Most Evil Movie Villains of All Time
Those villains who are scariest because there are probably people out there who are just like them...
The Joker is not that bad really. The Emperor from Star Wars, aka Palpatine aka Darth Sidious is THE most evil man of all time. Read the description in the 4th entry in this list... I made this account and voted on Joker just to vote on Joker to be able to comment this. I also made two additional accounts both voting for the Emperor from Star Wars, since that was my real vote. (1 vote to neutralize this vote for the Joker and 1 vote for my actual vote). I know I should make 8 accounts more and vote for all the other just to create balance in the votings, but I just couldn't be bothered.
The joker is a nihilist and anarchist, condemning Life as a harsh, meaningless joke. Living though such a life to him is "crazy", while the insane ones are really the normal people. In batman #663, the joker says "the real joke is your stubborn, Bone deep conviction that somehow, Somewhere, ALL OF THIS Makes SENSE! That's what cracks me up Each time! " And during The killing joke he goes As far to call everyone's Ideals and struggles in life A "monstrous, demented gag".
For his performance as The Joker, Heath Ledger has encompassed every previous Joker that had existed before. the joker in Batman#1, the joker in Batman the animated series, Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton's Batman, there's even a little bit of Cesar Romero in his joker laugh. But while combining all the other jokers he still manages to bring something new. paying homage to the original renditions but still giving his own take as Well. He's even based his portrayal of the joker on Alex Delarge from A Clockwork Orange.
Darth Vader does not even reach a hundred miles behind joker. Heath Ledger as the joker has shown all the acting expressions and gestures openly and outstandingly and that what has made him the best villain ever. Darth Vader did nothing apart from his creepy voice coming inside a suit made of worthless plastic. Any actor could play the role of darth vader. Therefore I prefer THE JOKER. I apologize for my bad English.

Lord Vader is the ultimate villain of Star Wars to me, and my all-time favorite character! Vader was a master of all seven forms of lightsaber combat, a master Force-wielder, a brilliant strategist, a very wise, terrifying, evil, cold hearted, bone chilling Sith Lord. If Luca's idea was never to make Anakin lose to Obi-wan on Mustafar, he would've become the most powerful and feared Sith Lord in history! Sidious would be nothing to him, and Vader would've killed him and then took the galaxy for himself. But if that happened, Vader's story never would've been such a tragedy, and he wouldn't have worn the iconic badass armor suit and helmet that we love still today, and we would've never heard the iconic bone chilling breathing.
Lord Vader is my all-time favorite character in Star Wars! He was a master of all seven forms of lightsaber combat, and amazing duelist, master of both sides of the Force, a brilliant strategist, a wise, terrifying, evil, cold hearted and feared Sith Lord. And if Lucas's plan was never for Anakin to lose to Obi-wan on Mustafar, he would've killed Obi-wan and Darth Sidious, then he would've took the galaxy for himself, becoming the most powerful and feared Sith Lord in history! But if that happened, Anakin's path to the Dark Side wouldn't have been such a tragedy, and we would've never seen him wear the badass iconic armor suit and helmet that we still love today, and we would've never heard the iconic breathing, that is Vader.
Anikin skywalker was a good guy when he was a kid and then when he turned to be an adult he learned to do most evil things on his own & some things Palpatine tought him that wasn't nice. Darth Vader killed lots of people and he tried to kill his own son Luke. He fought his son so many times. He did save his son Luke at the end but even though he killed lot of people on perpose he was still evil. He killed so many people so he could rule millions of galaxies himself as well as Palpatine wanted him to.
Vader is more evil than Sidious in a different way, despite being a sympathetic character.
He also killed a LOT more people than Sidious. I think he is more evil without being sympathetic, and he probably would've became more evil if he never found out Luke was his son and would've killed Sidious too.

Let's see what this man has done:
- Murdered his own family.
- Betrayed his allies.
- Manipulated both the dark side and the light side for years.
- Manipulated a young boy to serve his awful deeds and completely shattered him mentally in his future life.
- Formed an anti-Semitic, totalitarian empire within the galaxy.
- Executed anyone who even had the slightest second thought of him without hesitation.
- Plunged the entire galaxy into years of war and destruction, resulting in billions, and possibly trillions, of deaths of innocent people.
- Almost tortured Luke to death.
- Pretty much made the Skywalker's lives miserable by pitting father against son.
Need I say more? This man is just the evilest of evil. Compared to Palpatine, the Joker looks like a Waddle Doo from Kirby. Seriously, at least the Joker somewhat had morals. There honestly isn't any reason why this bastard shouldn't be number one. Sure, Vader was also a ruthless murdering maniac, ...more
Let's see here.
Possesses godlike powers of the dark side.
Murdered his own master.
Engineered a civil war where billions were killed.
Turned a 25,000 year old democratic republic into a brutal fascist dictatorship.
Butchered the entire Jedi order, which was founded to do nothing but preserve peace, including CHILDREN, in cold blood.
Slaughtered entire planets, eradicating cultures, religions and billions of lives.
Killed everyone who even had a second thought about him.
Appointed one man (who buy the way is also a sadistic monster) to govern the entire outer rim.
Betrayed everyone he knew just so he could come to power.
Doesn't give a damn about his citizens and leaves them to wallow in poverty.
Cooperates with criminal organizations such as the Hutts.
He's evil. He's just evil.
When it comes to figuring out which fictional character is the most evil in history, nobody is probably more worthy of that title than Palpatine. As possibly the most powerful of the Sith in history, he's the essence and embodiment of the Dark Side of the Force. His mastery in the force is immense as his signiture power, force lightning, is the least he relies on to dispose of his enemies. His skill with the lightsaber is notable given his previous duels with Master Yoda, Windu, and many other skilled Jedi in Episode I. His plot to destroy the Jedi is doable with the power he's capable of wielding and has wield, his manipulative skills, etc.
Emperor Palpatine A.K.A. darth Sidious is the most evil and wicked of all villains in Star Wars. He had the most vicious and evil apprentices, including Lord Maul (ruthless and tactical) and Count Dooku (majestic and corrupt)... He also engineered the execution of the entire Jedi order and anyone who would oppose him in majestic Boss-like fashion in Order 66; he took complete control of the senate and pretty much the entire Galactic Order. He savagely and ruthlessly ruled and conquered the republic and set forth a new Federation led by Grand Moff Tarkin and his forces; He was a master of the Dark Side and the most eloquent and ruthless leader of the Sith order; he even knew of the Sith legends such as Darth Plagueas... And he was responsible for concocting the brilliant takeover of the universe and forced the only remnants of the Light Side Jedi to go into hiding for approximately 20 years; every one of the highest ranking of the Jedi council was literally butchered and slaughtered by ...more

Dr. Hannibal Lecter is the greatest villain of all time. He should also be at the top of this list, because there are really sociopaths out there who are able to blend in with society by being charming, intelligent, and charismatic... while secretly being sick, sadistic, and serial killers. Because you never know whether somebody might be one of those people... Hannibal is the scariest villain. You just never know if that polite gentleman you met at the store might be a cannibal...
Hannibal lector was a very grose man but I don't think he's as grose as Davy jones. He did kill people. He didn't just kill people he also ate other people. He ate everything you can ever think of on humans only he did that to like at least 20 people or more. He was a doctor that heled someone with its blood, but then he thought is smelt good and tased good so he dicided to go around killing and eating other people because he liked the taste of there blood. He ate people's lungs, privates, hearts, brains ahh he was a pretty dam grose dude.
Hannibal the Cannibal is the best movie villain ever! He's good at blending in with his surroundings because he acts so gentlemanly, but on the inside he's a psychotic cannibalistic serial killer. And he's very good at getting into your head and toying with your mind. He IS, without a doubt, the best villain in movie history!
I think the worst part is that Darth Vader and the Joker don't get inside your head like Lector, basically he knows how to scare you, terrify you, and torture you mentally when he is in a prison cell underground. Watch Red Dragon, You can try to beat him, but at the end of the day, hell get what he wants.

When I think of the Worst & Most Evil Movie Villains, I'd choose between Darth Vader, Sauron, or Voldemort why I didn't choose the Joker? Because it was heath ledger that portrayed a villain, but he was not "evil", he said so "I'm a dog that chases cars, I don't know what to do if I caught one" (or something like that)... He was crazy and a villain but to say evil like pure evil.. Um not in my perception.
Darth Vader was very close and also the Palpatine emperor but Darth Vader turned out to be good in the end, he was forgiven and saved by his son.
Sauron, he fits the evil part easily but he is kind of abstract... Always having other to fight for him...
I forgot... Amon Goeth form Schindler's List was both a Villain and evil plus he was real, but it was the movie that portrayed him like that and when you think this character was real you find incredible that a person could be that evil... It was a close call with Voldemort (curiously portrayed by the same actor... ) but I ...more
Darth vador did not even frighten me when I was a child he has a soul he becomes good which means he never truly was evil in the first place that and he just dose not have any aspects of his character that are truly terrifying. But voldemort this man is terrifying even as an adult he makes me fear him for starters he tried to kill a baby yes a baby did vader do that hell no he also kills Harry's family. He then through the books rips through Harry's world destroying everything he loves and with apsolutly no remorse not even one moment dose he look like he even cares. This man is truly terrifying he has a giant pet snake and is pritty much invincible
Tom Marvolo Riddle A.K.A. lord Voldemort is without a doubt the greatest villain ever created. His look as Lord Voldemort, the fact he doesn't know Love or Friendship, his extraordinary and huge magical ability's all make the greatest villain of all time. He will kill who he wants to be and sometimes for fun. Splitting his soul into seven pieces. I see no other villain who is a greater villain than he is. No chance.
Well for starters he doesn't have a nose & that's scary enough! But seriously just think about it, he tries to kill baby Harry, he kills with no remorse & is basically a human psychopath with no empathy for others but yet has magical powers where he can REALLY get involved in killing! He also doesn't pretend to be nice or anything.. He's evil & he knows it!

I think he should be number 1 because unlike the joker who wants to anarchy and chaos, Anton feels that he has to be anarchy and chaos. Like there's no other choice. He thinks that if he doesn't do bad things the world will never be thrown out of Alignment. Kinda depressing for a character huh?
There is no comparing Chigurh's ferocity and utter detachment from humanity to anyone else on this list. He should be #1 because his "evil," unlike everyone else on this list, isn't contingent upon motives...it's simply his nature.
I really do not get why Hannibal and Darth Vader are so high, they redeem themselves. This guy, on the other hand, is as terrifying and brutal as they come.
Haven't seen the Duke from Salo, or any of the Saw movies.
Other than that, none of the villains on this list approaches this guy for sheer evil.

Freddy Krueger was a creepy evil man that was evil, creepy, Deadley, and way to horrible to live on earth. He gets born and comes to life from people's nightmares. Some people died from there deathly nightmare. He didn't just kill people from Deadley nightmares, in general killing people became his favorite thing to do. He enjoyed killing people a whole lot especially children. He was smart, and had evil magic in nightmare deaths. He was evil, terroring, and Freddy Krueger was a creepy smart ass.
Even though Fred Krueger may be regarded as one of the most terrifying characters in cinema history, Robert Englund (the actor who played Freddy) is considered extremely friendly in real life and is very appreciative of his fans, many admitting that his portrayal of Krueger legitimately frightened them as children.
I actually feel so bad for this guy because he had a terrible life growing up. here's his backstory.
A long time ago there was a nun named Amanda Krueger who worked in western hills mental hospital caring for the inmates. she was accidentally locked inside over the Christmas holiday and gang-raped by 100 inmates until she was found barley alive, and pregnant. on 11/12/1938 she gave birth to a boy named Frederick Charles Krueger who was adopted as a child by an abusive alcoholic named Mr Underwood, who teaches him how to torture animals and inflict pain on himself. he was also teased at school for being the "bastard son of 100 inmates". freddy eventually murders his stepfather, with no apparent consequences, and becomes a serial killer. when freddy reached adulthood, he married a woman named Loretta, with whom he fathered a daughter named Katherine. after the birth of his daughter, he tried to lead a normal life, but his murderous nature eventually overcame him, and he murdered ...more
Freddy Krueger was a child killer and was caught but released on a technicality. The parents of the killed children torched Freddy but he became something far worse. The stuff... Nightmares are made of.

Frieza is the most ruthless, cunning, vile, wicked, corrupt, and evil villain in the history of all anime and animation in general. He is tender yet suspenseful; he is effeminate yet deadly... He deceives through a comical mannerism and a sarcastic wit; yet is extremely dangerous and bloodthirsty. He has the most cruel and barbaric henchmen, Zarbon (who is mysterious and deadly; handsome and hides a ruthless beast within) and Dodoria (brutal and savage against those who are weaker). Frieza has the most vicious persona as well... He concocts and evil plan to destroy all his enemies at once and on the advice of his henchman, Zarbon, he eliminates the entire Saiyan race, committing genocide and executing anyone who would pose a threat against his barbaric rule. He is responsible for taking over hundreds of planets and has hundreds of years of cruel inter-planetary dominance, casting a shadow over the Northern Quadrant of the universe for the longest amount of time. Frieza has enslaved ...more
The sinister Frieza; the most diabolical planet conqueror the universe has ever known; his reputation precedes him and is paralleled only by the fear that resonates from the mention of his very name.
He killed the whole population of hundreds of planets because he wanted sell the planets. He also kills his soldiers just for fun or not even for that. Frieza enjoys torturing people.
He is a true monster.
The battle between Goku and Frieza was the longest fight that is ever measured in history. I cannot even wait for the defeat of Frieza but Goku was defeated too easily in some numbers of rounds but finally Frieza's disk that killed Goku totally backfired and sliced Frieza into half and let the Piccolo's planet home destroyed. And Goku is gone.

Lord Voldemort: Killed off a bunch of wizards
Darth Vader: Killed a lot of people, but had a history of doing good when he was a Jedi
Thanos: Kills half of an entire planet, and sacrifices his own daughter.
Many villains don't succeed but this guy is an exception. Killed 1/2 of the universe. Despicable.
Killing half of all life will certainly make a villain very high on the list.
He doesn't need any super powers he already has the memes by his side to fuel him.

Every terrible trait a human being can have incarnated into one person, Vader, Voldemort, Freddy Krueger are evil and all but Amon Goeth is just downright reprehensible. His final words of "Heil Hitler" show how deluded and uncaring this guy was of anything.
How can he actually keep a straight face when he is murdering hundreds of thousands of people, each worth a thousand times more than he is. He doesn't even care. I wish I could launch a nuclear bomb through my T.V. screen whenever I see him.
Amon Goeth is the greatest villain of all time. He is cruel, sadistic, crazy, and was a real person. Every evil deed, every act of pure cruelity he does in the movie, he did in real life. That is what makes him the best villain EVER.
The guy is brutal. I knew the character had made an impact on me when I encountered a Holocaust denier and I absolutely went off on the guy!

Really? Really?! This guy is the ultimate evil! If Vader met him, he would just erase the sith lord from existence. If Voldemort met him, Voldemort will be crying like a little baby. He's almost conquered Middle-Earth (which, in my idea, is possibly a dimension, since you pretty much require magic to cross to other parts, twice! He's created the Witch King of Angmar (who also would whoop Vader's butt, by the way), corrupted Saruman, and held his ground against Galadriel, one of the 3 most powerful elves of all time, while at such a weakened state he cannot even fight! Just repeating his words twists your minds and cracks your lips! How is he not number one?!
Is there a Question? Sauron comes from a barren, flaming wasteland, giving him the best hideout. Has 2 million Orcs, goblins And Wargs at his command and Nine Immortal Servants as followers, which gives him the best and Most Badass (sorry for language) Army of them all. Finally, He speaks a language (the Black Speech) That terrifies men and elves and chills their souls, Imagine being in front of a 20 foot, Black Iron-Clad Killer That wants your head on a spit, He Is the BEST VILLAIN EVER!
He's literally evil defined! He knows nothing other than cruelty, destruction and the One Ring he wants to acquire power (which he already had)!
Sauron was the devil of all the middle earth people. He was a really bad ass he became the devil of the evil dark lords. He took heaven away from the people that lived on middle earth. He did kill a whole lot of people. He was evil and that powerful ring had evil power inside. The ones that touched the ring turned evil such as Morgoth, Saruman, The Witch King, Nazgul, and all the other bad guys. Sauron tried to have gandolf killed because he's like the god of the middle earth and sauron is the devil.

I know that a Disney character isn't supposed to bring fear, but if this were a person you'd have second thoughts. He wanted power so badly that he killed his brother and blamed his nephew. He had some psycho heyeenas trying to kill some kids and in the end he nearly got victory, only Disney wrote this so that couldn't happen. Also wanted to vote for Count Olaf and It. Stephen King, you f'd up guy, you.
Scar is just PURE evil. I voted because he would just do anything for a crown.
I know there's just no competing with Voldemort and the others up there, but why is scar so low in this list?!

Honestly, how does Jigsaw not have a higher rank? He masterfully plans out all his traps, and uses amazing strategy to plan out every single death of his victims. He is a psychopath that could double as a psycologist, given his extraordinary mind. He was an evil, villainous mastermind from when he survived a suicide car crash until he died. However, his legacy didn't die there. He pulled in a victim of his traps, and convinced even her to make people "redeem themselves" the same way he made them do it. Brilliant, psycopathic, and truly evil, this villain is definitely the best.
Should be #1 in my humble opinion. His traps were brilliantly thought out, and inflicted the maximum amount of pain on his victims. The most evil thing about him, though, was the way he convinced his victims that he was doing the right thing, and got them to bring in even more victims. This guy might have been a psychopath, but he was good at it!
Despite his interesting purpose, he seems to test people in severe and evil ways. He's not just trying to test people's will to live (and maybe redeem themselves) he is also a nasty sadist probably trying to get his blood fix before he gives the bucket a kick.
Jigsaw should be higher up the rankings. I mean he is an architect of torture and shows absolutely no emotions, just like hannibal. He is also intelligent and unlike the others his work continued after his death!

Even though every other bad guy on this list is way cooler than the Duke, I still think he's the most evil. The Duke is sick in ways I can't begin to describe. The film Salo is number one on allot of disturbing film lists. Arguably the Duke is the most disgusting one in the movie. I'm not saying that the other villains on this list aren't sick, but this guy is just over the top gross.
What would you expect form the main villain of the most disturbing movie in existence. Not only this he isn't insane, he can control what he is doing and knows perfectly well that he that what he is doing is wrong and he still does it.
Okay why isn't this number 1? This guy is crazy! You don't see people like jigsaw and joker do the stuff this guy does. CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN! Shivers running down my spine and fighting back the vomit.
Duke De Blangis is the most insane prick you will see on media, he's impossibly ruthless, psychotic and disgusting, yet his portrayal by Paolo Bonacelli makes him and his actions seem real enough to be traumatizing
You'll want to beat the s out of this guy 5 minutes in the movie, then be forced to feel the same for 2 more hours, then realize he won over you, truly horrifying

He has the power of triple awesomeness that would defeat all the avengers' awesomeness in like two seconds or maybe one? Anyways I don't know why he isn't on the first page. And another point Tom Hiddleston plays him. That should definitely count for something right?
I can't believe no one put loki on the list! What's wrong with you people?! He's the most powerful villain, I think. And so cruel! I love it!
I love this villain and I love his new TV series. The GOAT when it coomes to villains
Not really that evil.

Why is he so low? He I evil than vader
A wannabe of Darth Vader
Added because Han's dead?
Kylo Ren isn't evil than Darth Vader is Kylo Ren is more than a ugly Kid with anger issues

Without a doubt the most soulless, evil, contemptible movie character of all time. I'm disappointed that The Joker is number 1 here. He might be the most entertaining and memorable movie villain, but he's certainly not the most evil. Not even close. Captain Vidal takes the cake, followed by Anton Chigurh (No Country for Old Men) and Amon Goeth (Schindler's List).
Captain Vidal is not only evil he is easily one of the most sadistic men seen on screen. He brutally murders countless people without even flinching.

This is truly one of the worst characters of all time, I saw both movie and as a play and after both I wanted to strangle her and it brought me to tears.
Name any other villain who can truly make you feel physically sick to your stomach.

The Joker was a bad guy that did so so many eliegle things. He killed quite a lot of people just for no dam reason. He killed his own father and his girlfriend totally for not one reason. He just doesn't care what he does or who he kills, he was a very evil man. All he likes to do is to watch the whole earth burn to death and bully the earth with his evil laugths. He mostly tried to kill batman. It he did kill quite a lot of others to. He wasn't a nice guy at all.
Joker never tried to kill batman, not once. He allways just toyed with the guy and the only way he would have wanted to kill batman is if he were to die too and make it seem llike an epic battle of good and bad. But for some reason he didn't take his revange against batman for what he did to him rather he continously toyed with him. And he is the best villain in any movie fairytale anything hell lucifer doesn't compete
Heath Ledger may have been "scarier" to many people, but he didn't capture the true psychosis of the Joker like Nicholson did.
Seriously. Did Ledger ever ask for a guys gun and shoot him with it? No? I didn't think so.
Nicholson all the way.
Nicholson is MUCH truer to the comic - and nobody can do it better! I know youngsters prefer "reality, " but there is a poetic beauty in the fantastic!

He, along with buffalo bill and leatherface, was based off a real serial killer.
Anthony Perkins does a phenomenal job as Norman Bates. he still gives me the creeps.
He's one of my favorite villains because of his mommy issues and ways to scare someone

Cato was a complete thug and the one tribute hell bent on killing off the so called Star Crossed Lovers of District 12.
A thuggish Tribute from District 12 who was considered Katniss' biggest threat.
The leader of the villainous Career pack (tributes from Districts 1 and 2).

I honestly think that Michael Myers is more scarier than Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger. he's more realistic (because when you get down to it, freddy is scary, but as the films went on he just got more annoying and corny and dumb. and jason's just a retarded deformed man with no real motivation except killing campers because he never got to be one. and how can a human being come back alive after being killed so many times? ). Michael myers has a motivation and he's not like some magic fairy who keeps coming back to life after getting killed. this makes him a lot more scarier because the things that happen to freddy and jason can't happen in real life.
But remember this is just my opinion and I'm glad to hear your opinion to.
This is deadly killer mask in face and in hand me big knife. Film Halloween 1 is Michael Myers slowly, and Halloween 2 his Myers started mega killer.
I honestly think that Michael Myers is more scarier than Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees because he's more realistic.
Michael Myers of film Halloween. Mega Killer, his in hand big knife and of face me mask. He is werry closed gentleman.
