Best Eurovision Countries

Who is the best Eurovision song contest country? Who sends the best songs with the best quality?
The Top Ten
Sweden

Bloody hell, they should deserve the top spot just because of Euphoria. Sweden delivers consistency like no other. Like with all popular and successful institutions, there will be bad-mouthing in attempts to highlight another, often your own, country.

For example, there is talk of Sweden's lack of diversity in what it brings to the table and that Sweden always goes with a traditional pop formula. I remember when Sweden blew me away with a dancing Indian, for crying out loud. I'm in awe. Massive respect to that cold land of beautiful people. Europe (including us British) loves you!

Ukraine

Unlike the overrated Sweden, which always brings really basic songs with badly written lyrics, the Ukrainian entries are (in most cases) quality songs with a catchy rhythm and real meaning. Shady Lady is the ultimate anthem.

Same here. I expected "SHUM" to be about 14th-16th, but it came 5th to my surprise. Ukraine is the only country to have always qualified from their semi-final. Plus, where are Australia, Armenia, and France? They have been doing okay recently.

From 2004, one-time winner and four times top 5. Always good entries, beautiful artists, and something special every new Eurovision year.

Italy

Much better than the Swedes, who get all the jury votes.

Madness of Love, L'amore è Femmina, Grande Amore. Italy may have only recently rejoined, but they're already one of the most consistently fantastic countries!

Norway

Nocturne, anyone? Also, Fairytale got an insane amount of points back in 2009! Norway is definitely one of the most reliable countries when it comes to producing music for the Eurovision Song Contest.

I loved Spirit in the Sky from 2019 and Fallen Angel from 2021. I was quite picky with their 2020 entry - I didn't think it was that good.

I loved how they hosted Eurovision in 2010. They got the whole of Europe to dance!

Azerbaijan

In the last three years, Azerbaijan has always been in the TOP 5!

I love Azerbaijan. You are the best.

Greece

I love Die for You. I love Secret Combination. I love My Number One. I love Shake It. I love Rise Up. I love Everything. I love Opa! I love Watch My Dance. I love Alcohol Is Free. I love Aphrodisiac. I love all Greek entries in Eurovision!

Greece has never gotten the last position in Eurovision! Greece has one first position, three third positions, and two fifth positions!

I love my country despite the fact that in the last few years it has been underrated!

Russia

They always bring amazing and awesome entries!

Spain

We won twice, and the last time was in the '60s!

Netherlands

The Netherlands has good songs, but all the countries vote for each other. The Netherlands has only Belgium, Luxembourg (if they show up), Germany (not always voting, but that's okay), and the UK (same story as Germany).

The Netherlands is one of five countries to win the contest five times.

Won four times. They were better in history, but Anouk was very good last year. We're BACK!

Ireland

Brendan Murray 2017, Nick Byrne Sunlight, and Molly Sterling should have qualified. Three good solid songs. But no one votes for Ireland anymore because there are too many Eastern countries, and then us and Britain don't have a chance at all.

They should call it the Eastern Eurovision Song Contest.

They hold the best record for Eurovision wins, 7 in total. No country has been able to match that. Their recent entries have been very diverse, though not always successful, mainly due to block voting.

So underrated for their 2014 song Heartbeat. I live here, and I can tell you that the song should have at least got 8th place in the final.

The Newcomers

? Luxembourg
? Yugoslavia
The Contenders
Iceland

I think Iceland is an extremely underrated country in Eurovision. Unfortunately, it does not receive many votes as it has no neighboring countries, only having friendships with a couple of Scandinavian countries.

This year's entry, Ég Á Líf, was not the best Icelandic entry. However, I believe that 2012's entry, Never Forget, was the best Eurovision entry to date.

Turkey

They were one of the countries creating competition with great songs every year. Hope they will rejoin soon.

They don't participate anymore, but they were one of the best countries in the last decade.

They will probably participate in 2017 in Ukraine. We miss you guys!

Denmark

They always have high-quality songs, filled with emotion and passion, and they should definitely be above Norway! Norway has won 3 times, while Denmark has also won 3 times. But Denmark usually has much better songs.

Best of all. The happiest nation in the world, of course, makes the best music.

They always send great entries with quality and serious songs.

Belgium

I love almost all Belgian entries. Very underrated country, really deserves better.

Belgium always sends quality! Very distinct sound that sets them apart from the rest!

Serbia

I think that Serbia is one of the best countries at Eurovision because they are the only country to win on their debut, apart from Switzerland at the very first Eurovision.

Slovenia

One of the most underrated countries in the competition, with great songs like Energy from 2001, Stop in 2005, Cvet z juga in 2007, and Prisluhni mi in 1995. It also had some of the most hilarious entries, such as Samo ljubezen in 2002, Nanana in 2003, and Mr. Nobody in 2006.

Let's make Ljubljana 2017 happen!

Moldova

So... wait. UK higher than Moldova? What have we ever done that was better than Moldova?

Finland

An underrated country that has some very good songs!

Israel

Great upbeat songs and an awesome ballad in 2013!

Australia

Australia is the only country to never leave the top 10. Although it is not actually in Europe, the country has one of the highest Eurovision viewerships in the world (and it is on at 3 in the morning). Australia sat quietly watching for years, and once the country finished in the top 5 on its first appearance, it has been in the competition ever since.

Some people hate Australia simply because it isn't in Europe, but nobody can deny that the country is extremely good and has had 3 citizens win the competition (for other countries).

Armenia
Romania
Switzerland
United Kingdom

They lost their enthusiasm for Europe, and the country has grown tired of the partisan voting. They used to be very good when the European club was more exclusive, but now they feel like, why bother?

Even though we have come last for two years running, I still thank the BBC for proving that you can still have a good night even if you come last.

They aren't that good anymore, but 20 years ago, they were the best and won lots of times. So they used to be great.

Germany

Always top 10 in the last three Eurovision events and one victory in 2010. They are really improving now!
