I know a lot of people think some major aspects of this film go too far, and I understand that. However, this is my favorite motion picture I've ever seen.
My favorite film of all time! Daniel Day-Lewis gives the best performance of all time. Easily Paul's best and cinema's best.

Truly the best film I have ever seen. One of the most original stories to be filmed in years, with an amazing and deep performance from the usually goofy Sandler. The direction is amazing, the peculiar but oddly fitting soundtrack is memorable, the cinematography is jaw-dropping, and the dialogue is fantastic.
But besides all of this, the reason I love this movie is how intimate and personal it feels. In just 95 minutes, you care so much for Sandler's Barry Egan, and you're cheering him on. Emily Watson also gives a very good performance, and Philip Seymour Hoffman delivers a memorable, half-menacing, half-over-the-top performance. There's also excellent foreshadowing at the beginning of the film.
Everything is great in this film, one of the most beautiful films of all time.
Underrated masterpiece.
