Strongest Marvel and DC Comic Characters
And I mean, physical strength and hand to hand combat. No flying. Just pure wrestling.

Superman
Superman is a fictional comic book character and arguably the first powerful superhero of the modern era. The character was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, who were high school students in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1933. Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1, published by National... read more
Haha I'm gonna go ahead and take that guy's comment on The Hulk and turn it on him.
Let's talk about Superman's heat vision.
Sure, it gives off gamma rays, yup. Now, the real question is, can The Hulk stand in the core of the sun without burning up? I don't think so. It is plausible that Superman's heat vision can go to as hot as he would want (most likely hotter than the core of the sun itself) it to get until the solar energy was drained inside him.
Next! Hulk can lift 100 tons. Amazing. That's an amazing base strength level. Superman's base is 200 quintillion tons. Now, you might say, that's All-Star Superman and "it doesn't count". Then, let's take the Gray Hulk out of the equation as well, hence 0 Hulk intelligence put up against Superman's brain which processes... Thousands of times faster than a normal human. So, stripped down to basics, Superman can move planets, while the Hulk can lift 100 tons. Damn, that's a lot of blue whales.
The next point of surviving "coldest temperatures". That's great, but Superman can also fly in the deepest reaches of space. Plus he basically lives in the Arctic. What's the point? They can both survive in really cold temperatures. But, I'm pretty sure Superman wouldn't kill off the Hulk so easily.
And combining those last few points, about Hulk's regeneration and the strength. The speed of light is 186282.4 miles per second. Superman can fly x6 that speed, if not faster (which is highly probable), making Superman virtually invisible, much less untouchable. The official write up on Marvel.com says that the Hulk could ALMOST jump into orbit, so the statement that he "can jump into orbit" is false. Now, The Hulk CAN jump 3 miles in 6 seconds, which is, once again, incredible. Roughly that's 1800 miles per second. Let's give the Hulk and say he can move at 2000 miles an second. NOW 186282 x 6 is equal to 1117692 miles an second. That is the speed as to what Superman moves... read more

Hulk
Robert Bruce Banner, also known as The Hulk or Bruce Banner, is a fictional superhero in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Yes, finally someone makes some sense, ok time to explain!
Superman Vs Hulk
Ok Supermans heat vision, wont help. Heat gives off gamma rays, increasing hulks strength, and he is invulnerable to fire, and extremely high temperatures. Superman can't to anything with hulks mind because hulk cannot be mentally attacked in any way. All the things that Supes pulls off on hulk makes him madder. When hulk is calm he can lift 100 tons with ease, that's a lot of blue whales. Hulk can jump into space, and breath under water. He can survive through the coldest temperatures. Better yet, his body can heal it self incredibly quickly. He has survived having all of his flesh burnt off of him, and he can regenerate it back in a few minutes. Superman has one problem witch I think gives the hulk the edge. Superman weakens over time in battle. Hulk just gets more and more pissed, and has limitless strength. This has been bothering me for ages! Hulk has the edge, FACE IT!

One Above All
The One Above All not to be confused with the Celestial of the same name is THE supreme being of Marvel and the Living Tribunal s master. He is the only being in the entire Marvel multiverse with true omnipotence.
When you think of God as the creator of all in the real world if you are that way inclined, the One Above All is essentially Marvel s version of that supreme being. He is the reason everything in the Marvel multiverse exists including every other character in this list and, as such, he possesses every possible power you can imagine and he possesses it on a truly multiversal scale, allowing him to, quite literally, do anything he wants to do.
He has actually interacted with some lesser characters on occasion, such as when the Fantastic Four travelled to the edge of existence and ended up in his realm. He took the form of the late Marvel artist, writer and editor Jack Kirby another reason that leads some people to believe that he and the Fulcrum are one and the same and he healed Reed Richards horribly disfigured face.
He also took the form of a homeless man and spoke to Spider Man, telling him that he should be with his Aunt May as she was dying, trying to console him in the process by saying that death was natural. Peter did not listen to him.

Thor
Thor Odinson is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character, based on the Norse mythological deity of the same name, is the Asgardian god of thunder and possesses the enchanted hammer Mjolnir, which grants him the ability of flight and weather manipulation... read more
Thor is openly admitted by Stan Lee as the strongest and most powerful character in comic book history. Every hero (including Hulk) has a weakness of some sort. Thor has none. His intellect is massively superior, he has been training in the arts of war and battle for thousands of years, against enemies far greater than that even encountered in the lower ends of the Avengers. His strength is unrivaled, he has even been known to move entire planets by just brute strength. Not forgetting the most powerful weapon in the entire universe Mjolnir. Thor is infinitely more powerful than anyone and his also extremely likable on all fronts. A fantastic addition to marvel comics, Thor reigns over all entities.
-

This is about pure physical strength.
Scarlet Witch is at average human strength.
Wolverine is about as strong as a human can get, lifting maybe a cow.
She Hulk can lift about 91 tons. She could lift up maybe a jet plane.
Hulk, at an enraged state, not base, could lift up maybe the world's tallest building, Burj Dubai.
Apocalypse has no limit to his strength, but at base, maybe the same as Hulk.
Thor could probably lift up one of the smaller asteroids in the asteroid belt.
Doomsday could probably lift up Mount Everest, the tallest mountain.
Which Juggernaut? I'm assuming Cain Marko at near full power. He could definitely lift up one of the larger asteroids.
Red Hulk could probably lift the entire island of Manhattan at enraged state.
Darkseid at full power could lift the moon like you lift a bowling ball.
Sentry could lift up this entire planet.
The current Silver Surfer could lift up our sun, but would struggle a lot.
Which Thanos? Which Superman?
Current full-power Thanos could lift the solar system.
Original full power Superman could lift the solar system as well.
I named 14 characters that fit the top 15 in order of strength. Who did I miss? Galactus, the world eater. Even on his deathbed, he could lift up our solar system with nothing. At full power, he throws our galaxy across the Universe & bring it back like Cap. Now, who do you think is the strongest?

Thanos
Thanos is a fictional supervillain featured in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Thanos merged with the Heart of the Universe, this made him a god. He could even kill a Celestial with but a glance! Thanos decided that the true sign of his ultimate power would be to destroy the universe and become the one true supreme being.
He later chose to remove the Heart of the Universe from existance. This removed his power. But the merges Thanos could and did destroy everything and everyone. There is no other character could even get near.
Thanos is strong, but he usually requires the stone's powers, which other people should be able to wield with the infinity gauntlet. So he is strong, and can be extremely strong, but only with outside power.

Imagine all of the most powerful mutations put into one mutant. Phoenix, Magneto, Professor X, and etc into one epic villain called Apocalypse.
He can absorb physical powers he is invincible. He is definitely the strongest character. He can steel powers from other charters.
Apocalypse is thousands of years old, he's existed before all this mutants.
-
Juggernaut
Juggernaut, whose real name is Cain Marko, is a fictional character in Marvel Comics. He first appeared in X-Men issue #12 in July 1965 and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Known for his immense strength and near-unstoppable momentum, Juggernaut is a frequent adversary of the X-Men.
He is the unstoppable because once he gains momentum nothing on earth can stop him. He is invulnerable and has unlimited strenth, stamina and agilty. He has a gem of Cyttorak which gives him all his power. He has not been beaten by thor, hulk or anyone but by apocalypse and by hulk's son Skaar.
Juggernaut's powers is magic in origin and his strength is limitless he can be as strong as he wants to be.
8th Day Juggs and Trion Juggs are known to be even stronger versions of Juggernaut. Even WWHulk (strongest version of Hulk) knew not to mess with him and avoided the fight.
-
Doomsday
Doomsday is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, usually depicted as an adversary of Superman. He first appeared in Superman: The Man of Steel #17 in 1992 and is best known for being the character who killed Superman in the 1992 storyline The Death of Superman... read more
In all aspects Doomsday is the strongest, because he can innately get stronger from dying.
The Hulk gets stronger the angrier he gets, while Doomsday gets stronger and more invulnerable every time he dies. I also don't think the Hulk can out anger the effects of the vacuum or escape say a black hole. What's he going to do jump off a planet that's getting sucked in, troll physics anyone? This is of course if were going by normal science physics, which most science fiction does. If there are no boundaries than any character could be the strongest. But let's be honest, I mean how far can Gamma Radiation really take Bruce Banner...
Superman gets his strength from the sun, the same power source as Doomsday. Although, Doomsday does not need the sun to regenerate, he just needs it to speed up that process.
Thor... Thor may be considered a god to human's, but let's be honest if Doomsday went up against Thor it would be no match at all. Doomsday gets stronger every time he dies, he is beyond invincible he's immortal and gains strength of becoming immune to what kills him.
Galactus... Apocalypse... Honestly I don't see superman or the Hulk beating these two, and Doomsday would die a LOT. In the end however I think that Doomsday would kill Apocalypse and Galactus, because he simple gets stronger every time he dies.

Deadpool
Deadpool is a fictional antihero created by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in New Mutants #98, published in February 1991, and was created by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza. Fun fact! deadpool not only killed mostly everyone in the Marvel Universe, but then proceeded to kill the creators, making people like the beyonder, thor, and hulk, to never exist. Deadpool can destroy the actual marvel universe! if he can do that to D.C. then it's game over for everyone. No way deadpool can kill superman 1v1, but he can destroy superman's universe, killing him and everyone else with it! Deadpool is definitely the strongest of all of them
Deadpool is one of my favorite marvel villains! He can never die! For example you cut his head off and every other limb on his body stick to a bomb and make it explode. Deadpool will still be alive! Well it would take ages to regenerate back his limbs. But still! Who is the merc with the mouth? Deadpool! Seriously guys he should be around 15 or up!

Living Tribunal
First off he is #1, his third face is instant death. Adam Warlock had the Gems that is the only reason he withstood it. This list is a joke if you think Superman or Hulk can take him on!
His heads decide the destiny of the Multiverse. He 'Il
Sacrifice billion lives for trillion lives. He is only second to the One Above All..
No, living tribunal should be #3. The Presence and The ONE Above All are true omnipotents.

Darkseid
Darkseid is a fictional supervillain in DC Comics, created by writer and artist Jack Kirby. He made a cameo in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #134 and fully debuted in Forever People #1. Darkseid is so overpowered that its funny. He can travel at speeds that Superman can which is seriously fast, he has fought against Trigon and survived. Darkseid's prescence puts absolute fear into the Universe as if his name was like Voldermort. Also Darkseid was able to kill a Green Lantern at 8 years old and survive against Ares, Zeus.
Darkseid is the son of thor and batwoman, dark side is OP! He could lift 10 cars without his hands, legs or intestines! ' #1 by far far far!
Could have killed superman but decided to torture him instead. He also killed brainiac!
-
The Presence
The fact that superman is #1 is retarded. I keep seeing people saying that since Shazam, Black Adam or Doomsday have beaten Superman, then that makes the top 5. That makes them top 75 maybe. They don't think about character that are above the level of a physical form. Characters that are truly Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Immortal, and Omniscient. Character more powerful than Superman, Martian Manhunter or The Flash for example, have no chance at beating these supreme being. Characters like The Beyonder, The Presence, The One Above All, or The Living Tribunal could erase superman, hulk, Shazam etc. from existence to where Superman never existed at all. What can the Hulk honestly do to someone like Galactus. Is he gonna punch him to death? Is he gonna physically beat, a character who as the ability to warp reality to his will and whose true form is beyond comprehension. Hulk, Superman and in general all the most popular superheroes like Batman, Deadpool, or Captain America are so overrated and are seen as the highest standard for power in their respective universes.

Wolverine
Wolverine is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly associated with the X-Men. His powers and abilities include an accelerated healing factor, enhanced senses, and his signature adamantium claws and skeleton.... read more
Ummm Let's see Wolverine can almost go on the same fighting level as health, he was once ripped by Hulk in half then just regenerated in like 3 days, Wolverine killed the strongest mutant ( Jean Grey ). Basically Immortal and if you want to know why Wolverine is stronger than Thor, Have you seen the Avengers movie, you could see Thor getting punched by Hulk numerous times while Wolverine can just dodge them.
This has to be First. He has adamantium claws, can fight in hand to hand combat and has regenerative powers. He killed quite possibly the most powerful mutant is Jean Grey/Phoenix and he was also ripped in half by the Hulk. Stan Lee said the only way to kill him is to cut out his heart and throw it into the sun.

Captain Marvel
Carol Susan Jane Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is portrayed by Brie Larson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. Created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gene Colan... read more
Captain Marvel is capable of defeating Superman, which should automatically put him around #2 or #3. However, the popularity of the previous characters definitely makes voters neglect characters like Captain Marvel. He has a power overload, and has the attributes of many different gods and heroes. The New 52 comic on Captain Marvel, describes him as having many powers that he has not discovered. His only flaw (that I can think of) is that he is mortal and that he has a "childish" nature. Sure, certain comics have other heroes defeating him (e. G Superman, or Thor in the Marvel-DC crossover), but that is mainly based off reasons of popularity. It is natural for DC to neglect Billy's potential in order to idolize the more "well-known" characters. After all, Batman has defeated Superman multiple times, which is solely based off of the bias against Superman. From this, it can be concluded that a character's popularity definitely affects how he or she is portrayed in the comics. Overall, you may not like the Captain, but his undeniably at least ONE of the most powerful characters among Marvel or DC. I would place him at Number 4, behind Thanos, Darkseid, and Apocalypse, but definitely above Supes, Hulk, or Thor

Flash
The Flash is the name of several superheroes featured in American comic books published by DC Comics. The most well-known version, Barry Allen, first appeared in Showcase #4 in October 1956 and was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino. The character's primary power is super speed, achieved... read more
The Flash. Being the one, that can perceive things at attosecond, simply means no one should be able to ever catch him off guard. Ability to run at speeds, exceeding the speed of light means, that no one, realistically, should be be able to even see him coming. And his other skills, such as infinite mass punch (which is really more of energy, not mass) in theory would enable him to shatter fabric of reality with his punches. Not to mention complete control over his molecular structure etc.
The sad part, why make him so powerful, and not USE these powers most of the time, for the obvious sake not to ruin the plot..
Can travel through time and prevent whoever he wants from ever existing...don't see anyone else doing that. Superman? Go back to his birth (Flash can run from planet to planet) and kill him as a baby if need be. When you can move faster than any other being in existence, it's hard to say someone could kill you. Can't kill what you can't see. All these people that are "immortal" could just be ripped apart by him and spread to different parts of the universe in a matter of seconds before anyone else knew what happened if they used his full power.
-
Phoenix Force
Jean Grey is one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe, the epitome of goddess. When the Phoenix possessed her daughter from another timeline, Rachel, she was able to defeat Galactus. I feel like people underestimate her when she could easily take down almost any other character on this list
The Phoenix Force is the essence invincibility. The ability to destroy anything without touching it. The only plausible opponents would be God himself or Galactus.

Rama Kushna
-
Black Adam
Black Adam is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. He is one of the main adversaries of the superhero Shazam, who was formerly known as Captain Marvel. Black Adam was originally depicted as a villain but has since evolved into a more complex antihero.
He can kill superman that alone should make him top 5. The fact that he can fight superman and captain marvel at the same time should make him top 3.
-
The Beyonder
He was the sum of a whole universe mad into the form a man. His powers were limitless. It took the power of the Molecule Mad aided by the Silver Surfer to chanel his power back into another universe during his attempt to be born in his birthing machine. He should be high on the list!
He got the entire Marvel Comic characters to take it out against him. Only the accidental creator of his, Owen, AKA the molecule man, finally put him to sleep while the Beyonder was rebirthing himself.
I thought the beyonder was supposed to be beyonders, plural. A race, not single guy. Still, incredibly powerful, requiring the explosion of molecule man to kill one beyonder, destroying several universes in the process.

Dr. Manhattan
Doctor Manhattan is a fictional character who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. He debuted in the graphic novel miniseries Watchmen, published in 1986 and 1987. I understand that having this discussion is fun and enjoyable, yet I honestly don't know how this topic goes any further than Dr. Manhattan? He is the most powerful being in ANY comic book universe. He is literally made of energy and can do ANYTHING! I will say this again... He. Can. Do. Anything. The only beings that would even stand a chance against him would have to be Gods, or other worldly type creations. He is, for lack of a better term, God. One wave of his hand and bye bye Superman. Another wave and he just eviscerated the Hulk. Any super hero who must breathe oxygen, he just sent them to Mars. See where I'm going here? He wins. Hands down. Period. End of sentence. Next topic.
-
Red Hulk
A more aggressive, military minded, version of the Green Hulk. And known to be tougher! If that's even possible!
How come I have never heard of red hulk, and why haven't they made comics or T.V. shows about this
He is the best and he should be stronger than green hulk.

Adam Warlock
Adam Warlock, originally known as Him or Adam, is a fictional character from American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Fantastic Four issues #66-67 and later in Thor issues #165-166. The character is known for his cosmic powers and connection to the Soul Gem.
Marvel Database about Adam Warlocks power. "Immortality: While Adam can be killed, he never truly dies. This is due to the fact his soul is so strong, even Death herself cannot claim his soul. As such, he can be reborn."
The undying is never gonna fail without coming back again and again and again. He won't stop until he wins. He'll win in no time.

Orion
Orion is the weilder of the Astro Force. Basically DC's version of the Power Cosmic. Plus, he's a god with strength and speed on par with Superman. He has a berserker rage and a Mother Box.
