Top 10 Best Female Belters
I was really impressed the first time I listened to "Somewhere." Her vocal technique is amazing, almost perfect. Her rhythm is crystal clear, pure, and angelic. Even though her voice isn't as dramatic and resonant as Whitney's and she can't use whistle notes like Mariah Carey, her musical technique is the best. Every note is perfectly controlled. Her belting is long, powerful, and somewhat resonant, but it's not annoying like Christina's (she is good but often overdoes it with growling and lacks proper technique). If you enjoy listening to belting songs, I recommend the endings of these two songs: "Somewhere" and "A Piece of Sky."
Her voice is a gift from God, to be forever cherished and remembered for its dazzling grace. She was as iconic of a person as she was a singer. She was beautiful, smart, and intelligent. I will always love her!
I love her! She's been my idol forever.
Her powerful voice is addictive.
#6!?!?! WHAT?!?! She is a legend for belters. She is a mix of a true belter and pop belter and just incredible. One of a kind.
Her praise and worship singing is unmatched.
Very talented and beautiful lady. Even though I believe she is not as good as some of the others lower on this list, I still love her beautiful, rich tone and "Mary Poppins-esque" crystal-clear voice.
My heart will go on for the best female belter. Just listen to one of her songs. You'll immediately understand. She rocks! Love you, Celine!
She deserves a higher rank! Her career spans over 30 years. She has 2 Oscars and 1,096 awards and is known as THE QUEEN OF BALLADS with great belting ability. She is the best-selling female artist. She has a vocal range of Bb2-E6 and even hits G6 in falsetto. She is an incomparable vocalist and a living legend. I love you, Celine!
She is one of the best singers to ever live!
Her range is insane. She can support a mixed belt up to C#6. Whitney is widely considered the best singer of all time (and rightly so), but So Hyang has the best belting ability of anyone I've ever seen. She's a Korean folk singer. Check her out on YouTube.
Powerful, resonant, supported belts extending into the 6th octave. Beautiful, bright, and ringing head voice. Spectacular musicality and stamina. Her transitions between registers are seamless, earning her the moniker The Korean Mariah Carey.
Regine must be number one. She is the best, and she is Asia's Songbird. No other artist in this generation can reach her success and milestones. She has been reigning for 26 years in the Philippine music industry and is named the Queen of Original Pinoy Music.
Regine is very successful, but putting that aside, she is the best belter you could imagine. Watch her on YouTube and discover it yourself. No kidding.
Regine must be on top! Why? Because of her extremely high, soulful rendition of every song she sings. She is one of the greatest and widest vocal belters of all time. For me, she is the best singer in the world. I LOVE YOU, "ASIA'S SONGBIRD."
Her style and voice are unique and encourage one to want to sing.
Her voice type makes her almost a perfect candidate for great belts, and she makes the best of it.
She's one of the best in the whole wide world. She has great vocals, range, and acrobatic skills. One of a kind! Truly an exceptional artist. Congrats to her for Help Me Get Over (her newest single) dominating the top OPM in iTunes Philippines.
Until now, the soundtrack for My Husband's Lover, a GMA teleserye airing every 9:30 p.m. on weekdays, remains unbeatable. The series garners top spots both in the Philippines and worldwide trending.
Nice to see that you are in the top. You deserve it. World-class Jonalyn Viray. Go for the gold!
Amazing girl! She has the power to belt high notes. Very good singer.
She's truly amazing. Having a one-of-a-kind talent is a great gift from God. Keep on inspiring us, Ate Sarah, and we will continue to support you all the time. We, your fans, will always be there through your ups and downs in life. I love you so much, Idol.
Should be #3 on a separate list. Top Ten Pop Belters: #1 Whitney Houston, #2 Celine Dion, #3 Sarah Geronimo.
She never fails to entertain us. She can belt the notes without hesitation. She defines the true POPSTAR!
Elkie Brooks has to be the best singer the U.K. has ever produced. Elkie sings it ALL: rock, jazz, blues, and pop. She is the U.K.'s female artist with the most entries in the U.K. album chart ever. Known as the British Queen of Blues, Elkie's live shows are sensational. A must-see.
Elkie Brooks has an amazing vocal talent.
One of the best singers in the world.
She was such a powerful belter that even after she died, they still had to shoot her voice.
Chaka Khan is a serious female singer. One of the best singers of this time. She should be higher on the list, as should Whitney Houston.
She makes singing seem so savvy and elegant all at the same time.
I love Idina so much! She is the best. Even though Let It Go is getting old, it is still a beautifully powerful belting song. She IS Elphaba, and Elphaba is one of the biggest belting roles of all time! She can belt like nobody's business. She has a stunning voice that gives you goosebumps just listening to it. (I'm not just a crazed fan either - I am a musical theater actress and a mezzo-soprano belter. I know what I'm talking about. She is fantastic.)
#13? WHAT? She deserves to be at least top five. She is my inspiration.
From 2008 to 2011, Charice slayed my entire existence. She didn't have the range of Regine or the mastery of head voice like Whitney, but her belts were the best - extremely powerful, resonant, and with a unique tone. I wish she had been more popular because I believe she was one of the best singers to grace the 21st century.
Charice is amazing and should be way higher on this list! She can sing super high notes so effortlessly. She can nail all the Whitney Houston and Celine Dion songs. If you've heard her sing "All By Myself," you'd know she's awesome.
It's obvious - her ability to control with clarity, even at the very high notes.
Simply one of the best in her generation.
Her belts are filled with so much emotion that even a small girl will cry in tears. Maybe a little exaggeration there, but it's kinda true - her belts are phenomenal.
Demi is by far the best singer of this new generation. She can also put a lot of emotion into her singing, and her high notes are just out of this world.
Well, she's really the best for me. She can do both the lowest notes and even one of the highest notes. She is simply amazing. Humble pa. I just so love her.
The SOUL PRiNCESS!
