Top 10 Best First-Person Shooter (FPS) Multiplayer Games
First FPS I ever played that I found better than Call of Duty. Still would consider this the best entry into the series.
Massive maps, many, many players, drive, fly, and shoot - what else can you ask for?
Everything else was downhill after this.
A greatly engineered multiplayer fun! Must-have, worth buying! Those equipment, killstreak rewards, maps - just amazing!
Awesome game! Nice graphics and good gameplay. Recommended on PS3. The killstreak combinations really make this game a lot of fun!
The ultimate best multiplayer experience (apart from hackers).
Best Call of Duty game and better than any of the above. My favorite game along with Uncharted 2 and 3.
This game is great, but where is Call of Duty BO2?
Team Fortress should be number one. It's free, fun, and on some occasions, funny. You get taunts. It's like the origin of Plants vs. Zombies warfare. TF2 is very popular. It has great classes. I love the Spy, and you might not believe this, but it has a story. TF2 should be number one.
Am I the only person who likes Team Fortress 2 the best but doesn't complain like a little child about Call of Duty?
I'm not one of those TF2 fans that whines about Call of Duty and Battlefield, but this really should be higher.
This is the greatest multiplayer on the face of the Earth. The connection is brilliant, and you have vehicles such as jets, helicopters, tanks, and more to drive around. This game is a great team-focused shooter.
The saying "the bigger, the better" doesn't always apply, but here, it is absolutely true. It has everything you could want from a shooter, executed extremely well. It deserves to stand among the best (i.e., TF2, CS, etc.).
Amazing graphics, amazing gameplay, good modern-day shooters compared to trash old WWII/WWI-themed games. Amazing, fits every need perfectly.
Does some really nice stuff and way less gun-and-run headless chicken gameplay than boyfriend's or Call of Duty's.
Great graphics, great storyline, unleashes the real power of the PS3. Really needs to be one of the best shooters out there.
Massive maps and battles, or small and centralized, it's all here.
The FPS game that made Call of Duty extremely popular!
This is the best Call of Duty by a mile!
I think Portal is not actually an FPS. It's more like a puzzle game with an FPS interface. But it's cool!
Well, when you think online FPS, this is the first to come to your mind, right? No? Just me?
Try it and you will know why it is the best game.
Supports so many different play styles, no matter what background you may come from. It can be quick to pick up but has so much to learn, master, and counter. Every character is a blast and all have their role to play depending on each team's structure.
This is by far the best multiplayer FPS to date. Complete balance, nothing felt overpowered, and the most varied and entertaining game modes. This game put online FPS on the map and hasn't been surpassed since.
Modern-day shooters would do well to copy a lot from it. Theater mode with the ability to record every last detail of a match, whether it be other players, following specific bullets you fired from a sniper, and recording the entire kill from shot to landing. Posting videos for friends and others to see. Open chat between teams after matches for trash talk. Nothing comes close.
I agree. If you want to be a real FPS gamer, then you should play Quake. Otherwise, you're just a poser.
I tell you guys, this series of Quake has 20 years of multiplayer history. It was, is, and will be the only shooter that will stand the test of time. Shooters will come and go, but Quake Live will endure longer than you can imagine! This is Quake Live. To be continued!
Quake Live placed below those games on the list? No way! It should be at the top.
