Books With the Most Satisfying Endings

You know that feeling when you spend a week or sometimes more reading a fantastic book, and you finally turn to the last few pages! Sometimes, you will feel disappointed and throw the book down, vowing never to read any book by that particular author again. But sometimes, you read through the last page, smile, let out a sigh, and say, "That was amazing..." This is what I am talking about. Which books have the most satisfying endings?
The Top Ten
1 The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

I enjoyed this ending so much. After reading through all four books, I was very excited to end the last book. I was no disappointed. This ending is nothing really that special, but it wraps up the series very well, and left a tear in my eye when I discovered that the experience was over. This book was simply amazing...

This story, to me, is perfection, and the last part of the trilogy was what made it what it is.

2 Percy Jackson and the Olympians- The Heroes of Olympus: Mark of Athena

The cliffhanger in this one was unbearable! I will never forget the feeling of buying the next book, rushing home, and reading the first 100 pages in a day because I was so exited to find out what happened!

I laughed every time I told someone that it left us with a cliffhanger.

That was a real cliffhanger, literally!

3 The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

When I read the final sentence of this book, a chill went down my spine, and I got goosebumps. I was very shocked.

Come on! Most satisfying! This is the ost unsatisfying ending to any book ever!
PETA is LEFT BEHIND!

4 Pet Sematary

Most of this book was not very frightening, but the last few chapters HORRIFIED me! If you enjoy horror books, then this is the book for you!

5 The Green Mile

The ending was very sad and depressing, but also very well written.

6 Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian

I was waiting for this moment to happen FOREVER! When I finally read it, I was in the best mood!

This ending made me smile. A great ending for an amazing series!

The series should have ended here! Best ending

7 Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Titan's Curse

Things really took a turn for he worse in this ending.

8 Maniac Magee

This book is close to my heart, as well as the ending. Jerry Spinelle is one of my favorite childhood authors.

9 Stargirl

I felt kind of empty when I read the ending, but empty in a good way. Get what I'm saying?

10 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K. Rowling

Of course! Harry potters is my world, my life, my heart. And to J.K Rowling. Thank you for bringing Harry Potter into my life!
He was the best friend I never had and that’s a lot to say. I could go on and on... but I’ll sum up here.
All was well. Come on! Potter heads out there you definitely had tears after you read this. And no other book will be the same.
That is All I have to say.

The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well.

Gryffindor’s red
Ravenclaw’s blue
I love Harry Potter and so do you.
All was well made me cry
And all was well made you too.

Sorry if it doesn't make sense.

The Contenders
11 Where the Red Fern Grows

Very sad. This book is a masterpiece!

12 To Kill a Mockingbird
13 Great Expectations - Charles Dickens

"I saw no shadow of another parting from her."

The ending can be interpreted in a couple different ways. What they are, I won't say, because it would spoil the book for you. Just read it!

14 11/22/63 - Stephen King

It could have ended many ways, but this works just fine.

15 The Truth - Peter James

Literally took my breath away. Completely unexpected and exciting.

16 The Ladykiller - Martina Cole
17 Champion - Marie Lu

Bittersweet, yet complete.

18 How to Fight a Dragon's Fury - Cressida Cowell

Best possible ending for the story of my childhood (how to train your dragon)

19 Behind Closed Doors - B.A. Paris
20 Behind Her Eyes - Sarah Pinborough
21 Bring Me Back - B.A. Paris
