Egnomac's Loud House Episode Review Season 2 Episode 22A Legends

egnomac Season 2 Episode 22A Legends, Lincoln and Lynn Sr. get on "Legend of the Hidden Temple" and look forward to a whole day of father son bonding.

The episode starts with Lincoln breaking the fourth wall as he explains he likes hanging out with his dad but are both pretty different from one another which makes it hard for them to find something they both like as they try doing what each like which include Ace Savy and cooking and even try new stuff to do together which all end in failure as they return from deep sea diving and sit down to watch TV as they turn it on Legends of the Hidden Temple and to both surprise they both like the show and even have the same favorite team the Orange Iguana's. After discovering that the show is having a special father son they send in a 5 hour audition tape along with Lynn Sr. Lasagna and are immediately put on the show as they fly out to Orlando as Lynn Sr. shows up telling Lincoln its time to go as he appears wearing an iguana costume complete with head and tail. The show begins as Olmec introduces the host Kirk Fogg as he too introduces the show with the theme being the lost city of Atlantis as he introduces the two teams (though normally the show starts off with six teams) the Orange Iguanas Lynn Sr. and Lincoln as he complements them on Lynn Sr. lasagna as Lincoln asks him about what he though of their 5 hour audition tape and its clear Kirk didn't actually watch the tape then introduces the silver snakes Stan and Steak Stanko as they cut to commercial break the Stanko's begin trash talking as the Loud's assure themselves that their only here to have fun and not care about winning.

The game begins with the first challenge being to cross the moat using special water shoes (before continuing the episode does change up a lot from the the actual show of Legends of the Temple with instead of earning the right to enter Olemc's temple teams compete for points and also there are no life pendants to be earned for the temple run and also both teams compete together in the run). The Stanko's easily win the challenges with Lincoln and Lynn Sr. coming in last, next up is the steps of knowledge which the Loud's easily win with the Stanko's not getting a single answer right which angers them not liking being made to look like fools as Lynn Sr. reminds them that they don't care about beating them as the Stankos's grab his Iguana head gear and toss it into Olmec's mouth who crushes it. Looking to make things more interesting the Stanko's make a bet where if the Stanko's lose they would have to walk around in the airport wearing the Louds orange Iguana costumes and if the Louds lose they will be forced to walk around in the airport in their underwear, without hesitation they agree unaware of what they've gotten themselves into.

The teams now move on to the temple games but due to Lincoln and Lynn Sr.'s inability to work together they end up losing all three of the temple games as the pair argue and fight among themselves while the Stanko's take the lead, after a while Lincoln and Lynn Sr. pretty much just give up realizing that Legends of the Hidden Temple may not be their thing anymore as Lincoln confirms that maybe they don't have a thing. Shortly after the two reconcile their differences realizing all they wanted was for them to have a thing together, as they get back into the game and look to finish it there way. As we get to the last challenge which is the temple run The Louds still have a chance to overtake the Stanko's by completing the temple run in the fastest amount of time as Kirk Fogg goes over the rules as the Louds are first to do the run as they navigate through the rooms as Lincoln falls through one of the rooms and is saved by Lynn Sr. using his tail, later Lynn Sr. is grabbed by a temple guard as Lincoln saves him using a feather to tickle the guard into letting him go, they make their way to the shrine of the silver monkey attempt to assemble it they assemble it all wrong as they just laugh it up before assembling it correctly revealing the map to Atlantis as they finish. The Stanko's are up next and they literally finish the temple run in just a second making the Stanko's the winners of the game and also means the Loud will have to walk around in the airport in their underwear. Later at the airport Lincoln and Lynn Sr. prepare for their humiliation as they take off their robes as they are shown in their underwear much to the shock of the other spectators in the terminal as the Stanko's begin laughing and mocking but to Lincoln and Lynn Sr.'s surprise instead of everyone laughing at them everyone begins applauding them as one of them says they saw them on TV and they have such a great relationship and instead of being embarrassed the Louds begin dancing while still in their underwear as the temple run music plays in the background as the Stanko's outraged that the Louds weren't humiliated leave as Lincoln and Lynn Sr. continue to dance before being stopped by security who inform them that they have broken at least 10 security rules and are going to need to talk to them as they prepare to give them both a cavity search as Lincoln speaks to the audience saying well at least were doing it together.

Little trivia Miguel Puga who story boarded the episode dedicated the episode to his late father and nearly turned it down due to the father son story arc, this episode is the first to premier following shows creator Chris Savino's termination. For the positives I really enjoyed the father son story between Lincoln and Lynn Sr. though in the past they do have a lot of interactions together this is the first episode where they are the main focus of an episode as the sisters aren't even in the episode and I also liked the concept of The Loud House having a cross over with Legend of the Hidden Temple and it was great they were able to bring back Kirk Fogg the shows host to reprise his role as himself and even though Lincoln and Lynn Sr. lose and are forced to go through with The Stanko's attempt to humiliate them further by having them walk around the airport terminal in their underwear instead of them being mocked and laughed at by the other people they are instead met with applause and admiration. Sadly this is where the positives end though I really liked that they did a cross over with Legend of the Hidden Temple it all feels like wasted potential as they really didn't do a whole lot with the material there so much they could have done with it and also the pacing is too fast that it barely gives us enough time to take in everything thats going on, Lincoln and Lynn Sr.'s teamwork falling apart also feel rushed as it goes by so fast that's it barely feels believable and they end up making up literally in a short amount of time and also the Stanko's winning the game after running Olmec's temple literally in one second just seems like a slap in the face for everything that Lincoln and Lynn Sr. went through thankfully their plans to humiliate the Louds even further fail and the ending itself just feels so wrong with the Louds being stopped by security as they prepare to give them both a cavity search. I really enjoyed the episode for what it is but there failure to do the crossover justice really falls flat and fells like it should have been a full 22 minute episode so they could do more with the crossover, this episode is just OKAY in my opinion.
