Watch the live aid performance. It's probably the best live show ever put on by a rock band. Amazing harmonies, brilliant writing and Jesus what a front man! No respectable musician would argue against these guys being number one. Zeppelin were tremendous but queen were so much more original. Check out the album " a night at the opera ". Superbly creative and brilliantly done!

Guns N' Roses had a handful of hits but Led Zeppelin has so way more good songs than Guns N' Roses, not disrespecting Guns N' Roses or anything but Led Zeppelin are beast!

Their sound can be found anywhere after they appeared (nirvana, queen, Guns N' Roses and much more). Band guitarist Jimmy page also innovated a lot bye descovering the reverse echo and bye using a violin bow on a guitar.

Pink Floyd should be at least #2 if not #1. They did experiments which no one had ever done before. Led Zeppelin were not at all innovative. They were only a bunch of talented plagiarists.

They practically invented 80s style Hard Rock. Van Halen helped invent it with their Virtuoso Guitarist but they didn;t quite have the pop athemic chorus or the pop production styles mixed with traditional hard rock. A fantastic band.

I'm pretty sure Avenged Sevenfold is considered hard rock. I know this band may not be as popular as the other bands, but although they continue to make their music and influence a more current audience, this band definitely sets a mark as one of the greatest. It is also my favorite band - mickeyG94
