Top 10 Songs with the Best Dimebag Darrell Solos
Darrell Lance Abbott, also known as "Diamond Darrell" and "Dimebag Darrell", was the guitarist of the greatest groove metal band ever, Pantera. In 2003, Pantera went to hiatus. He and his brother formed Damageplan. On December 8, 2004; he was shot by Nathan Galen on-stage while performing with Damageplan. What are his best guitar solos?
Sounds like zxm had a problem pulling this one off. Keep chugging, buddy, you'll get it. Unorthodox style is what makes Dimebag a legend.
Beautiful guitar solo with some really tasteful shredding.
A pure masterpiece. Hell, his fingers were practically on fire after that blistering solo, one of my favorite Dimebag solos.
This easily deserves either number 1 or 2, behind only maybe Floods or Sunken Cheeks. Actually, it's shameful it's only number 4. This is peak Dimebag greatness on display, so much soul in those screeching bends and then it builds up into a monster shredding finish. Top tier in my opinion.
It combines elements and techniques of many different scopes, all of which Dimebag dominated. Insanely good, perfect for the song's chord progression. Chilling. R.I.P., Dimebag, thank you for your legacy.
This is just such a good solo. You think it's over with the short clean breakdown, and then the screeches come back in, just so much emotion and technique and passion.
Such an emotional solo. I love how it starts off all sad and gloomy, but it brightens up more as the solo goes on. That mixed with all the tasty licks put in there, this has to be one of Dime's best solos. (R.I.P. Dimebag)
One of my favorite solos. Other notable mentions: Mouth For War, The Sleep (which is already 2nd place - I don't need to vote for that), Domination...
This list is missing the greatest solos! Psycho Holiday and Rejection are by far the top 2 solos where Dimebag shows his unique and unmatched skills.
Why isn't this higher? It's a kickass solo with all the bends and squeals to make your thighs wet.
This should be in the top 10 at least. It's got all the tasty blues licks you could ever want, along with some unexpected slide work by Dime. Overall, an amazing solo. Needs to be higher.
Throes of Rejection is just a very underrated song in general. But the solo makes it even more underrated. Like, how could you not like that song after that solo? It's got some crazy fast licks in there, but they aren't too much either. Amazing solo.
VERY underrated solo, one of Dime's hardest solos to pull off and has very cool bends and legato runs.
Very difficult solo and really cool.
From their second album, Projects in the Jungle, the first track. He kills it here.
