The Top Ten
1 Absolute MMA

I've actually trained at 3 different gyms over the past 10 years. How can I describe my experience? Have you ever been skiing and your buddies take you to the top of the double-black-diamond run and as you flop off the ski lift they shout, "See you at the bottom! " Well at the other gyms they tended to cater to the advanced members and I felt that I was left to flop on my face and be the punching bag for the other guys that knew what they were doing. When I walked in the doors at Absolute MMA there was a definite different feeling. The gym is bright, clean and welcoming. As I workout there, the coaching is first and foremost welcoming and I actually feel comfortable to ask the advanced guys for pointers and they are awesome at taking the time. The other gyms seemed to have the feeling everyone was walking around sizing everyone up and grumpy all the time. Rob Handley and Pedro Sierra are running a very upbeat and inspiring gym. I signed my 11 year old boy up because I appreciate the ...more

I can't talk about the life changing experience yet, since I barely started at absolute MMA. But what I can say is that I felt like home the moment I entered the gym. Pedro is a great guy, and the crew is amazing, humble and supportive. I actually fell on my bottom in first 5 minutes of being there. We did a shadowing and I threw a knee and my back leg followed and I landed pretty hard :) but you know what nobody was laughing at me. One of the guys just said you're OK get up, it happens to everyone.
Wow what else is there to say. by the way they treat ladies as equal so don't expect to be spared of hard work if you're a female. I can talk only for my self, and I felt welcomed and respected and in that kind of environment you can only give the same. I hope this is a beginning of a long and beautiful friendship for me. Come, see, stay

I've been coming to Absolute MMA for a little while now and I notice that the instructors and the members are always positive. I'm new to martial arts and don't know a whole lot yet Everyone makes me feel like I'm an important part of the team. It's not just the instructors who make an effort to teach me, all of the people I work with here try to show me things to improve what I do. Absolute MMA is a great place to get a killer workout and be surrounded by awesome people.

Absolute MMA has changed my life for the better forever. Professor Rob Handley and Professor Pedro Sierra care about the students in a way that you will never experience anywhere else. They have the gift of pushing you just beyond what you feel you are capable of. Absolute MMA is a place to learn, to exercise and to grow as a person. I am truly privileged to call Absolute home, I will never be able to thank them enough.

2 Ultimate Combat Training Center

Awesome classes and awesome instructors! There are a wide variety of times of classes offered, it's definitely easy to get your training in no matter what time of day! Instructors are kind and helpful, very approachable and willing to assist with any and all your needs. The environment there is one of a kind! Other members are extremely friendly, great place to meet friends. The gym also has a lot of fun activities and events outside of training. Very clean facility packed with everything you need for training. There are plenty of opportunities to advance in your martial arts training. Many trainers and other members travel to Thailand to train Muay Thai and they also attend a lot of competitions. Highly recommend this amazing gym!

Haha...I originally made this post from a computer at the gym. I am not an employee, but heard about it from another member. I am an old-skool UCTCite, so they let me hop on the computer at the front desk. It showed up as them making the post, but I assure you it wasn't!

Here is my post (And vote):
I originally joined this gym because they were right up the street from me. I have since moved 20 miles away, but make the trek daily. I love this place, and would consider it a huge hole in my heart if I were to leave it. I absolutely love the people at UCTC!

Don't let the friendly atmosphere fool you. This fight gym boasts a full size ring, great equipment and top level trainers. If you're just looking for a great work out, the I Love Kickboxing (ILKB) classes are a fun option. But if you're looking for technical training, UCTC has both top UFC-signed fighters as well as highly skilled juijitsu (Caio Terra), Muay Thai (Tiger Muay Thai) and boxing (golden gloves) instructors. The gym's Fight Team is a blast and has many of the state's top talent competing in the Rocky Mountain fight circuit.

Amazing place - I joined about a year and a half ago with no previous martial arts experience. The trainers were great at helping me get going, and the other members were welcoming and friendly. I've since lost about 35 lbs, gotten significantly stronger and more confident, signed up my son and my husband, tried a wide variety of classes, and made going to the gym one of the high points of my day. Love these people!

World Class Martial Arts is amazing! My husband and I and my two boys do classes there. The instructors are amazing. My boys have grown so much in the last 5 months. KJN Andy expects respect and other great qualities during class and out of class also (at home and school). It feels like family there. All the instructors are incredable with kids and adults.

Master Andy and Moses took everyone to perform at the Utah Jazz Halftime show. It was such a great experience, even though it was a bit scary. Thank you for helping us overcome our fears and face that crowd! This is perfect for our whole family.

They are the best! They support and back up parents helping my children be more respectful and in control of their tempers. I recently started myself and they are so encouraging, helpful, and push me beyond anything I think I could do!

Grand Master Tony is an excellent teacher. He cares about his "kids". I felt valued as a student and enjoy the lessons learned from him and other dedicated black belts. Other shops I have been with seemed dedicated about my learning but I feel like Tony's shop is more like family.

This is a great karate school. All of the teachers are very knowledgeable and take their time to insure you understand what is being taught.

My son and I both reached black belt and became assistant instructors. Almost all of the assistant instructors are "home grown. 8 Hidden Valley MMA

I really appreciate the fact that the website gives me all the info I need. I just want to know where I will be traveling to and how much I need to budget per month. Almost every other martial arts website I've been to is very cagey about their pricing and many don't even have an address in plain view on the website. It's been frustrating. I appreciate that Hidden Valley seems very upfront with all their information. For that reason alone I'm more likely to consider this dojo.

Excellent place to train, the level of knowledge and skill of the instructors there is incredible. They take the time to make sure you understand the techniques and that you can apply them effectively but safely. This place is family oriented, so happy to call them my family.
