Best Paper Mario Bosses
The music is amazing, along with the entire world giving you their power to defeat the Shadow Queen. Plus, you also have to fight Peach and use the items you've worked so hard to collect to utterly destroy her. The lore of the four heroes makes it even better.
Super Paper Mario is my favorite game in the series, but this is easily the best boss. It's intensely challenging and keeps you on your toes constantly. Plus, it's a surprisingly dark and atmospheric fight and one of the most intimidating in the series.
Amazing music, and he was fairly difficult due to his 2 defense and those 3 ice minions he can spit at you. I also enjoyed his freeze attack, the ability to heal himself for 20 HP, and his cloning ability.
Bowser wasn't nearly as hard as The Crystal King. Can Bowser freeze you?
Super Dimentio is my favorite final boss because of his excellent design, personality, and intense gameplay. Turn-based battle systems can sometimes feel less dramatic since they don't flow as naturally, but the sheer drama of the scene and the music make up for it. He is essentially the pure incarnation of evil power - the Chaos Heart, its perfect host Luigi, and its controller Dimentio. He had enough power to destroy the multiverse and rewrite it in his image.
It took all of the heroes, Pixls, ancients, Pure Hearts, Bleck, and his love with his minions to defeat him. Even then, he left behind his power to ensure the destruction of all worlds, which could only be banished by Blumiere and Timpani's union. Super Dimentio could only lose to the one force stronger than chaos - love.
People like to complain about how easy he was, but let me just say that if Super Dimentio were actually hard, he would far outdo the Shadow Queen. For all the reasons stated above, he is much more dramatic than her in many ways. If he were difficult, he would be the final boss to end all final bosses. The only reason the Shadow Queen comes close is that she is harder to defeat. If you want a greater challenge, use a Gecko code to lower your stats, or, if you're not willing to cheat, try to beat him by only using Barry to knock his projectiles back at him. Problem solved.
Ha ha. General Guy is easily the funniest and happiest-sounding boss in Paper Mario. The infantry, especially the little Shy Guy screams, made it funny and cool to fight. And the line "Where did you get those moves? They're too powerful! You're breaking the rules of war!" made me laugh. I was like, "What, is level 15 Mario too hard for you?"
A general who is also a Shy Guy! What more do you need? Wait, I know - a Starbucks Shy Guy.
He's the leader of the Shy Guys, and how can you not like Shy Guys?
This dude is no pushover. He's got three forms and can do some damage in each. Once you learn the tricks to this boss, he's not that difficult, but it's still a fairly challenging and fun battle.
Cortez is probably one of the most intimidating bosses in The Thousand-Year Door. He's a creepy pirate skeleton ghost who can't die and sucks out the souls of your audience. In my opinion, Cortez is scarier than the Shadow Queen.
How can you not be intimidated by a big, bad, scary skeleton pirate ghost with 4 arms?
After a somewhat underwhelming fight with Grodus, you immediately have to face a much tougher Bowser and his underling, Kammy Koopa. It's easily one of the hardest Bowser fights there is.
I don't know why this is my favorite. Maybe it's because you're not fully prepared when you finally make it to him in The Thousand-Year Door.
It's the Teenage Mutant Ninja Koopas, and they're the coolest of the cool with style, attitude, and an awesome battle theme!
Somehow, I both loved and hated him. I used Lakilester and Bow, but each had their faults. Lakilester took huge damage due to Cloud 9 failing, and Bow could only attack one foe at a time. His attacks were a pain, but the music was epic and the battle was cool.
Doopliss is a very unique and memorable boss in the Mario series. Why? Because he is the only character in Mario history to have completely stolen Mario's body and name from him.
It's even funnier when you give him the wrong name before finding his true identity. Let's see. Is your name "PastramiButt"?
He's pretty weak, but also pretty good. 8/10.
Bonetail is really cool, but tough. The Pit of 100 Trials wears you out a lot, and he's hard to beat even at level 50.
He is tough to get to if you don't invest in BP, but I beat him at level 30. The badge he gives you is worth the trip - or trips. If you beat him before facing the Shadow Queen, it will make her a bit easier.
How is this guy so low? He was actually more challenging than Super Dimentio because of the final boss's ridiculous hitbox. Frankly, this is the real final boss to me. Also, why does nobody talk about his music?
Count Bleck definitely has the best story of any Mario villain by a long shot.
She's original, creative, memorable, and did I mention incredibly terrifying?
Backstabbing dude. What a way to end my second favorite TTYD chapter.
This fight has amazing music. It's my favorite fight in the Glitz Pit!
What's not to love about an awesome, poison-breathing dragon? His design just screams awesome!
Having Bow slap that "invincible" big guy was just so satisfying. Having him chase you before the fight was also great!
He's a big, bad, invincible monster that likes to eat ghosts! Not to mention his battle music is also very catchy.
For a guy who's invincible, he's pretty weak. I think the real boss is his heart.
Rawk Hawk is so much fun. I was disappointed when I defeated him before he got on the ceiling.
This fight is so good. His design is amazing. Dimentio is one of my favorite Mario villains.
Cool boss. They should have given him more health, but his chomp attack is 9 instead of 10 or 11.
This fight was really fun. It can be frustrating when the claw comes out and deals 10 damage.
