundskeepers at a local park.

Okay, how do I explain this:

Regular Show is the best cartoon I have ever watched in the history of cartoons (right next to Rick and Morty). It's all about two guys, a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby, who work at the park and cause bad things to happen. For example, there's an episode where a warlock has a fanny pack and tries to suck the whole park in (Season 3, Episode 13: Fortune Cookie). Another episode revolves around Mordecai being unable to delete his profile on a dating website called Couple Corral, and a guy wanting to kill his girlfriend CJ so he can be single and receive more hits (Season 5, Episode 40: Real Date). I find it more suitable for teens than kids because some episodes may not make sense to younger audiences, like Crusin or Caffeinated Concert Tickets or others. So, Regular Show is currently my favorite show. It's way better than that dumb Adventure Time show.

It's not for adults. I Watch it all the time. It's more of a teen show like South Park, Family Guy and Adventure Time..

This Show is for Teen. This Show has too many Funny Episodes! This made me Laugh! I think this is most Creative!

I do get that people like this show, but it's overrated. Regular Show is for kids not adults

16 The Boondocks The Boondocks is an American animated sitcom created by Aaron McGruder for Cartoon Network's late-night programming block, Adult Swim. It is based upon his comic strip of the same name. The series premiered on November 6, 2005.

I just watched this, the first episode, and I loved it. Don't know if I will continue the series like I did with PPG and Death Note, but it's a good show. It has a good blend of comedy, and speaks up about real issues, like racism and government corruption. The art is nice too. The characters are interesting. It's way better than Family Guy (saw an episode of that and it's not that funny, just stupid). I have a friend who loves this show and introduced me to it.

The Boondocks was a great show. I loved how they mocked racial stereotyping.

This is my 2nd favorite show it's hilarious unlike retarded seth macfarlane garbage like family guy

Best black cartoon ever

17 Rocko's Modern Life Rocko's Modern Life is an American animated television series created by Joe Murray for Nickelodeon. The series centers on the surreal life of an anthropomorphic Australian-immigrant wallaby named Rocko as well as his friends: the gluttonous steer Heffer, the neurotic turtle Filburt, and Rocko's faithful dog Spunky.

It may be for kids, but as an adult, I don't see why we can't enjoy it as well. It's got good jokes, great writing, clever setups, likable (and hilarious) characters, spot-on voice acting, creative designs, and an amazing amount of innuendoes. In other words, this show is awesome!

This show is awesome! But I don't like sleeping in front of the T.V. when it comes on late @ night.

Fun Fact: The Chokey chicken was changed to the chewy chicken because the name was very inapprioate

18 Big Mouth Big Mouth is an American adult animated sitcom created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett featuring teens based on Kroll and Goldberg's upbringing in Westchester County, New York, with Kroll voicing his fictional self.

This show is all about puberty and sex, nothing good to see here.

19 Happy Tree Friends Happy Tree Friends is an adult animated flash series created and developed by Aubrey Ankrum, Rhode Montijo, Kenn Navarro and Warren Graff for Mondo Media.

I probably shouldn't have started watching this when I was 11 years old... but hey. At least I can recall everyone who died and how they died in every single episode if someone names one.

Happy tree friends is the best damn thing your eyes will ever see

20 Home Movies Home Movies is an American animated sitcom created by Loren Bouchard and Brendon Small. The show centers eight-year-old Brendon, who makes videos with his friends Melissa Robbins and Jason Penopolis in his spare time.
21 Total Drama Island Total Drama Island is a Canadian animated television series which premiered in Canada on Teletoon on July 8, 2007 and on June 5, 2008 in the U.S.

This is one of the best cartoons I have seen. I seriously wonder why it is rated #37. The characters are really great and the storyline can be very emotional. Season 6 may have many filler episodes but season 7 makes up for it. A great show with great characters.

Adventure time is the best! Thank you pendelton ward for creating this marvelous show, especially for creating a character like marceline because I'm in love with her.

I wonder why this cartoon is only at #37:a lot of people including me love it with passion! It's a great mix of humour, suspense and tears.I love marceline more than ever.

Adventure time's pilot is played in CBS reality, and moved to cartoon network. cartoon network is have many adult shows like ed edd n eddy or the amazing world of gumball, but that adult cartoon was adventure.
