Best Albums of 2013

The Top Ten
Random Access Memories - Daft Punk

RAM isn't just the best album of 2013. So far, it's probably the best album of the 2010s. It shows class, restraint, taste, and just plain talent not seen in the sparkly glitz of the pop divas, the grimy, mostly mediocre sludge of the rap world, and the just plain terribleness of the emo scene. Seriously, what an awful excuse for music.

Music ahead of its time. So crisp, so detailed, with elements of retro and modern music. A piece of art that will definitely go down in history.

21? Are you kidding? A recent poll showed it to be in the top 3.

The Marshall Mathers LP 2 - Eminem

This album was just amazing. The singles Berzerk and Rap God were both great songs, especially Rap God, which was a masterpiece. Then you add in The Monster with Rihanna, who sounds great.

You also have the sequel to one of his best works, Stan. Bad Guy is a really good song, and in the last verse, it gets really intense. He pours out his mind, and it's great. He gave us Headlights with Nate Ruess, which was a great song about his mom - a big apology and I love you, which was great.

Then we get Legacy, So Far..., Rhyme or Reason, Desperation, Wicked Ways, and Love Game, which were all just great. Simply a great sequel to his Marshall Mathers LP.

Hail to the King - Avenged Sevenfold

Hail to the King new single was awesome! Can't wait for the album. How Shadows has described it, it's gonna be classic. Desperately waiting for Acid Rain.

This needs the top spot! A7X rocks!

Immunity - Jon Hopkins

It sort of sounds like Burial and Aphex Twin combined. Lovely fusion.

Sempiternal - Bring Me The Horizon

There was hope for 2013's music. And that hope was Sempiternal.

... Like Clockwork - Queens of the Stone Age

The very moment I bought this album, I listened to it in its entirety. Every track is brilliant, and at points, absolutely breathtaking. I'll just say that the song I Appear Missing is possibly the best song Queens of the Stone Age have ever made.

Just amazing. This album does not have a single bad song on it.

Paramore - Paramore

This album is like a treasure hunt or a good book. Each time you listen, you hear something different, and it never gets old. Last Hope is one of their best songs ever, and every song is single-worthy. One of the best albums of 2013.

Paramore did a great job! They did different genres and blended them with their sound. They did a wonderful change.

Modern Vampires of the City - Vampire Weekend

Everything about this album blows away everything about any other album made in 2013. If this doesn't get to the top 10 eventually, then send me your hat and I'll eat it.

Yeezus - Kanye West
Skull - Evile

The Newcomers

? Ghosts & Memories - The Black Noodle Project
? Eat More Fruit - Love Button
The Contenders
Beyoncé - Beyoncé
Run the Jewels - Run the Jewels
Construct - Dark Tranquility

One of the most powerful albums ever. Best of 2013.

Rise - Skillet

This and Vessel by Twenty One Pilots are the two best this year.

A fantastic blend of all of Skillet's previous work. This is truly an amazing album.

Super Collider - Megadeth
Pure Heroine - Lorde

Seriously! What is wrong with you guys? It should not be number 40! I really love this album and its songs. Shame on you.

Nothing Was the Same - Drake
ARTPOP - Lady Gaga

Yay! ARTPOP we have waited so long for you to come out! Us little monsters couldn't wait any longer! Now we have to be patient!

Can't wait for this! I have been waiting since the Marry The Night music video back in December 2011 for new stuff. We know it'll be great, Gaga! Can't wait!

The 20/20 Experience - Justin Timberlake

I feel like I have been born in the wrong generation. I can't believe that Snoop Dogg, Paramore, or whatever other artist is above this. This album is critically and commercially more successful than any other album on this chart. It has got both class and style. JT just rocks!

It doesn't offend me that it's not in the top ten because this is just the generation nowadays: they don't appreciate good music.

How is this not in the top 10? The best album of the year with a lovely fusion of sound, lyrics, and beats. JT IS BACK!

Native - OneRepublic

This is a great album. It has so many good songs like If I Lose Myself, Something I Need, Counting Stars, Au Revoir, Burning Bridges, Preacher, etc. Then again, it's OneRepublic. Of course, all the songs are going to be good.

A flawless album with music of unique kinds. Just go for the song Can't Stop and you'll understand! Definitely deserves to be higher than 28! (while Mr. Funky Wayne's up there in 18th).

Really, really good. Whether you like this type of music or not, this album is impressive.

Temper Temper - Bullet for My Valentine
Acid Rap - Chance the Rapper
Talking Dreams - Echosmith
What About Now - Bon Jovi

This album reflects the fact they are not the band they were decades ago. A more mature sound about what affects them now as a mature band. Not just party, party, party. They have grown like their audience. Number one for a reason.

The Paradigm Shift - Korn

Not their best album, but the best album of 2013 for sure.
