Rock vs Metal

EvilAngel Rock and metal beat pop. Now, m split them up... Rock vs Metal.

Within them are all the subgenres,... for example, metalcore and melodic death metal are classed within metal, just as alternative rock or even rock and roll I guess are classed under Rock. Metal is usually heavier, rock more often than not being more pop like in structure but being more metal like in sound and instrumentuse.
This one is impossible to choose for me... in the rock and metal vs pop one my answer was obvious, but my answer for this is impossible to choose. The reason is this... I listen to more metal bands than rock bands, but my two very favourite bands Breaking Benjamin and Linkin Park fall under the rock category, and they are the two bands that mean most to me and that I know every single song off by heart. My favourite rock bands include Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, Disturbed (many see them as metal but they cite themselves as hard rock), Skillet, Adema, Guns N Roses,Three Days Grace, etc. My favourite bands that come under metal include Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium, Metallica, Arcite, Dawn Of Justice, Dark Tranquility, dEmotional, older Bring Me The Horizon, Avenged Sevenfold,While She Sleeps, etc... this is an impossible decision. You'd think from most of my favourites being in rock that it would be an easy decision, but I prefer metal as an overall genre, so as a metalhead I choose metal. But my two most favourite bands belong to rock, though at times in certain songs Breaking Benjamin can be slightly metal. One vote to metal, but They're both joint for me. Who do you vote for?

Metal is technically rock, but if you insist, Metal - MrQuaz680

Metal. I have tonnes of respect to those old rock bands, but metal is more varied, experimented, and the songs usually have better lyrics. Just my opinion, I still listen to those old rock bands. Especially prog. - IronSabbathPriest

All aboard the metal train!

Also ERRA is amazing. - NuMetalManiak

Rock! I love metal and all, but rock is amazing. - RiverClanRocks

Actually, yeah I'm gonna change my vote from metal to rock. Dear Agony by Breaking Benjamin it just the most stunning, special, emotional, powerful, gripping masterpiece I've ever heard that tells a dark story across the whole album in perfect track list order. An example of rock tending to have more emotion but can still be very bass - heavy. - EvilAngel

Results? - Forsaken

4-3 to metal. - EvilAngel
