Best Gorgoroth Albums

Known for their unrelenting sound and uncompromising vision, Gorgoroth has been pushing boundaries since the early '90s. Their discography spans decades, with each album offering something unique. From raw, lo-fi chaos to more polished, atmospheric works, they've covered a lot of ground while staying true to the genre's darkest roots.

This list gives you the chance to rank their albums based on what you think represents their best work. Maybe you prefer the early days when their sound was raw and unfiltered, or perhaps you're more into the later releases with their crushing riffs and ominous, layered production.
The Top Ten
Pentagram

Hands down the best album they've ever made and one of the best black metal albums of all time! The album flies by, but that doesn't detract from the sheer ferocity and evilness displayed here. It's hard to pick a favorite, but if I must, it would have to be Crushing the Scepter. The ending of that song is just otherworldly, and I still get goosebumps every time. This black metal masterpiece gets 10/10 from me.

Everything on this album is a masterpiece. From the dirge of Ritual to the brilliance of Måneskyggens Slave. From the darkness of Katharinas Bortgang to the old-school sound of (Under) The Pagan Megalith. This is the greatest album Gorgoroth has ever made and my favorite album. This is possibly the greatest black metal album ever! Infernus destroys everything in his path with his demonic guitar riffs. Hat shrieks his way through the whole album, making it 10 times better and more evil. This album is a must for Gorgoroth fans, and you must definitely own it if you're a black metal fan.

Under the Sign of Hell

A unique masterpiece and a rare example of musicality in black metal. The songs are very well composed and memorable. A must-listen for every metalhead, not just fans of the genre.

Profetens Åpenbaring is one of the best metal songs in history, and it's on this album!

Incipit Satan

This album is just banger after banger! A riff masterclass.

Antichrist

The greatest EP ever recorded.

Twilight of the Idols
Destroyer
Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam

Prosperity and Beauty and Sign of an Open Eye (the first black metal song that I've ever liked) are absolute black metal masterpieces!

7? I think this album deserves to be ranked higher than this! It should be 4.

Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt

Infernus is back as the main writer and is as evil as ever, with songs like "Satan-Prometheus," "Building a Man," and "New Breed." It definitely leaves you possessed by true black metal. Great quality of mixing too!

This and Instinctus Bestialis are such underrated albums.

In my opinion, the best black metal album of the 2000s. Amazing!

Instinctus Bestialis

This album has two bangers: Burn in His Light and Radix Malorum. Those songs prove that Infernus is still delivering good riffs.

The heavy guitaring is brutal. This album is too underrated, in my opinion.
