Top 10 Best Anime Songs
Anime has always been more than just animation. The right song can take an emotional moment and make it unforgettable, or turn an action scene into something that gets your heart racing. Whether it's an opening theme that hypes you up, an ending song that leaves you deep in thought, or a soundtrack that perfectly matches the mood of a scene, music plays a huge role in making anime special.
Some songs become so closely tied to their shows that just hearing the first few notes can bring back memories of favorite episodes, intense battles, or heartbreaking goodbyes. This list is all about the best songs that have been used in anime, whether they were written specifically for a series or simply fit so well that they became an essential part of it.
-
Sadness and Sorrow (Naruto)
I think this really suits Naruto's childhood. It breaks my heart every time to see Naruto all alone on the swing with the music playing and people scorning him as they walk past. If they scorn Naruto, they are no better. The music has a soft sound to it with the ringing that makes it perfect for Naruto.
This is one of the most touching songs I've ever heard. I could literally take a bath using all the tears I've shed after watching Naruto, and all of that came from listening to this song when paired with a death scene.
-
No Rain No Rainbow (Naruto)
It's the most beautiful song I've ever heard. I'm so glad that I was able to hear it.
It is really good for me and my friends.
-
Guren no Yumiya (Attack on Titan)
Easily one of the best theme songs ever. The lyrics describe the show's theme perfectly, and the constantly changing beat leaves you wishing it would never end. There are few openings that can top this.
Most epic theme song ever! I could listen to it over and over again and not get bored. Attack on Titan is not my favorite anime show, but I do think it has the best opening theme song.
Literally the most iconic anime opening in the history of anime openings.
Maybe, just maybe, it's trumped by Cowboy Bebop, but then again, everything is trumped by Cowboy Bebop.
-
Rain (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
I love this song. It's awesome and really suits the series Fullmetal Alchemist very well. I bet the entire series could have been based around this particular song. The only issue I have is that this song needs to be higher.
Considering the events that were taking place in the series at the time, I cannot think of a single song that would've fit the theme better than this one. It was calm, it was passionate, all around an amazing song.
I love this song! It actually kind of resonates with me. It suits almost everybody! And at times, it makes me cry. Really awesome!
-
Ichiban no Takaramono (Angel Beats!)
A very sad, sweet, and soothing song. It tells a sad story throughout. The song makes me cry every time!
One of the best I have ever heard. This song deserves to be in the top ten!
Somehow, right now, that's my most precious treasure.
-
Unravel (Tokyo Ghoul)
The voice, theme, lyrics, everything is so great that I just can't explain. This should surely be in first place. What's more, 'Again' from Fullmetal Alchemist is as low as 50, while 'Rain' is in 2nd place. It's not that I don't like 'Rain', but I think 'Again' is much better. The sweet, melodious voice of Yui, combined with the awesome tuning and art, make this song the best.
The other thing I want to say is that the article is for best songs, not soundtracks. That's why I disagree with 'Sadness and Sorrow' being in first place because it's a soundtrack, not a song. The songs that I like the most in Naruto are Naruto Ending 1, 'Blue Bird', 'Sign', and 'Glow of Firefly'. Other songs that I felt should be there are Violet Evergarden Ending and Opening, No Game No Life Opening, and Your Lie in April Opening 1.
-
Sign (Naruto)
This song has a lot of meaning, as it beautifully portrays the heroic sacrifices of Itachi and Jiraiya and how they tried to protect Sasuke and Naruto, respectively. Also, there's the tragic fate that Sasuke, Itachi, and Pain were forced to face, the pain that made them who they were. This song is epic and is a testament that so is the anime.
From an objective point of view, this song is just marvelous. It mixes tons of feelings at the same time. It should be upgraded.
"I realize the screaming pain
Hearing loud in my brain
But I'm going straight ahead with the scar"
It totally fits the season! Just touching!
-
We Are! (One Piece)
I entered this website specifically to see this at number one, and I see it at number 13.
Surprised, that I am.
Deserves a better spot. This song is so lively and perfectly reflects how happy One Piece is.
It saddens me that this is so far down on the list.
-
Hinata's Theme (Naruto)
-
Tsuioku Merry-Go-Round (Fairy Tail)
Very relaxing music that you will replay again and again.
I love this song. Bet you're going to play this over and over again.
It has made me cry. Natsu, Erza, Lucy, and Gray's sad pasts, along with the wonderful meaning and melody, make it simply the greatest.
-
?
Makafushigi Adventure (Dragon Ball)
The greatest anime opening of all time.
Its action-filled melody, adventurous visuals, and ancient Chinese vibes embody the series perfectly.
-
?
Smile Bomb (Yu Yu Hakusho)
How was this not on the list? It's one of the greatest anime openings ever!
-
Smile (Full Moon o Sagashite)
-
Kagome's Theme (Inuyasha)
Kagome's theme and Inuyasha's lullaby are my top favorites ever! Kikyo's theme is also peaceful but reminds me of the tragedy of her life. Kagome's theme reflects the girlish joy of Kagome every time she goes back to the feudal era to meet Inuyasha and friends.
It reflects the longing of Kagome for Inuyasha, who has been blatantly ignoring what she deeply feels inside. It's kind of like unrequited love.
From Inuyasha, a particularly haunting melody.
-
Before My Body's Dry (Kill la Kill)
-
Glorious Sunshine (Shugo Chara)
-
Cha-La Head-Cha-La (Dragon Ball Z)
This song brought a lot of spirit and fun to the intro before the episode began.
It's very easy to remember, like Rock the Dragon.
Oh come on, man. It's the Dragon Ball Z theme song. It's just so memorable.
It should easily be in the top 10.
If they use this song in Dragon Ball Super, every fan would get off their couch and start singing.
-
Exorcist (Blue Exorcist)
This anime had a lot of good music and songs, and the anime was great too.
Blue Exorcist is just awesome!
Such good. Rin is overpowered. Kill la Kill's 'Before My Body Is Dry' should be here, though.
-
Eternal Snow (Full Moon o Sagashite)
It just gives such nice feelings. I can't get tired of it!
It was my first-ever favorite song!
-
Wind (Naruto)
Deep lyrics and great music, very suited for Naruto. Also, the lyrics can make you feel better when you're down.
This song should be at least No. 3!
-
Hero's Come Back (Naruto Shippuden)
Another epic theme song I could listen to again and again. It's catchy and it's a great song!
-
Los! Los! Los! (Saga of Tanya the Evil)
-
Shi-Ki (Shiki)
Watched many series in my time and this had arguably the greatest opening I have ever seen.
-
Memoria (Fate/Zero)
One of the best anime endings I have ever heard. Eir Aoi's voice is so beautiful and made me watch every single bit of it. It's hard to believe that I rarely find this song on anime ending lists. It accompanies the anime, which is a masterpiece, and the scenes of the past lives of the heroic spirits beautifully.
-
Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari (Bakemonogatari)
-
Zoetrope (Amnesia)
This is a very good song, and it needs to be higher.
It is one of the best anime songs I have ever heard.
-
Toumei Datta Sekai (Naruto Shippuden)
If you appreciate brilliantly made videos on a soundtrack and songs, this is the song for you.
I love this song very much, especially when I'm listening alone on a rainy day.
It fit the opening when Naruto fought Pain because it was a sad time.
