Top 10 Prostitutes, Call Girls, Call Boys, and Escorts from Movies, Series, and Video Games
Prostitution, in its most basic definition, means offering your body in exchange for money.
In the United States, prostitution is illegal in almost all states and is widely frowned upon. The only exception is some regulated brothels in rural counties of Nevada, where prostitution is legal.
In Austria and Germany, prostitution is legal for people aged 18 and older. The age of consent in both countries is 14, but anyone over the age of 21 may only engage in sexual activity with those under 18 if it is not exploitative, which includes offering money, gifts, or opportunities. In Switzerland, prostitution is legal from the age of 16. While it may not be the most desirable occupation, prostitution is considered part of society. For example, in Austria, advertisements for sex workers can be found in regular newspapers. What is absolutely illegal in all of these countries is procuring or pimping. However, because prostitution is legal and regulated, there is no formal need for pimps or madams.
Movies and other media have depicted prostitutes in many different ways. The most common stereotype is that prostitution is an undesirable job in which, typically, a woman's need for money or drugs is exploited. However, there are also examples of films with a consensual tone from the prostitute's side, or even portrayals where female sex workers are shown as dominant and somewhat feminist, using their sex appeal to take advantage of men.
Media tend to focus more on female prostitutes, but there are also several depictions of male prostitutes, although they are less prominent.

Irma la Douce (Irma la Douce)
What I like about Irma is that she enjoys what she is doing and never falls into stereotypes. She is so desired that she can make a good living out of it. She only suffered from her pimp until the Jack Lemmon character knocked him out and protected her.
Irma has a cheerful personality and a positive life, despite her profession, and it's merely a profession to her. Shirley MacLaine did an amazing job.

Aileen Wuornos (Monster)
Aileen Carol Wuornos (born Pittman, February 29, 1956 - October 9, 2002) was an American serial killer who murdered seven men in Florida between 1989 and 1990.
Wuornos claimed that her victims had raped or attempted to rape her while she was working as a prostitute, and that the killings were... read more
This is the other side of prostitution, the bizarre contrast to Irma La Douce. Aileen Wuornos suffered a terrible life of abuse and rape and never knew what love was until she met Selby. This woman, not exactly what most people would call attractive, was never given a proper chance in life. This ultimately led to her downfall and her hatred, especially toward men.
"Monster" is one of the greatest and most powerful movies I have ever seen, mostly due to its sensitive portrayal of Aileen. It is especially painful since it is based on true events.
