Top Ten Movies that Make You Cry

The Top Ten
Titanic

This movie truly is sad and happy in different aspects. The death of so many, the loss of a great love (Jack and Rose), and just the sinking of the ship itself.

I feel touched and also empty when I'm through with this movie. It's just the greatest movie ever, and the ending will always make you cry like a child. Outstanding cast and director, and James Horner is an amazing musician.

I normally hate romance movies and never cry during a movie no matter how sad it is. But when I watched Titanic for the first time, I couldn't stop crying when the ship began to sink and everything that happened afterward.

This movie is now one of my favorite movies ever!

The Green Mile

Never cried so hard. Tears were flooding, and I was bawling like a baby. Absolutely heart-wrenching.

Love this movie. I am in heaven. The end is just awe-inspiring. Tom Hanks is a master.

Saddest movie ever for me. None of the others come close.

Toy Story 3

I was totally confused, sad, and mad all at once! Andy had to give his toys away. I was expecting him to give them to his kids! Great movie, sad ending.

This movie has a lot of heart. One of the few next to Bridge to Terabithia that made me cry.

The only movie that's ever made me cry.

Bridge to Terabithia

This girl (I forgot her name) was his only friend and best friend, and she had to die. I was so mad at the end of the movie!

P.S. If you don't like movies with sad endings, this movie is not for you. P.P.S. If you don't like deaths in movies, this is definitely not for you.

I never really cry in a movie, and I have seen many sad ones. But this movie was the first to make me cry when the girl dies. It depressed the hell out of me for two weeks.

I hardly cry during movies like Titanic. Nope. Fault in Our Stars I hated and found predictable. The Notebook, blah. This movie, however, will make me cry every time I watch it.

Forrest Gump

Makes me cry so much every time. I can't stop watching it either. It is just so sad. I've watched it several times already and still haven't gotten tired of it!

My mama said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. - Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump)

This movie made me cry, and Titanic didn't. I never cry about movies.

Marley & Me

Great movie, terrible ending.

When I watched this the first (and last) time, I expected a heartwarming movie about a family dog who always gets in trouble, not some heartbreaking movie about a family dog who gets in trouble and dies!

I saw a commercial for "Marley & Me: The Puppy Years" and said, "Oh no, I am not falling for that again."

The ending gets me every time I watch it. Owen Wilson talking to Marley, saying he's not the worst dog, the wife sitting there crying, and the son watching tapes of the family and Marley having fun gets me very teary.

But when Marley gets the injection and closes his eyes, Niagara Falls. My dog (also a lab) went the same way.

The Notebook

I cried so hard my city could hear it. My baby sister came into my room and said I was a baby. I could not stop crying for half an hour, and I will watch this forever.

After watching this, I have so many emotions. P.S. Best movie I have ever seen, and if you like to cry, this is a movie for you. I am 18 and going to UFT for life since what what.

Great tearjerker movie with a fantastic story that is a true story, which makes this movie sad but happy. You will feel lots of emotions watching this movie.

One of the best movies I have ever seen in my lifetime, and I'm 33 years old.

Old Yeller

Don't know anybody who's seen it that didn't cry a little.

E.T. - The Extra Terrestrial

I cried when E.T. died and when he was going back to his home planet. It was a great movie, but it made you cry in some parts and laugh in others.

It was one of the best movies I have ever seen.

I was so young watching this at the movies and had a massive lump in my throat with tears welling up and rolling down my cheeks. I looked around the movie theatre and everyone was (mostly) silently crying.

The only thing sadder than this was the Atari game.

Schindler's List

I cried like a baby for an hour the first time, an hour the second time, and I think I will always cry like that whenever I watch this movie. One of the best-told sad true stories.

Definitely one of my favorites. Some scenes are simply amazing. Neeson did one of his best, if not his best job ever. His sobbing near the end is just heart-wrenching.

I don't cry easily, but Schindler's List had me crying as I left the cinema, and then crying off and on for weeks. So very sad.

The Newcomers

? The Wild Robot
? Five Feet Apart
The Contenders
Hachi: A Dog's Tale

This is the only movie that made me cry, and boy did it make me cry a lot. It's such a sad story, and it's also a true story, which makes it even sadder.

The only movie where I cried several times while watching, and I cried oceans of tears. It really broke my heart into pieces.

After seeing that this movie is not at number 1, I saw all the other movies from 1 to 15. Most of them I had already seen, but I don't think there's any comparison.

It's a 1 hour 30 minute movie, and the last 30 minutes all I did was cry, and cry a lot in the last 5 minutes. And believe me, I am a very strong guy.

All Quiet On the Western Front

There are many moments in the movie that made me cry, especially the end where (SPOILER ALERT!) he dies and fights for his life just to see the world finally in peace after such a brutal war.

If I Stay
Beaches
Up

How is this not higher?! The opening montage of Carl growing up made me cry so much!

After the first 10 minutes, I cried for the rest of the movie!

Cyberbully
Inside Out

I cried when Riley was running away and Sadness fixed her problems.

The only movie to ever make me feel something. Wow, I guess my cold black heart actually has emotions.

Armageddon

Oh my God, I remember when I just cried my eyes out while watching this movie. It was so sad when Bruce Willis sacrificed himself to save the guy his daughter loved. So sad.

I can't believe this isn't on here. I cried for days during and after this amazing, incredible film. Saddest thing I've ever seen. I love it.

I just love this movie! I watched it over 15 times, and every single time it makes me cry.

Brian's Song
The Passion of The Christ

When Jesus gets whipped and nailed to the cross, it makes me cry so hard. Not just because he did this for me and loves me, but because of how innocent and good he is.

How he cries to God to forgive the men who did that to him I cannot understand. It makes me bawl every time. I'm crying just thinking about it!

I haven't seen the whole movie, just a short 4-minute clip of it, and I cried more than I ever have before.

Some movies make you tear up. This movie makes you SOB. Never have I seen a movie so emotionally exhausting.

Ways to Live Forever
Life is Beautiful
Interstellar
My Girl
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

My friends and I watched, only to end up crying on the kitchen floor. One of us didn't even finish watching it since she couldn't stand the idea alone.

I just hated the image that movie carves into your head when they show you that door, that door!

This movie was so sad, especially at the ending. I'm surprised nobody in my classroom (not even me) cried.

It is so sad. I cried so much just imagining what they went through and what the father had done. Also, what the Nazis did to the Jews makes me so angry and sad. Such a good movie.
