Top 10 Best Albums of 1984

The Top Ten
Ride the Lightning - Metallica
The Works - Queen

A lovely album from the artwork on the cover to the music inside the album sleeve. You've got a nice, simple monotone cover of the band. You know you're picking up a Queen album, and before you even play it, you know it's gonna be a good one.

If you don't like this album, then you don't like Queen.

Powerslave - Iron Maiden

I like Ride the Lightning a lot, but Powerslave is the king of masterpieces.

Run... Live to fly... Fly to live... Do or die... Won't you run... Live to fly... Fly to live.
Aces high!

Reckless - Bryan Adams

For me, this is the greatest album of 1984. All the songs are great, but Summer of '69, Heaven, and Run to You are iconic masterpieces.

Such a great album, and Bryan is underrated.

Like a Virgin - Madonna

Production is great. Rodgers is a great producer.

Purple Rain - Prince and the Revolution

This album is not only the best album of 1984, but also one of the best albums ever. It is much better than Like a Virgin and even The Works. It will always be remembered as one of the albums that defined the '80s, with outstanding songs like "When Doves Cry," "Purple Rain," and "Let's Go Crazy." A true classic.

1984 - Van Halen
Love at First Sting - Scorpions

Great album! One of their best. "Rock You Like a Hurricane," "Big City Nights," "Still Loving You"... Amazing.

Defenders of the Faith - Judas Priest
