Top 10 Worst Things About Genshin Impact

This list is intended to provide constructive criticism of the less-than-ideal aspects of Genshin Impact. While the game has gained critical acclaim over the years for its beautiful visuals, expansive and unique open world, and engaging gameplay mechanics, no video game is free from flaws.

This list aims to shed light on the areas where Genshin Impact falls short, ultimately serving as a roadmap for potential improvements and refinements. Whether you like the game or not, these are the top ten criticisms of one of the most successful gacha games in the world.

The Top Ten
  1. Terrible Gacha Mechanics

I wish HYV was less stingy and gave us more 5-star characters.

  2. The Stamina System

  3. Abyss Mages

Especially when it happens when there are Cryo and Hydro mages in the Abyss, gosh darn it.

Worst enemy in the game. Change my mind.

True, but now we use Sigewinne to bubble them as revenge.

  4. Paimon's Annoying

    I wish there were a Paimon-free option.

    Yes, literally.

  5. Too Many Currencies

  6. It's Too Addictive

I have wasted brain cells trying to complete the game when I didn't even get any of the starters because I left Paimon in the Statue of the Seven. Why Genshin, why?

  7. It's Online-Only

  8. You Can't Turn Off Subtitles in the Cutscenes

  9. It Gets Repetitive

  10. The Playerbase Is Toxic

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

The Official Artists Whitewash Their Own Characters

  13. ?

    The Artifact System

  14. The Contenders
  15. Wishing Is Too Expensive

160 Primos per wish. It takes forever to save up, especially if you have a gambling addiction.

    Literally, yes.

  16. It Takes Up Too Much Space

Why does it take up 15+ gigabytes on a phone, yet 30+ gigabytes on a PC?

  17. It Drains Your Battery Too Quickly

Which is why I stick to the PC version. On mobile, it drains your battery like a starving pig.

  18. It Is a Lame Knock-Off of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The only things Genshin does better than BOTW are that the weapons don't break, you can climb in the rain without slipping, and you can play in co-op mode. It's basically BOTW for those who can't afford a Nintendo Switch.

    It's a lazy mod.

  19. It Gets Boring

  20. Enemies Drop Useless Items

Just like I Got Games Inc.

  21. You Can't Do Story Quests in Co-Op Mode

What's the point in even including a Co-Op Mode when you can't even do that?

  22. It Overheats Your Mobile Device

Your device will start heating up after running this app for, like, 2 minutes. At least, that's the case with most people. If you have a really good phone, then maybe you can last 10 minutes before you start getting your hands burned.

  23. Weird Character Designs

Some of them have weird designs (like Itto, in my opinion), but others have really amazing designs (Kokomi). But this is entirely based on a person's opinion.

  24. Grinding

For example, you have to reach a certain Adventure Rank before proceeding to the next story quest. This is the main reason why I don't play Genshin Impact anymore.

I hate grinding. It killed the fun in Genshin Impact for me.

  25. Wasted Potential

The concept of a BOTW-inspired, anime-themed open-world game sounds cool on paper, and I did enjoy my time with it in the first few hours. Yet I feel like the gacha, grinding, and certain other aspects of the game completely ruin it for me.

It's like Dragon City, Monster Legends, Castle Clash, etc., over and over again.

  26. Amber Is Useless

  27. It Has Problematic Voice Actors

For example, Tighnari's old English VA engaged in sexual misconduct with underage fans. Now he's voiced by Zachary Gordon, the same guy who plays Greg Heffley in the live-action Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies.

  28. The Terrible Anniversary Event

  29. Some Quests Are Too Hard
