Top 10 Best Regular Show Characters

The Top Ten
1 Mordecai Mordecai is one of the two main protagonists of Regular Show, along with his best friend Rigby. He made his debut in the non-canon short "2 in the AM PM" as a human cashier, who then morphs into a prototype Mordecai-like character with a fanny pack. He later makes his first official appearance in the Pilot episode. Mordecai is voiced by the show's creator, J.G. Quintel.

The only occasions where Mordecai's ACTUALLY been a great friend to Rigby is when his best friend's life is in danger (Eggcellent, Trash Boat, and even It's Time are good examples). Other than that, he would either leave Rigby alone to fix his own problems, or belittle him for his "lack of intellect". While Rigby cares for Mordo's life AND gets himself involved in his friend's problems. Not only Rigby cares for his best friend's well being, but he wants Mordecai to live successfully and thinks he deserves to live a happy life. That's what being a best friend is all about, no matter the circumstances.

All in all, I personally think Rigby is a much better friend than Mordecai has been to him. Just putting it out there...

I love Mordecai. In a way, he reminds me of myself.

And I feel that Mordecai had to deal with too much of Rigby's shenanigans the first 3 seasons. I honestly felt bad when he was constantly getting roped and pressured to do unorthodox things just for their friendship.

As the later seasons rolled on, Rigby became arguably the best character in the series and everyone forgot about Mordecai. After dealing with all he had to in the beginning I believe that good ol' Mordecaia, the dude that will always be there when Rigby needs him most is the best character in the series (except for Benson, I like him somehow even more).

I do like Pops and Rigby too but do you know why I've chosen Mordecai? I like him because he seems a bit confident to Rigby and he also follows the orders especially by getting a new sandwich. Mordecai is always smart and helpful for Benson when he cleans the extraordinary piles of leaves. He really is although brave and tougher than Rigby because Rigby gets scared a lot when he had a terrible dream.

Mordecai does not suck. You only hate him because he keeps on punching Rigby. He is awesome. So yeah, why does everybody follow the same formula every comment! I agree with VasheTheStampede. He is a good friend, just why does he get hate. Everybody likes him, so you are starting up a campaign just so you can get Rigby the annoying offensive jokey guy on it. Selfishness doesn't get your own way.

2 Rigby Rigby is a character from the cartoon Regular Show created by JG Quintel. He's best friends with Mordecai (A talking Blue Jay). Together they slack around and have fun in the park. A place where they work and have the risk of being fired from.

I like Rigby because out of everyone he has seemed to progress the most on the show. Even though Mordecai is the more level headed of the two Rigby is quickly catching up. At the beginning of the show Rigby was a lazy, whiny slacker but over the years he has matured and progressed. He'll do anything he has to for Eileen, he got a job just to prove how responsible he was to Mordecai and Benson, went back to high school, and whenever Mordecai is sulking from getting dumped, it's Rigby who pulls him out of the mud. Not to mention he's physically stronger now because his punches can hurt Mordecai now. He has become a responsible and hard working character who is still funny and awesome (And can be immature at times). Sometimes it even seems like he has his life more in order than Mordecai.

I like Mordecai too but the reason I voted for Rigby was because of everything that happens to him in the show. He gets pushed around and hit a lot, and sometimes made fun of. He is sensitive and gets scared of things he shouldn't be scared of, I know, but that's why I kind of feel bad for him. In the episode Don he almost breaks down in tears because everyone wants him to be nice to his brother without hearing his side of the story. It turns out he's just jealous of his younger brother, and that's one of the reasons. Rigby thinks everyone prefers Don over him.
Rigby's a funny character and he seems nice enough to everyone usually that's why I voted for him!
I could say a lot about Mordecai too but I felt that was important.

Rigby should be number 1, I like Mordecai but rigby is the best in my opinion. He is the funniest character in the show absolutely hilarious in every episode throughout the show. He has increased in maturity as the show goes on unlike Mordecai that seems to be doing the opposite with him stuck in a stupid love triangle with CJ and Margaret. They sometimes even take Rigby's place as on of the main characters that disgusts me. People want to watch adventures with Rigby and Mordecai not awkward dates with CJ or Margaret that always end up going wrong.

Rigby used to be annoying and an aggravating character to watch. But then, when he started dating Eileen, he became much more mature and even gave Mordecai advice. Not to mention his amazing speech at his graduation. Rigby used to be my least favorite character, now he's my favorite. I like Mordecai less now that I've seen how jealous he was when Rigby graduated, and how much he needed to retain a sense of superiority over Rigby.

3 Pops Maellard

Good old Pops I remember when I watched Regular Show with my good old friends earlier in the Regular Cycle back when every episode that came out was extremely funny and good and we Loved Pops. Every time time he was on the screen we got all happy. The episode when Pops is a wrestler is just Pops comedy GOLD. He's a cartoon show LEGEND and whenever I see Pops in the episodes today I remember the gold old days befor my friends moved who I was talking about earlier and I just get a small tear inside.

Pops should be at number one. Each time he comes on screen, talking in his wobbly English accent, I laugh. He is actually a good friend to everyone at the park, and I think we all feel bad when he cries. Pops is something that cannot be explained. He is and forever will be... A CARTOON LEGEND.

Pops is absolutely adorable! His fun English accent and cute laugh, and he really just wants to be one of the guys. My next two favorites are mordecai and benson.

I really liked Pops. He was one of my best favorite characters in the show. I felt really bad in the series finale when Pops died and he had his statue in honor of him. trust me, I felt really bad. more than ever.

4 Skips

He is the glue that holds everyone together. If it weren't for skips there would be no show yet the show is centred around Mordecai and Rigby. From a writers standpoint this makes for a creative and somewhat original storyline that can be easily built upon by developing the character of skips. This was done quite brilliantly and subtle to the teet. Over 5 seasons the background story is slowly progressed whenever skips reveals information about the past. This isn't just a background to the characters in the show but to the world that those characters live within. Skips is literally the writer embodied within the writing. He is immortal but not "that kind of immortal". Skips is the unspoken narrator of the story. His past is painful yet he holds onto it with his heart forever protecting those within. He is shown as the only "real" character in the show by being the only one that can adapt to different situations. This show is literally the artist saving his art.

Skips is the wisest and strongest character on the show. Without him the park would have been destroyed centuries ago. Nothing fazes him and he always has a solution to all of the character's problems (except the sugar rush). Mordecai and Rigby always look up to him for guidance. He has a strong backstory and reason to why he always skips. He defies death every day he lives because he is immortal. Not to mention he's voiced by the legendary Mark Hamill. Rock on Skips!

Skips is just a flat out good person. There's no other way to say it, other than he is a good person. He puts his friends over himself, even when it is detrimental to himself as shown in Skips Stress (my favorite episode), and he is willing to hold on to his sad past. There's never a moment where skips is the bad guy, unlike for every other main character, which goes to show how true of a good person he is.

If not for him, Mordecai and Rigby wouldn't even have their job anymore. I mean, I like Mordecai and Rigby, but if this show didn't have Skips, it would've only lasted maybe an episode or two.

5 Benson Dunwoody Benson Dunwoody is a main character on Cartoon Network's Regular Show. He is a gumball machine, also known as The Park's manager. As the manager, he is the boss of every park worker (with the possible exception of Pops). He has a short temper and has a tendency of yelling at Mordecai and Rigby every time they slack off. Benson made his debut in J.G. Quintel's animated short "2 in the AM PM", where one of the cashiers (voiced by Sam Marin) transformed into a prototype version of Benson after being drugged from candy. He then made his first appearance in the pilot. In the short film The Naive Man from Lolliland, proto-Pops calls his chauffeur Benson, however in the film, Benson appears to be a more.

Although I'm glad that there are more than one of you who like Benson, I wish that you never thought of him as funny because I don't perceive that way. Besides, I treat funny like an insult due my dislike for funny stuff. Therefore, I favor serious stuff and beings.

How the hell can you think that Benson's when funny when he yells at Mordecai and Rigby? Suppose you yell at people who bad things who do bad things and they laugh at you. Would you like that?

If you think that receiving a heart attack for being angry a lot is funny, then don't blame anyone for not missing you in case you're every in that situation.

You see? Benson mostly has good reason for being the way that he is. If he isn't, then he'd be a really bad boss.

In case you comedy lovers don't realize, anger issues are NEVER funny. I mean, what if you deal with someone in real life who's always angry enough to kill you? You bet think about it. If you choose not to and continue to laugh at him or ...more

Dude, the guy is secretly awesome, you never know with what hide talent he will come, hyper sensitive, apparently boring, unpredictable, funny, and an adorable angry Gumball, he also has some kind of boyish charm. He is the dragon of the Minnie hooky, and the best drummer of the universe, the gumball has rock and roll on his vanes, made him angry and you will end up deaf in a crater in the ground opened by his powerful angry shouts... Sorry for my English, and love the guy, I don't understand how a dude as skips or even Rigby are better rated.

If Squidward's one of the Nickelodeon character I'd connect myself with, then Benson would be the Cartoon Network character I'd connect myself with. Like Squidward, he's got quite a temper and liked it when everything works out perfectly at the park he works. And there are people who hate him because he's mean to Mordecai and Rigby because they slack. I actually hated him for one that at one point. But I can totally connect myself for that. He's not being mean, he just wants everything to work out perfectly. Benson may not be my favorite overall, but Benson is just one of those characters I can connect myself with and have a beer with. (Even though I'm never gonna drink, lol) This guy just needs more love because he's way more than what you think he is.

Either Benson's my favorite character in the Regular show or the only one who I like because he's like me and these other characters in terms of personality:

1. Squidward Tentacles of SpongeBob SquarePants

2. Mr. Greenrind of Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island

3. Bert of Sesame Street

4. Kyle and Lenny of Fanboy and Chum Chum

5. Schnitzel

One of the reasons that I like Benson more than other characters is because he's the most serious character. And serious character are my kinds of characters (depending on the kinds of beings they are) because I can relate to them.

Another reason that I favor him over the other characters is that he's hot-tempered on the outside but well-meaning on the inside. And those are characteristics that me and those non-Regular Show characters have.

A third reason for my favoritism towards Benson is that he gets ticked off easily due to his having to deal with troublemakers like Mordecai and Rigby just ...more

6 Muscle Man Mitchell (Mitch) "Muscle Man" Sorrenstein is the sixth main character of Regular Show. He is one of the groundskeepers of the Park. He is a middle-aged, green, strong, and obese human, who is often seen with his best friend, Hi Five Ghost. Muscle Man made his first debut as a cameo character in the Pilot. He made his first official appearance in "Just Set Up the Chairs". Muscle Man is voiced by Sam Marin.

Muscle Man is so funny, my brother says that Muscle Man has a scream like a pig and that cracks both of us up. My friends and I like imitating Muscle Man's 'my mom' jokes. I like his gruff voice and weird personality, sometimes I think I'm a bit like Starla. Starla is one lucky girl.

Why would he insult his own mother?! Everyone except for Mordecai, Rigby, Skips, Benson, & (maybe) Pops are all tired of his my mom jokes. He doesn't seem to have any respect for the duo

No He's just gross and dumb, especially in that newer episode the end of Muscle Man. It was just a Starla episode. You know he was good back then, but not now.

Best character on the show. Easily. MY MOM! Eyuiyahiyahiyah. Don't know he is not in the top 3 he is the best. Funny always looking forward to seeing him in an episode!

7 Hi Five Ghost

He's ranked 4 for a reason. He's Muscle Man's lifelong friend and the most awesome ghost ever known in cartoonnetwork! He has his mark. The next is my top 3 most favorite characters on this show.

I like hi five ghost. He rarely says anything and all he does is follow mm around. He needs character development. So does Thomas, but I don't like him as much

We don't really know him. He needs to talk more. In most of the episodes he just sits in the background and doesn't talk.

HFG, he's a follower. there has only been like three episodes about him. but other than that, he's cooperating with Muscle Man on pranks or just high fiving Muscle Man after he makes his lame My Mum joke.
and his ghost power makes no sense. he is a ghost and I have seen him touch mortals and get punched by Muscle Man. I prefer his brother.

8 Eileen Roberts

Eileen's pretty cool, she doesn't judge guys for their qualifications when it comes to friendship. She's so sweet and she puts up with a lot of crap from that nasty Joanne.

She's Rigby's secret love and a coffee girl. She has been intwined with Rigby's, Mordecai's, etc. Fate by just meeting them. She has made it on the list!

Eileen" Aww, Is Rigby Ignoring You Because Your Not A Beautiful Swan Yet? "
Rigby stares
Eileen" Hey, Rigby, Look at me I just laid sea turtle eggs, and now I'm gonna swim out to sea, though many of my hatchlings won't live to adulthood".
Rigby skims his child's sized putter and sarcastically says" Let's Get This Over With".
Eileen Throughs Cilantro at rigby and says" Woo Who, congratulations on 2nd place rigby".
Rigby growns" uhh".

Eileen is really nice. she has waited for some time for Rigby. I just love Eileen. Rigby only cares for her looks. but Eileen cares for the heart. I mean what type person cares for some guy with no education

9 Baby Ducks

I like them because they are connected with Mordecai. And you know I love Mordecai!

These should be a higher rank. They saved their mom and the park.

A bunch of baby ducks, send em to the moon!

Baby ducks are hardcore

10 Cloudy "CJ" Jay

CJ has depth. CJ is cool, fun to be around and a very considerate person.

Mordecai and Rigby messed up many times, but Mordecai messed up royal with CJ and still she was willing to reconcile with Mordecai AND Margaret. Also Mordecai's mom loved her just as much.

It just my opinion. I think that Mordecai is much happier with her. I don't hate Margaret but lately her involvement become too complicated. It's like more broken heart than smiles when Margaret around. So, CJ for president!

Cloudy Jay is awesome! She is the prettiest character in the whole show. I prefer her over Margaret. She's fun and not boring like Margaret. She's the sort of character I'd want as a friend.

CJ isn't a bad character or anything. She's actually one of my favourite characters. She actually has animation on herself and I like the name Cloudy Jay. She is actually 1000000 times better than Margaret and besides if you make her angry, she'll kill you!

The Contenders
11 Thomas

Even though Thomas was a background character like Hi Five Ghost, he is still better. I was so mad at the end of the Russian spy episode, it was obvious the creators ran out of ideas so they made up this story to get rid of Thomas! What a rip off! They should've made that episode about HFG.

No Thomas is a Russin Spy, I like him, and I also got sad that he is not gonna be on the show again. I ranked him as my 3rd favorite character. Thomas even saved the park. Well actually he didn't want them to be hurt. Thomas is even good, when he's a Russian Spy. Bring him to at least #3.

Thomas never stuck out, but it was kinda what he was meant to do so Ill cut him some slack. However it got interesting when they that he was a Russian spy.

I just love him a lot. I wish we got to see more of him as Nikolai, but dreams don't always come true do they?

12 Margaret Smith

"Local News Legend" totally changed my view of her. It's showed how determined, strong, and brave she is, contrasting from the "feminine girly girl" people call her

Margaret is my LEAST favorite character, she has zero personality and adds NOTHING to the show. Thank god they got rid of her!

She was so cool and made Mordecai have a weakness which gives the relationship more depth unlike CJ.

Margaret is such a useless character the writers got rid of her for a reason.

13 Death

I've seen people put Death in a douchebag's outfit (props to you if you know what I'm talking about), but this is something new. In the short time he's on screen I'm always laughing.

Death was neat, I liked his design and personality a lot. I also liked his wife too.

Just for those of you who don't know he is based on the singer/bassist from the band Motörhead called Lemmy. That alone should get him in at least the top 5, just cus he's so ' cool!

He's the dictionary definition of badass.

14 Techmo

This guy is so cool, and he is a good friend of skips. He was once posessed by a computer virus! He is a technomancer and a stormchaser with that awesome car. He is sort of like a cyborg, and has a PININI maker in his ARM for crying out loud! This dude should be in the top 15, at least!

Thechmo is so cool. My other favorites are pops and Thomas but techmo just looks and acts cool.

He was in one episode. Get over it.

15 God of Basketball

Basket ball guy is amazing as he tries to show teach Rigby and mordecai how to play basketball. He also has a cool car which he drives in. In the end of the episode he helps Rigby and mordecai win by giving them basketball powers. Then he was also in Exit 9b where he is seen fighting the hammer until he gets hits by the no rules guy. he is also seen in the episode bank shot where he keeps track of rigbys shot after it goes off out of the window then comes back in play to score against the banks guy.

He is too paranormal!...

16 Garrett Bobby Ferguson
17 Don

I like him more then Rigby by a long shot!

18 Death Bear
19 The Wizard

He was seen in the power, terror tales of the park and skips strikes. he was a crude character who killed everyone in terror tales, and he had his keyboard stolen from him by Rigby. Also he was in the episode skips strike he used magic to turn a bowling ball into a rabbit. In that episode he was with the team the Magical Elements.

I remember when Rigby stole the Wizards electric piano when the wizard was peeing in the bush.

20 Guardian of the Friend Zone
21 Summertime Song

From my favorite episode

22 Low Five Ghost

This guy is the kind of ranked 9, cool, transparent guy you'd want to hang with! He is the Man. Being High Fives' bro and being half starred on the episode "See you there", he's made his way to becoming my top ten.

23 The Master Prank Caller
24 Were-Skunk

He's a really cool villain.

25 Bert Coleman

Who is that? I recognize the name but don't remember who the owner is
