Best Queensryche Songs

The Top Ten
1 Eyes of a Stranger

One of the most addicting and evergreen metal songs of the '80s. Operation: Mindcrime, Empire, and Rage for Order are Queensryche's finest. Chris DeGarmo's departure sadly reversed the fortunes of this band.

Caps off the album and story perfectly. Hearing all the sounds from the album in the last few seconds is magical, and it feels complete.

Very surprised that my top track off of Mindcrime is topping the list. A masterpiece indeed. Thank you, Mom, for opening my ears.

2 Queen of the Reich

Probably the best metal song of all time, not only the best Queensryche song. It never loses its uncanny power and air of suspense. Far better than Silent Lucidity or Eyes of a Stranger, this is the ultimate driving tune.

This song deserves more than any other to be number one. It was the first song I heard by them and is by far better than Eyes of a Stranger.

Queen of the Reich got me into Queensryche. To be only four minutes long and melt your face away! Classic METAL!

3 Silent Lucidity

Without a doubt, this is the best song ever written in Queensryche history. It brings out so much sense that it can be compared to Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb.

DeGarmo was and will always be the genius behind the band's success.

Silent Lucidity is a very clear example of the pure art of writing great music.

I remember listening to this for the very first time. It certainly got me into Queensryche.

This is not just a song. It's a melancholy tune that matches your sadness (if you are sad) any time. The concept upon which it's written is also fabulous and proves to be one of the greatest songs ever written.

4 Suite Sister Mary

It is not just a Queensryche song. It is a metal masterpiece and one of my favorite songs by the band.

5 Roads to Madness

This is the ultimate Queensryche epic. Better than "Suite Sister Mary" in my opinion. Should definitely be much higher!

6 Empire

My favorite song from Queensryche. The song is followed closely by Operation: Mindcrime, Eyes of a Stranger, and Suite Sister Mary.

7 Take Hold of the Flame

Although the whole Mindcrime disc is mind-blowing, the vocals and sheer passion in this song are mind-blowing. Very emotional like much of their music. Awesome band both live and in the studio.

Unquestionably Queensryche's best in my estimation. Just a goosebump-inducing song all the way through!

This is the Stairway to Heaven, the Child in Time of Queensryche. Just a mind-blowing masterpiece.

8 Jet City Woman

It's their best song off Empire after Silent Lucidity and one of my favorite Queensryche songs.

Jet City Woman should be way higher on the list. The solos make this the best on Empire.

It features one of the best vocals by Geoff Tate and a very good chorus. It deserves its place on the list.

9 The Mission

A very powerful and underrated song from Operation: Mindcrime. Could easily be on the top of this list. Brilliantly done from start to finish.

As I was typing that "Breaking the Silence" should be number one, I thought, "What about 'The Mission'?" Enough said.

One of my favorite songs. Haunting and deserves to be higher, right next to Eyes of a Stranger.

10 Revolution Calling

The lyrics are more relevant today than they were in 1988!

The Contenders
11 Operation: Mindcrime

The whole album Operation: Mindcrime is genius and my favorite. Hard to pick just one.

12 I Don't Believe in Love

This song is so powerful and unique, from its emotionally charged opening riff to its hard-driving beat and cynical lyrics. It's the perfect companion when driving around and feeling sad about some past romance gone bad.

This is probably my second favorite song. Geoff Tate is brilliant. His amazing four-octave range is so impressive. It sends chills down my spine and the hairs on my arms stand up. Please check out some of these songs.

This song earned them a Grammy nomination, and they deserve it because they made good music.

13 The Lady Wore Black

This is the song that put them on the metal map. Too bad they don't remember it! They need to get back to the early days of mind-blowing lyrics and performance.

14 Speak

As relevant now as it ever was, and oh so blistering and heavy! LOVE this one more than all the others.

15 Walk in the Shadows

Mine too. Every song is a best-of song! Best album ever. We are Rebellion or Neue Regel and and and!

This is literally one of the best songs ever. Way too low, I love it.

16 Breaking the Silence

I think this should be higher on the list. This song rocks!

Insanely good song for driving fast at night. Epic.

One of their best songs. It should be in the top ten.

17 Spreading the Disease

Absolutely LOVE this song. Any Operation: Mindcrime song could be number one, but this one should be way up on the list!

Awesome heavy metal. Should be in the top 5.

18 Another Rainy Night

Not their normal type of song, but this song is AMAZING! Come on, I can't listen to Queensryche without listening to this song.

It relates back to their hometown of Seattle, and the feeling in this song is great! Queensryche at its best if you ask me.

19 The Killing Words

The most underrated song from them. Such a classic.

20 Best I Can

Makes a man want to be the best man that he can!

21 The Chase

Simply a perfect song, a masterpiece! Geoff Tate singing with Ronnie James Dio... a perfect duet!

22 The Whisper

I believe this song is about an occult ritual. Really evil guitar riff and lyrics. Huge and epic. My favorite after Eyes of a Stranger.

23 NM 156

Really powerful guitar riffs and drumming. Love the lyrics, they seem very politically motivated. Excellent song.

Is logic just a sentiment amidst this savagery?
