Most Intense TV Series of the 2000s

The Top Ten
1 24 24 is an American action drama television series produced for the Fox network, created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, and starring Kiefer Sutherland as counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer.

I've never seen any show with as much intensity as 24. The writing, story line and innovative filming (clock and split screen) are factors but the main aspect is the character of Jack Bauer- a hero with legitimate values that guide his actions. This results in a character worthy of concern and intensifies the situations he is in. And the story moves along as a result of the characters choices not chance so their decisions are true cliffhangers.

2 Blade: The Series

Should have had more seasons

3 The 4400

It's like drama/Sci-Fi but still very interesting & intense

4 Prison Break Prison Break is an American television serial drama created by Paul Scheuring, that was broadcast on Fox for four seasons, from 2005 to 2009. The series revolves around two brothers.

Very intensive from start to finish. Great show but the ending was so-so

Ending was HORRIBLE! But the entire show was great!

5 True Blood

Has some really intense moments

6 Fringe
7 Jake 2.0
8 Mutant X
9 Breaking Bad Breaking Bad is an American crime drama television series created and produced by Vince Gilligan. The show originally aired on the AMC network for five seasons, from January 20, 2008, to September 29, 2013.

Huh? No breaking bad? This is the most intense T.V. show theme. Give it a try.

10 The Unit

I miss this one so hard

The Contenders
11 Pointless

Intense in the sense that you never know whether of not you get a low enough scoring answer.

Especially in the final round when there's a potentially huge jackpot at stake.

12 Chuck Chuck is an American action-comedy/spy-drama television series created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak.
