Top 10 Best Albums of 2005

The Top Ten
  1. A Beautiful Lie - 30 Seconds to Mars

No reason to even argue, this is definitely the best album of the year. If I had to explain why, I'd write a 10,000-word essay.

  2. Confessions on a Dance Floor - Madonna

This album is so awesome. Everything Madonna does is different, and she's always innovating. This shouldn't be any different. It's a full non-stop album like a DJ set on a dance floor. Plus, it's a beautiful album.

Confessions on a Dance Floor (Madonna) and My December (Kelly Clarkson) were the perfect albums of 2005.

Who needs a DJ when you can just play this album? Once you play it in your own house or room, you can't stop dancing. Sadly, this is her last good album.

  3. City of Evil - Avenged Sevenfold

Beast and the Harlot, Bat Country, Seize the Day, Sidewinder, and Strength of the World - five of A7X's best songs in my opinion. Syn's best album. Masterpiece!

Bat Country, Beast and the Harlot, Seize the Day - definitely the best album of the year in any genre! Madonna and Lindsay Lohan?! For real?

Beast and the Harlot, Burn It Down, Sidewinder, Betrayed, and M.I.A. make this such a classic album.

  4. Oral Fixation Vol. 2 - Shakira

I think this is Shakira's most serious and creative album to date. I love every single song here.

  5. Demon Days - Gorillaz

Amazing album. So much meaning in the songs - well-written yet extremely subliminal. I just love it.

This is one of the most underrated albums ever.

All the songs on Demon Days are amazing!

  6. Illinois - Sufjan Stevens

How is this even up for debate? This album was ranked the best album of 2005 by critics everywhere. Anyone who has listened to it will tell you that.

A million times better than anything on the list before it. A true masterpiece.

  7. X&Y - Coldplay

I don't know why X&Y is so far down on this list. It has many great songs and is underrated.

Best album ever. It should be in the top ten.

Best album of 2005 for sure! It was the bestselling album and won a Grammy! How can you not love it?

  8. See You on the Other Side - Korn

  9. A Little More Personal (Raw) - Lindsay Lohan

You may hate me, but I love this album. Lindsay caught my eye with her debut album Speak (2004), but she really surprised me with this one.

  10. Covers Vol. 2 - Regine Velasquez

Following the phenomenal success of Covers Vol. 1, the Songbird has once again proved that she can make another platinum album.

    "Everything she touches turns platinum."

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

IV: Constitution of Treason - God Forbid

  13. ?

Finally Out of P.E. - Brie Larson

  14. The Contenders
  15. Passion - Geri Halliwell

  16. Ghost Reveries - Opeth

Definitely much better than most of these.

  17. Mezmerize - System of a Down

63? This deserves to be in the top 5.

  18. Curtain Call: The Hits - Eminem

An album with most of his greatest songs plus new tracks.

  19. Ten Thousand Fists - Disturbed

I'm actually kind of confused. Everybody has heard Ten Thousand Fists, Stricken, and Land of Confusion, and it's not even on here? City of Evil isn't a bad album, but most people can't even name a single A7X song, while Disturbed has eight No. 1 singles.

  20. Hypnotize - System of a Down

  21. Alligator - The National

  22. Signs of Life - Poets of the Fall

  23. Playing the Angel - Depeche Mode

  24. Inhuman Rampage - DragonForce

  25. Octavarium - Dream Theater

What a great album! 2005 was also the year YouTube was released.

  26. Rosenrot - Rammstein

  27. All We Know Is Falling - Paramore

Their debut. Not their best album, but it's the best album (next to A Beautiful Lie by 30 Seconds to Mars) of 2005. Paramore is an awesome band. They rock!

  28. Coll - D'espairsRay

  29. Make Believe - Weezer
