Smartest Percy Jackson Characters
I think Annabeth is the smartest, especially if she were graded in school. She is interested in architecture, knows all about Greek and Roman monsters, etc.
However, I do think people exaggerate Annabeth's street smarts, like her being a good strategist when she really isn't. Yes, in The Mark of Athena, she dealt with that spider woman, but I think her intelligence is sometimes exaggerated.
I love her, but I think Leo beats her by just a bit. This is because she is kind of expected to be smart because of her mother. I think she could beat her mother in strategy, but Leo could out-build anyone. So it's just different types of intelligence. Although, both of them could talk themselves out of any situation.
He built a whole ship. Also, the line "I try not to think. It interrupts being nuts" is very interesting because it showcases that there is so much going on in his head that if he did start thinking, he would be overpowered. He is most definitely the "acts dumb but is smart" type. These are typically the smartest people you will meet in real life.
While I love Annabeth and everything she stands for, she wants people to know and understand that she is smart. Leo, on the other hand, doesn't care what people think of his intelligence, or maybe he just doesn't want people to know he's smart. It's kind of a long-term power move.
Athena is the goddess of intelligence. I think that's all that needs to be said.
While Athena is smart, intelligence and wisdom aren't the same things.
She is the goddess of wisdom! No need to say more than this.
Okay, why is Athena in third place? But whatever, I think that Nico should at least be in second place. I mean, the guy has done a lot of smart things, like finding a way to bring his sister back to life. He never did, but he could have if he wanted to.
He pulls the whole thing together. I think he has more street smarts than book smarts, but he also has high book smarts. He is most definitely underrated when it comes to his intellectual abilities.
So, he tricked a lot of people. He figured out the iron skin. Go Nico!
Numerous thefts and getting away with several of them! They got their father's cleverness (who should really be on this list - he was able to steal cattle when he was 5 and almost got away with it!). Anyway, they are really clever in my opinion. Connor and Travis for life!
Smart and sneaky. Kind of like Fred and George from Harry Potter.
Thalia is really smart when it comes to fighting. But I guess that since she's so much like Percy, she sometimes misses the obvious stuff. Percy is intelligent as well.
If any of you have read a Percy Jackson book, you would know that Percy pretends to be stupid or acts that way, but he's actually really smart. Annabeth and Hazel both agreed with that, as mentioned in the books, and surely anyone who knows Percy would agree with it too.
Also, why is Jason up there? He dedicated himself to getting minor gods recognition, which is smart, but Percy sacrificed immortality for that, which is much bigger, especially when he involved the gods.
Percy is smarter than Piper. He can be very sneaky and can sometimes make combat plans on the spot. Piper is more about following her instincts. Percy is also very sarcastic and is the one among the Seven who notices the gods' flaws the most. He can be oblivious to some things, but he can also be very observant when he pays attention.
Reyna is so much greater than Piper. Piper isn't amazing in any way, shape, or form. Reyna is an incredible leader, and while Piper does have her moments, let's face it - there's no way Piper is smarter than Reyna. Piper literally gets almost everything handed to her: money, looks, boyfriends, charmspeak. Reyna had to actually struggle.
The Newcomers
He's smart and became praetor. He survived alone since he was two and figured out that Nico was bait in MoA.
I guess Chiron is pretty smart. He is VERY old, so he must have gained a lot of knowledge over the years. He knows a lot, I guess. But not too much.
This guy was a legacy of Athena and Hephaestus. He was rewarded in his homeland for being smart, you know, until he pushed his nephew off a cliff. He built the Labyrinth, though! That's nice.
Although he is not exactly wise and apparently lacks good sense, there has to be some intelligence and wit in stealing from the King of the Gods and fooling practically all members of Camp Half-Blood. Besides, there must be some intelligence in surviving a few months of living on the streets.
He was low-key right about the gods. Just blinded by Kronos about the Titans.
He is very intelligent but underestimated. He is definitely shown as very wise, especially after Pan's death and Grover becoming Lord of the Wild.
