My favorite station
I have travelled 7 years and spent everyday at least 1 hour at this junction. Great place. By that time did not know it is best but later when I went other places understood Trichy jn is best. The best part of trichy Jn is bus stand is near by and it has ground behind. So the jn is quite airy and not much pollution. There is a nice church behind the junction. If some one has to wait long they can visit their.
Foot over bridge in all the 7 platforms of trichy is likely to be opened in February.
The future plan is to include escalator service in all the platforms along footbridge.
Best junction, the neat and clean environment outside the junction, which you could not see in other stations. I love trichy

Mayiladuthurai Junction would easily rank at the top if the train timings were proper. Almost all trains from Chennai arrive here between 2-4 AM. Even with this schedule, it is one of the top stations in the TPJ division. After TPJ, VM, and TJ, it is the highest revenue generator in terms of passenger traffic. If it is granted district status, it will experience the growth that was previously denied. Furthermore, if Southern Railways reopens the line connecting MV with Mayuram town (MVM), Mannampandal, Tirukadaiyur, Tharangambadi, and Karaikkal, it will greatly enhance additional goods transportation from MARG port.
