Top 10 Best Fallout Series Companions

I love Fawkes so much. He is incredibly strong. His default weapon is a Gatling Laser. He has 9000 health and is an amazing character.

What a lot of people don't know about Fawkes is that he was locked in the cell for over 200 years. In that time, he was able to keep his sanity and show human nature. He is kind and compassionate. Definitely the best companion and one of the strongest characters in the series.

Boone is a realistic badass. He's not a tryhard moronic brute like Fawkes, who says pseudo-intellectual book quotes and has 9000 HP while carrying an overpowered laser minigun. Boone is a real, normal veteran with a troubled past and a sniper rifle. He can follow you along anywhere without taking all your kills and babbling nonsense. Hell, he rarely even talks!

Boone is by far the best New Vegas companion. He is superb at combat and a very interesting character. I consider both his quests to be some of the best in the game, and I love how badass he is. Great character, great companion.

ED-E is so awesome. He doesn't judge you on your choices in the game. He carries a lot of weight, he has a great weapon, and the best part is he has his own battle and victory music.

I don't think anybody can replace ED-E. He is definitely the best.

Nick is amazing. I love his noir detective persona, and his ability to hack terminals and pick locks saved a lot of time. He also helps you find your son and is all around a great guy.

I love all the Dogmeats, but the Fallout 3 version will always be my favorite.

Ok, the second you purchase this guy's contract, you know you're in for a treat. Charon is the most badass companion in my opinion. His default weapon is the Combat Shotgun, which is already a very good weapon.

He has no karma requirement, so he doesn't judge you. But I think the best thing about him is his personality. He has to serve anyone who has his contract and doesn't judge you. However, if you fire him with evil karma, he will attack you because, since he is no longer serving you, he will act upon his moral beliefs. Just awesome.

Now, I put Arcade down here because, while I love his character and side quest, his combat is mediocre. Arcade's default weapon is the Plasma Defender, which could be used effectively, but Arcade's range is subpar compared to his weapon. His perk is useless.

However, I think he is an amazing character. His side quest is so awesome and fun. He is kind of paranoid but is always eager to help, and his dialogue is great. So I still consider him a good companion and like using him.

This guy is a hassle to get, but he is so worth it.

This is probably the first companion you will recruit in the whole series, and he is a great first impression. Ian is a pretty basic companion. His best weapon type is a pistol, but he has great accuracy, and I think he is the best companion in the original game.

Butch suffers from the same problems that Arcade has because he is a good character, but his combat is meh. His default weapon is the 10mm Pistol, which isn't too bad but could be better. His biggest problem is that you unlock him too late in the game for him to actually be powerful.

Now, character-wise, he is great. I love his dialogue and his confidence. I think his haircut ability is nice, but the best thing about him is the Tunnel Snakes. "Tunnel Snakes Rule."

This guy is hilarious. His dialogue when in combat is so funny. His weapons are a plasma rifle and a flamethrower, which is already a huge bonus. He can heal himself without stimpacks. The only problem is he has neutral karma, but that can be overlooked because of how cool he is.

Sarge is awesome! I'm surprised he's not higher on this list. He's very funny and comical, he kicks butt, and has saved mine tons of times. I love this dude.
